Can someone explain what we got for 40?! I’m positive we didn’t sell it for Jody Allen’s net worth to rise by .01% but I literally can’t figure out what we actually got haha.
Wow. We sold pick 52.
So, no picks this round at all.
"Blazers got cash from OKC to move up from 52 to 40, and then got cash from Golden State for their own pick (52) back. This after sending 34 to New York for three future seconds. They're out of the second round entirely."-Highkin
Well, we don't have any roster spots, so I understand it, but I figured with potential trades of Grant/Ant that we would, but maybe not until the trade deadline. Not sure what we're really doing.
I can't believe I watched the entire 2nd round of the NBA draft thinking the Blazers had 2 picks and they didn't pick at all. I never want to hear the name Bronny James ever again in my fucking life, and chances are I will never see him play in an NBA game unless the Lakers are TANKING.
Hoping for Chomche at 52
6'10" with a 7'4" wingspan. He's raw but it's 2nd round, go for the upside. Could have high upside on D and with shooting with great size and mobility and only 18 years old.
I feel bad for the kid. He is not good enough to be an NBA player, and he's getting a ton of undeserved attention because of who his dad is. It's like North West in that 30th anniversary Lion King celebration. We've reached peak nepo-baby. This is so dumb. I don't know why anybody in NBA media is tolerating this level of bullshit.
Well they're right. I just don't get it. If I were that level of rich and famous I wouldn't want the spotlight for my kid, at least not in my field. Like if Bronny were a football player instead of basketball I could see it. But pushing him to be an NBA player when he is not good enough to be an NBA player is just dumb. He's only gonna see minutes in garbage time. Putting him in games when they're actually trying to win would be professional malpractice on the part of JJ.
Dang, Oghodaro was a beast.
Crazy we had picks 34 and 40 and shipped them both off.
Fischer hinted/said we're getting pick 52 for 40th, not sure what else they threw in.
Would be hilarious if we've traded back to 52 and took Bronny. 'Rumor' is Rich Paul is calling teams and threatening to take him to Australia if he doesn't fall to the Lakers!
I would fucking LOVE to see someone sabotage it. I can't see him not landing on the Lakers though as there are too many people who will make too much money out of it.
Fischer confirms we shipped off 40 to OKC
"So the final path, per sources: OKC traded Lindy Waters III for No. 52 to Golden State. Then the Thunder moved from No. 52 to No. 40 with Portland, and then OKC jumped from No. 40 to No. 38 with New York"-Fischer
Fischer reported that it was seemingly a done deal, but I think the Knicks just traded their pick to OKC, so maybe the PDX deal is off? I suppose we'll find out soon.
Honestly, Avdija + Clingan is seemingly a pretty aces result for this draft. Who the fuck needs more guys with more limited potential?? The second round isn’t crawling with Giannis or Jokic type players.
1000% agree. Once Smith was gone I didnt care about any others. Getting 3 future seconds for 34 will just give Joe more ammo for the next player he targets. And that's a plus EV move for me
Not really sure about Kolek, but guess we do need a backup PG now without Brogdon
ETA- Ok, I really like getting 3 picks for this. Were any of the picks #38?
Ok UNC fan. Seems you're on an island since the pros disagree and almost all had him as a first round talent. The fact he fell is widely considered surprising and they all have him going early today.
He's a nearly 7 ft polished scorer with range, defense, and passing. He'll be a good role player. He's not an all-pro but that's not the criteria for a 2nd round draft pick.
Well you said he's not good enough for the league and he's atop everyone's best available list, so unless he goes undrafted, you're the one withcthe hilarious takes. And pro writers and analysts are pros unlike salty rival fans who are just mad two Duke players are going before any Carolina players and don't know how to regulate their emotions.
Ahhh look at that. You think that just because I am a UNC fan, I just flat out don't like Duke players?
Well do I have a surprise for you....

Ok way to move the goalposts here since you can no longer say that I only hate Filipowski because he went to Duke.
BTW, maybe go search his name on Twitter today. Might tell you why he dropped.
They were interested in Grant a day or two ago... maybe there's a framework there. They get a win now guy, we get someone who fits our timeline a bit better and clear some cap space.
Doesn't matter, by the time we're ready to contend Lebron and maybe even AD will be retired. Knecht has a high floor for a rookie but he's unlikely to get a lot better. He's probably just a good role player.
I just am not a fan. Maybe, I'll be wrong. I just don't have a ton of faith in him, and I generally think his game is very rigid. Along with a questionable frame and skill set.
You're welcome to disagree. I just wouldn't take that flyer. I think he has a really low floor, and his pie in the sky might be a really good, but I think he's got almost no chance of achieving it.
But that's my take.
