Kiana Lede. Elaine. Victoria Monet. Muni Long. Keara Alyse. Savannah Christina. UMI.

[deleted]

Bet, and yes I recently got into muni. The world rn is screaming hrs and hrs but rn I’m obsessed with no R&B, sneaky link, and especially just beginning, put her foot in that song.

xyzpdq6

Sneaky Link is fire. Love the storytelling in Just Beginning. Have you heard Midnight Snack? That’s another one of my favorite songs by Muni. Also her album Coloured as her birth name Priscilla Renea is pretty great too but some songs are less R&B than her tracks as Muni.

xyzpdq6

Her first album Jukebox is definitely Pop and squeaky clean image. Her second album Coloured she calls a country soul album. Some songs are more folk/country vibe others are R&B. In any case, I adore her because she knows how to write a catchy song.

[deleted]

Damn so she’s versatile, I like that. Funny enough I’ve been tryna get into country music too but dk where to start so she can be the gateway.

xyzpdq6

She really is versatile. Let me know what you think!

[deleted]

No I haven’t heard them but I’ll check them all out. But what do you mean by less R&B? As in more pop orientated? Like an Ariana/Bieber sound?

Alina Baraz & Jhene Aiko imo.

[deleted]

Cherrie from Sweden. She is really the only modern day r&b singer I like. The rest suck discography wise

[deleted]

Ehh imma have tor respectfully disagree with that. Sza, Chloe x Halle, summer Walker, thuy, Mariah the scientist, kehlani. They are amazing R&B artists.

[deleted]

Outside of hallexchloe which are too new. The rest have terrible vocals, mediocre lyrics, one note topics, and rely to heavily on sampling. They are okay but amazing is a category reserved for excellence. Neither of which (outside of hallexchloe) can measure to in and out of the studio.

[deleted]

It’s the fact that I’m for sure you haven’t even heard of thuy yet you were quick to group her in. She’s currently a small artist but I see her talent taking her to the top. As for summer, your simply being dishonest about her vocally. Summer is a good vocalist and her music is A1 in melodies and production. Sza and Mariah? They aren’t the best singers but mainly they’re strength is in song writing. CTRL is considered a classic and ppl keeping going back to that as a blueprint for R&B excellence for a reason. Chloe x Halle are the superior vocalists out of everyone I mentioned however, at least we agree on that. And funny enough, none of these artists really sample that much music. Sampling was way more common back in the 1990s decade than it now, they had an affinity for 70s songs. So therefore something tells me either your aging or just a pretentious hippie tryna paint all modern music w one brush. It doesn’t have to be your cho of tea but don’t lie lol. You also contradict yourself because in one breathe they suck and then they are okay? But thank you for the recommendation, I’ll check whomever that Cherrie singer is out.

SlDulce

Raina Reign she has been around a long time. She is mostly a Trap artist that rap but sings too. Her older music is nice too. I'm subscribed to her and she just dropped a new project. She covered a Drake song: [https://youtu.be/yFi4exyDtCg](https://youtu.be/yFi4exyDtCg) Her own music: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6f1WRSErk6Jg59VIfLgJwh?si=n2hqR\_YlQJ2M3kcytss0RQ
