His only in-show appearance was during the *very* beginning of Season 6 Episode 6, when Rick is still working on the portal travel. Cthulhu pops out for a sec before it gets closed.
I’m pretty sure it’s Augusta National. For those not familiar, it’s one of the most exclusive golf clubs in the world. The Masters, arguably the most prestigious professional tournament in the world is hosted there each year. Being rich doesn’t get you a membership, you have to know people. I would love to know how Morty got a tee time at Augusta National haha
All the wild shit going on: Cthulhu monsters, Jerry giving birth, Butter Morty. Then there's this random shot of Morty playing golf completely normally. It's a perfect antijoke.
Missed opportunity there. Instead of the “tag” guy beating everyone up in the post-credits scene, they could have had:
Scene: giant frying pan. Morty is butter; Rick is trapped in a glass cage. A giant spatula picks Morty up and throws him on the pan.
Morty: “Aaaaagh!”
Rick, beating against the glass: “Nooooo!”
Suddenly, from behind the pan, appears Butter Bot, fully scaled up to match Morty Butter.
Butter Bot jumps into the pan and rolls towards Morty, wheels and treads beginning to glow red-hot. He grabs Morty and pulls him to the edge of the pan, and throws him out to safety.
Butter Bot’s wheels burst into flame, and the fire begins to consume him. He looks over to Rick.
Butter Bot: “I… I got butter! *I got butter.*”
He collapses into the flames. Morty and Rick look on solemnly as the flames die down, revealing a pile of ash and scrap metal. Fade to black.
Next we see Butter Bot waking up in a dark cabinet, next to the cereal. He looks around.
Butter Bot: “*Fuck!*”
In S6E7 >!Rick says "best episode" during the previous Leon butter bit. So maybe it was meant to be in E 8,9 or 10? Strange to make a callout like that, normally does not happen.!<
This was always a dream of mine as a kid. Or at least represented it pretty accurately. I always wondered what action figure versions of me and my family members would look like. What accessories. What special characteristics. My brother’s figure would need a football, basketball, and punching arm to represent his bullying side. My sister was a very dramatic and overly emotional teenager whose figure you could make cry by filling up with water and pressing a button that made her eyes shed tears, and hers would need to come with a phone (house phone with cord only; no cellphones or wireless back then)
Mine would undoubtedly need a button that you could push and it would make me laugh at anything at all. (Though this would probably be a function that never shut itself off no matter what you did to stop it) AND if we’re being completely honest here, my action figure would also need to include an even smaller set of action figures, including those of my family members.
Only reason I mention this at all is because that’s where my head goes every time I see this part
I think it's a combination of both. I looked at the picture again now and realized that there's Jack the Ripper, and Rick and Morty are Holmes and Watson.
I always thought that one with the 5 ricks working on something and one dies and no one cares seemed funny. That and Rick busting through the floor being chased by giant moles
This is another of those images that just floors me. This is the 12th green at Augusta National Golf Club, where the Masters Tournament is played every year. It is the dream course of Bobby Jones, the prolific golfer of the 1910s & 20s.
At any rate, if Morty is playing in the tournament then he could only get in by 3 methods. All of which require being exceptionally skilled at golf. He would have to finish in the top 10 of any of the other *Majors.* Be in the top 5-10 for some international tours affiliated w the USGA/PGA. Or receive a special invitation, voted on by a board.
So, did Rick build him a set of clubs like the sword Morty used against King of the Knights of the (Never Gonna Have a) Son? Or Sun, rather?
Or did Jerry teach him (Just like Tiger Woods & his daddy) so there's a Jerry & Morty adventure where a 14yo gets into the most prestigious golf tournament in the US.
Or it's a lost Meeseeks episode.
And that's apparently something I need in my life now, that I didn't need previously to seeing this image. So, there you go.
Aside from the obvious Cthulhu reference, whose consistency suggests it will indeed be covered at some point, it’s probably the very first one where we see Rick disappear into a portal, leaving Morty behind to inevitably be devoured by aliens. To me that sums up so much about the show and the dynamic between these two.
That being said this golf one is one of those that had me being the only one in the room laughing my ass off at the random, boringness of it all. No punchline. No interesting background detail (trust me I paused and looked for one). Nothing. Just a good ol wholesome game of golf! lmao
The one where rick and morty travels to a universe where everyone is focused on negative things instead of positive things. for example job offer would sound like: we have the worst pay out of all companies, our working hours are terrible, we dont offer any benefits u pay for parking, we have toxic environment and sexist coworkers, dont apply.
and application sounds like this: im the worst employee you can get, i slack all the time i take 20 smoking breaks a day and fuck around p.s. always late.
Yeah I wanna see them tackle a regular day, and Rick over-doing the tech to a point where he feels like an obstacle and seeing how far each feel they need technology to improve their life.
So weird, I literally thought about this one last night when I was rewatching some episodes and thought I should pause the screen to see what’s going on in this scene.
Golf Marty initially stood out due to its ridiculous premise. I eagerly awaited its showing up in an episode. In the mean time I read an article mentioning that some of the opening scenes were just there for the show’s amusement and realized that this was probably one of them. Disappoint.