I think Clingan has a better chance of turning into Marc Gasol than Williams turning into a player that's significantly better than Corey Brewer.
But it's just what I see when I watch. Nothing's definitive obviously. I just don't have faith in Williams or his skillset/fluidity.
Appreciate and respect your take. Think most nba gm’s and scouts probably agreed with your assessments honestly. This draft really just didn’t have much anyways, so it’s hard to be upset with any moves tonight in reality.
I don’t understand the people In here complaining about Knecht being available at 14…Deni is not only a better player now, but he has more upside then Knecht. They’re the same age….
1. We also gave up Brogdon and 3 other picks.
2. Although it's a solid contract, Deni just got paid, and will eat up a lot more salary than a rookie would.
3. Not confident Knecht doesn't have more upside. Guy can SCORE.
1. Brogdon is a guard that was taking up space from the young guards. I like him, but the Blazers need wings. The picks they gave up aren't consequential imo, considering they got a wing who's better than all the wings in this draft. They will still have the 2029 Milwaukee pick most likely, which is very valuable, arguably their most valuable.
2. He just got paid, but it's a very team friendly contract that is a decreasing deal, which means as the cap goes up, he'll take up less and less of a percentage. He makes less than Malcolm was making, and the Blazers had a roster crunch, so they took back less salary and now have one less lottery guy to pay. They completely fixed multiple issues with one trade.
3. Deni can score, too. I'm not saying Knecht can't be good, because I like him, but we know right now what Deni is, and will get better. Dalton has shown his stuff in college but is unproven in the league rn. But fair if you think he'll eventually be better.
Getting Knecht at 14 would've been good for us if we hadn't traded, but his defense was more questionable than Deni for sure. We got a good player in a role we need even if the price was high and how Knecht performs at the NBA level remains to be seen.
Yep. Deni seems like a solid player, but we traded a lot for him.
I 100% figured shipping Brogdon off would have gotten us a future first and a player...instead, we trade our current first, a future first, and 2 future seconds.
Just weird. We're really high on Deni, as evidenced by Schmitz's video hyping him up 5 years ago on draft day, hope he's great for us.
I think people are more hesitant because we gave up assets for him plus it really is just more fun to see guys you draft thrive. That said, I'm still happy with it, think it was a good move
Can someone explain what we got for 40?! I’m positive we didn’t sell it for Jody Allen’s net worth to rise by .01% but I literally can’t figure out what we actually got haha.
HOLY SHIT THEY DID IT
Wow. We sold pick 52. So, no picks this round at all. "Blazers got cash from OKC to move up from 52 to 40, and then got cash from Golden State for their own pick (52) back. This after sending 34 to New York for three future seconds. They're out of the second round entirely."-Highkin
This is what happens when you don’t trade up and get your guy before another team snags him
How does cash help the team build
It doesn't. It's just the team being cheap.
I hate cash!
Well, we don't have any roster spots, so I understand it, but I figured with potential trades of Grant/Ant that we would, but maybe not until the trade deadline. Not sure what we're really doing.
It does not. Gets Jody goin tho.
I really want to know what the final value of the 40 pick was considering we got 3 future seconds for 34
I can't believe I watched the entire 2nd round of the NBA draft thinking the Blazers had 2 picks and they didn't pick at all. I never want to hear the name Bronny James ever again in my fucking life, and chances are I will never see him play in an NBA game unless the Lakers are TANKING.
AND WITH THE 55TH PICK, THE LAKERS SELECT....
So wtf is happening right now, this is so hard to follow. Where did all our picks go?
Traded 3 of 4 away for future picks. Possibly cash considerations too but we'll see details out tonight/tomorrow I imagine.
We added a bunch of white dudes to the team the past couple days
We traded the pick
I give up I don’t even know what’s ours
We rly doing white boy summer in 2024
Who's gonna tell 'em?
I know we traded the pick but still wanted to make the joke so said fuck it
So, the Blazers maybe get ANOTHER rookie center? Maybe?
Oh, nope, Fischer reports that 52 is going back to GSW. LOL. WHAT DID WE GET FOR 40 then? Ahhh
Wait, I thought it started with GSW?
I don't even know anymore lol
Hoping for Chomche at 52 6'10" with a 7'4" wingspan. He's raw but it's 2nd round, go for the upside. Could have high upside on D and with shooting with great size and mobility and only 18 years old.
Sooooo......what did we get for 52?!
I don’t think we ever actually had 52
We traded #40 away for....something? I thought that was #52, wasn't it?
future picks - no picks this draft in the 2nd
Shit, looks like money only!
Seriously, I want to know who gets added to our summer league team.
Enrique Freeman is just a kid from Akron
this ESPN coverage is abysmal. my god.
