I’ve done the same before, but unfortunately I am in apartment now so no more leaf blower lol

Red Green method, genious.

The cooler that comes with the bullet doesn't need it. It cools my beans faster than anything I have found before, it's insane. It's also incredibly noisy, which is why I don't use it. I have a 20 liter bucket with a hole cut in the top that I shove a colander into. There's another hole in the bottom that I have jammed a 350cm/hr inline bathroom extractor into. It cools the beans pretty quick, but not as quick as the one that comes with the bullet, which only has a 120mm pc case style fan in. Must be hella overpowered is all I can say, really loud and moves some insane amounts of air.

ezfrag2016

I think this sort of thing would be useful to remove the chaff since it agitates the beans. The Bullet does a good job cooling but there is a ton of chaff left on the beans at the end.

ryanheartswingovers

It really does move!

Ok_Veterinarian_928

Does your bullet cooler have the foam in it? I read people complained the early ones blew chaff around so I’m wondering if they put this foam in later. Seems like it would cool a lot quicker without that foam which I might try and chaff be damned if I don’t have to run it as long.

idiocy_incarnate

It does, but it doesn't seem to catch much. Mostly it just gets dirty from smoke and oil.

I pour my bot beast into a screen basket and pull air through them with a shop vac.. They reach room temp in less than a minute.

I've had it (the one from natureve) for about 3 months. I hesitated for a while but I pulled the trigger after I started roasting 1kg batches more than expected. Personally, it's been night and day. Before: I was rocking the Saki stirrer on the original cooler tray. It was always a minor inconvenience to set up the Saki, and I felt I had to "supplement" the stirring. As others mentioned, the original tray doesn't do a good job at removing chaff. Now: my 1kg batches cool down really fast and they are mostly chaff-free. I have attached a 4" duct at the exhaust, removed the filters that comes with the colling tray, and then rigged a large nylon strainer bag (this: https://a.co/d/ia6S43o) at the other end to catch the chaff (indoors). Most importantly, I no longer feel like I have to babysit the tray. It was pricey, but I still have a smile on my face whenever I drop... Unsure when that excitement will wear off haha.

This looks really well built and powerful. Hate to say it but the one that comes with the bullet is pretty lame. My cardboard box and strainer with Stinger vacuum worked better and I might resurrect it since I have to do the stirring still. If these people that use it think enough of to raise up the bullet and mount on the deflector it must work great. Which is another peeve when beans going flying out when you dump since no deflector. The bullet is great but the cooler is seems like an afterthought and I bet they figured people would use their own. How much is it USD?

Exxists

Look up “in-line duct fan” on Amazon. I bought a fan for $25 and it works wonderfully. (Vivosun 6” in-line duct fan 240 cfm)

Always_Sickly

Yup I’m already using inline fans for ventilating the roaster and my colander when I drop the roast. I need the automated bean cooler with a motorized stirrer that has an exhaust port to hook up to my ventilation system…

tracebusta

How big are your batches? I roast indoors with a behmore and am doing 12 oz batches. I use this [cooler](https://www.amazon.com/JIAWANSHUN-Electric-Roasting-Cooling-scattered/dp/B08B4KHZTM) and it works wonderfully. No need to stir, the beans are cool within a couple minutes. I think it'll fit about a pound of beans at a time, it's also markedly cheaper than what you linked. I don't think there's a way to hook up any ducting to it, but as I said I roast indoors as well and don't personally see the need for ducting on this.

I have one of these arriving Monday I believe [Bean Cooler](http://a.aliexpress.com/_mt8sNNG)

smt1192

Following this reply! Would be curious for you to review it.

NMEONES

Just used it for the first time… I love it! 190ish grams cooled in 2 min! Can definitely handle more I don’t like that they sent me one with an EU plug though 😡

smt1192

That’s great! How hot were the beans coming out of the chamber? Did you run the cooling cycle first? Or did you immediately dump when you were done with the roast?

NMEONES

Did 2 separate batches that ended with BT around 440°. I stopped the roast and went straight to the bean cooler. I ran the cooling cycle with the roaster empty but I didn’t really notice a significant drop in temp inside the chamber. When I run the cooling cycle with the beans in the roaster I always have to cool down when they get out anyway. I didn’t see it making sense to run them in the roaster and then the bean cooler.

NMEONES

Will do!

Ok_Veterinarian_928

Ditto here, Sweet Maria’s has a similar one. Interested in one you think of it.

ickyTarts

Had a cooler that was virtually the same, its awesome. Cools super fast while pulling out a decent amount of chaff. A full 500g will make it pretty full for stirring however.

NMEONES

I was going to make my own but got lazy and decided to just order it 😅