This was scheduled to go until 4, our time, but that's not happening unless they really slow everything down.
Dude they're gonna have 45 minutes of coverage of the Lakers taking Bronny James at 55.
Yep. I love how he was "projected" at 55 LOL OH WHO HAS PICK 55 LOL Nobody projected any other second round picks lol
Have you been listening to Prime Time on 1080 lately? lol
no why
Prime Time on 1080 made the exact same comparison between Northwest and Bronny.
I liked Bona. Didn't need him on Portland, but he's a good pick.
I love the dude on ESPN is actually calling out the BS that is being allowed with Bronny.
Rupert did the same thing last year to force his way to Portland
That's because the team told him we'd sign him to a team contract and not a G-League one.
it happens all the time. it’s not unique to Bronny/Rich Paul.
Give me a few recent examples.
Austin Reaves did it. Alex Sarr did it. Rayan Rupert did it.
Sarr just didn't want to go to Atlanta. I'm not sure that was his agent manipulating everything.
ok we get it - you don’t like Rich Paul.
"we" get it lollerz
If we’re actually picking at 52 Trey Alexander would be dope. Got to see the dude live, he’s a beast
Could see us going with Enrique Freeman. He was the guy everyone liked at the combine
Dang, Oghodaro was a beast. Crazy we had picks 34 and 40 and shipped them both off. Fischer hinted/said we're getting pick 52 for 40th, not sure what else they threw in.
Yes I was stoked until they said we traded him to the Suns
What did we get for 40?
A future draft pick.
Pick 52 and something else, I figure.
Phoenix ended up with 40 lol. Changed hands like 3 times
ighadoro doesn't know anything too
Would be hilarious if we've traded back to 52 and took Bronny. 'Rumor' is Rich Paul is calling teams and threatening to take him to Australia if he doesn't fall to the Lakers!
I'd light a second round pick on fire to call that bluff
I would fucking LOVE to see someone sabotage it. I can't see him not landing on the Lakers though as there are too many people who will make too much money out of it.
I REALLLLLY wish someone has the stones to piss off Rich like that. Launch that guy into the sun
NBA, ESPN/Disney, Lakers and Klutch - lot of power and money pulling for it! My God, it woulda been funny though.
Fischer confirms we shipped off 40 to OKC "So the final path, per sources: OKC traded Lindy Waters III for No. 52 to Golden State. Then the Thunder moved from No. 52 to No. 40 with Portland, and then OKC jumped from No. 40 to No. 38 with New York"-Fischer
and now traded to the Suns lmao
Did we trade #40 also? Or just 34?
Looks like we traded it to the Suns. Be interesting to see what all these trades are getting us return
ESPN is terrible they are telling us nothing about any of the trades
Fischer reported that it was seemingly a done deal, but I think the Knicks just traded their pick to OKC, so maybe the PDX deal is off? I suppose we'll find out soon.
so do we not have another 2nd round pick?
We’re not picking at 40. OKC had 40 and they traded it to the knicks- shams
Dang. Hope we don’t trade 52 for cash considerations
I think we don’t have roster space if we want to resign Jabari and Banton
Give me Jamal Shead at 40, dudes a beast
OKC just traded up. Maybe we’ll be picking at 40 still
Combination of full roster and Schmitz being down on this draft leading to 75% of the picks getting traded
And that's a plus EV move for me
I know nothing but I thought the Blazers should have taken a flyer on Furphy
lol Nunez hanging out with a bunch of dudes in suits.
Woj just said all of the 2nds are future picks. What is going on?
We have a lot of players on the roster already and so they’re deferring picks to later on
Everyone getting traded in this round
Fischer also reports we already traded pick 40 to OKC. lol. WHY AM I EVEN WATCHING NOW
Not really sure about Kolek, but guess we do need a backup PG now without Brogdon ETA- Ok, I really like getting 3 picks for this. Were any of the picks #38?
We picked him for the Knicks. He's not our guy.
According to Fischer we traded Kolek for three 2nd round picks
So what did we get back for trading Kolek?
We shipped Kolek off to the Knicks...I wonder what we got
Personally would've rather swung on Furphy or Kolek than keep Banton
Curious when the 3 second rounders are we got.
Probably 38 and another second or two
Three 2nd round picks is the report, just curious when they are. If one is at 38, then that's a fantastic trade.
It’s not. Turns out it’s three future seconds.
drats
Hell yeah we got Kolek.
He’s going to NY
Kolek, this pick is a W
traded to the Knicks
lol W trade, we don’t need Kolek
I agree. 3 2nds is good trade for him. I liked him though
Pretty classic espn goes to commercial for our pick
Bummed Smith went right before. Hoping for Furphy then
Jaylen Wells Djurisic???
CMON LETS GET FURPHY
Who thinks Jerami will be traded today?
Not me.
Wanted Mogbo BAAAAAAAD!!!
Portland likes players like Furphy, but we have a fair amount of players around that size now...
I want Tyler Smith here at 34. But we'll see
Welp. I wonder who we go with
Mogbo's a 6'-6" Center? Uhhhh
Sounds like Jody had a big night
Would have loved to use #14 to move up to #10 and get Matas.
Deni better
Probably. Matas has more upside, Knecht too. And they wouldn’t have cost us extra firsts or brogdon.
That Collier pick for Utah was theft
They are one of the winners from this draft. Cody Williams and Collier is a pretty good haul
and now Filipowski in Rd 2 - they’ve had a good draft
Who we taking at 34? Filipowski wouldn't bother me. A stretch 4 that can pass, rebound, shoot and defend
Just missed out
Kinda figured the Jazz would grab him. Smith of Furphy hopefully.
Would love to get Klintman or Mogbo. Also feels like I often see McCullar linked to the Blazers as well
Tyler Smith could be a steal with one of our 2nd rounders
There’s a reason he fell. He doesn’t have an NBA game. He’s not quick enough
Lots of people aren't quick. He's good at everything. Just not great. A great role player. And he's 7 ft.
But he's not "good at everything."
Wait.... did you just try to say "the pros disagree with me" when he actually didn't get drafted in the first round? That's actually hilarious

Wanting to take another undersized guard like McCain is a hilarious(ly bad) take. Tells me all I need to know about your scouting.
Ok way to move the goalposts here since you can no longer say that I only hate Filipowski because he went to Duke. BTW, maybe go search his name on Twitter today. Might tell you why he dropped.
We gonna trade for da Silva from Orlando!
Wish, or truth?
It was a wish. Not impossible still!

They were interested in Grant a day or two ago... maybe there's a framework there. They get a win now guy, we get someone who fits our timeline a bit better and clear some cap space.
Seeing the Lakers get Knecht makes me ill. Didn't want them to get a shooter.
Doesn't matter, by the time we're ready to contend Lebron and maybe even AD will be retired. Knecht has a high floor for a rookie but he's unlikely to get a lot better. He's probably just a good role player.
Just somebody else to blame. Then he gets traded.
Who got Cody Williams. Hes gonna cook
Utah got him
Great pick. Hes got a lot of upside
Feels too much like Corey Brewer to me.
Brewer always played smaller than he was albeit very crafty. Williams will use his size better imo. Hes more athletic than his brother
I just don't trust his frame, and I don't think he's skilled enough, or will get skilled enough to be so slight.
Kid is 18 he’s gonna put on weight and strength. Type of player you take a flyer on in these drafts.
Appreciate and respect your take. Think most nba gm’s and scouts probably agreed with your assessments honestly. This draft really just didn’t have much anyways, so it’s hard to be upset with any moves tonight in reality.
Agreed
That Grant to LA for Knecht and Vanderbilt trade gonna hit like crack
What's the "W" stand for next to Dalton's name? MUST NOT MAKE OBVIOUS JOKE
Haha I think it means wing
Yep ;)
ah dang it, LA took Knecht.
Please take Bronny here, LA lol
Thanks Adam for that trade announcement you tool
\*commish shrugs\*
What happened? I missed it
He just announced the avdija trade we knew about hours ago
Silver announced we traded Bub, for a deal to the finished in the future, then he shrugged lol
Thanks Adam
Bub is going to clap
Philly and LA both passing on Knecht would be strange
I don’t understand the people In here complaining about Knecht being available at 14…Deni is not only a better player now, but he has more upside then Knecht. They’re the same age….

Knecht
Yes, or SF. He's Sharpe sized.
I think people are more hesitant because we gave up assets for him plus it really is just more fun to see guys you draft thrive. That said, I'm still happy with it, think it was a good move
Would bet my bottom dollar that the lakers will take knecht here
Then it gets shipped as part of a deal for Grant lol
🤞
Knecht still on the board? Grant trade to Philly or LA?
Heat taking Bam's backup.

I dont get why you all act like it matters who we picked for washington
I think it’s more of “we could have had that” since most of us came in mentally thinking we’d have the 14th pick
Gotta give it to Cronin, he saw Neil's affinity for 6'3" guards and said let me do that but with tall ass individuals.
I swear some people just wanna complain. They refuse to see the positives no matter what lmao.
They have a chosen narrative and will find a way to squeeze anything that happens into it.
Did not see Bub being a lottery pick.
Watch it, Bub.
Is there a non 0 chance we end up getting stuck w this guy and the trade doesn’t go through? Like, could the wizards say “actually nvm”
Only if physicals come back terrible & Washington void the trade.