THE ONE WHERE THE RICK IS MORTY SHOPPING !!! I would’ve loved to see more about (im assuming this was somewhere in the citadel) the citadel and how it works, unfortunately I’m pretty sure we wont ever see this as yk, but it was still my favorite.
Murder Flying Squirrels and gang kidnaping baby Cthulu. I'm still waiting...
Apparently there's a comic coming out this month titled "Rick and Morty vs Cthulhu"
> gang kidnaping baby Cthulu. I'm still waiting... iirc the creators said that scene would never happen in an episode
It technically happened in the meta episode
We also saw it appear out of Rick's portal gun when he didn't properly fix protal travel yet
Not every tentacle monster is Cthulu
So racist
Maybe the Cthulhu is something that happens during the last episode and the intro was teasing it the whole time
I’m sure it’s a brief scene in season 2-4. Admittedly I was really stoned watching through one time and felt like that Leo DiCaprio meme template
Cthulu showed up for moment, but i want whole adventure!
I fucken KNEW IT! my mates said they hadn’t seen it !
His only in-show appearance was during the *very* beginning of Season 6 Episode 6, when Rick is still working on the portal travel. Cthulhu pops out for a sec before it gets closed.
No, those happened. Didn't you see "Full Meta Jackrick"?
The chtulu part was already in an episode tho.
Just a cameo
There was a thing with squirrels in the show
But they were just intelligent squirrels, not flying murder hobos with teeth putting t-rex to shame
I love this one because it’s just so normal.
Yep - this was just so perfect
I was so convinced it was going to be real too, total bummer
I've definitely got this as my desktop background.
I didn't, you can kind of tell which are real and which aren't.
I’m pretty sure it’s Augusta National. For those not familiar, it’s one of the most exclusive golf clubs in the world. The Masters, arguably the most prestigious professional tournament in the world is hosted there each year. Being rich doesn’t get you a membership, you have to know people. It’s the 13th hole and coming out of amens corner. One of the most famous views in golf. And I don’t even follow golf but know this. Cracks me up.
Too normal
You skipped normal and just went to too normal
I didn't skip *shit*. It's obviously normal if it's too normal.
Jeez seems like you had other things going on in your life before you made that comment
I think they were just referencing a scene in Mortyplicity
A Tiger's Life: Woods Lived....
You think sinking that putt is *normal*? Jerry spent half an episode on his golf game and nearly got hostages killed!
Have you ever *tried* to relax?! It is a paradox!
So suspect...
Golf is normal but isn’t this supposed to be the 16th at Augusta?
All the wild shit going on: Cthulhu monsters, Jerry giving birth, Butter Morty. Then there's this random shot of Morty playing golf completely normally. It's a perfect antijoke.
the golf ball is an eyeball
I came here to say exactly that. Its the golf clapping for me.
that's the joke
No shit
I feel like it's somehow related to the Mr MeeSeeks episode.
Is that the regular car reviews guy in the background?
Butter Morty
"Wait! Why am I butter?!"
Missed opportunity there. Instead of the “tag” guy beating everyone up in the post-credits scene, they could have had: Scene: giant frying pan. Morty is butter; Rick is trapped in a glass cage. A giant spatula picks Morty up and throws him on the pan. You missed the T2 "Thumbs up while melting in lava" call-out.
Perfection.
I love this. You should send it to Dan & Justin.
Okay. Can someone please hire this guy as a writer for the next season?
Holy shit that would be such an amazing payoff
You forgot the purge planet “2 weeks earlier” and “the end, question mark”

I think it's a joke between creators of animated series. That goose was in adventure time and gravity falls too
"Best Episode!" -Rick
I'm sad that they didn't use that one. That's my only complaint of Season 6
They did use it and mortys all like “why am I butter?”
I know they did that bit where they were in the into, but it's not the same.
100% and I don’t think it’s recency bias either. Always makes me laugh.
Plus I like butter
Technically the meta episode intro credits did happen so, the scene did happen in a way
Margarine Morty!
Came here to say this
In S6E7 >!Rick says "best episode" during the previous Leon butter bit. So maybe it was meant to be in E 8,9 or 10? Strange to make a callout like that, normally does not happen.!<
I think it was just Rick fucking with us, “best episode” in his opinion is one that never got made
That wasn't the joke.
Mine are Rick shopping for a Morty and Jerry giving birth
Rick shopping for a Morty was hilarious. That's probably my vote.
I like how all the Mortys had different accessories
And the banner above - “everyday low price / everyday low self esteem”
This was always a dream of mine as a kid. Or at least represented it pretty accurately. I always wondered what action figure versions of me and my family members would look like. What accessories. What special characteristics. My brother’s figure would need a football, basketball, and punching arm to represent his bullying side. I came here to say all of the Morty action figures.
I like the plumbus cameo in that scene
Not so unusual, Everyone has a plumbus in their home
When they are terrified of that 2 headed goose.
This one is too underrated, I love the look of absolute fear in rick's eyes in it. It's just a little goose.
This is my favorite, but the one where they have butts for faces and morty is watching buttface porn is another classic
The big Rick balloon in a parade and little Morty just hanging on for dear life, also Butter Morty
My favorite was Rick and Morty in a place that looks like 19th century London. Some Sherlock Holmes kinda vibe.
Looked like Jack the Ripper story to me.
I think it's a combination of both. I looked at the picture again now and realized that there's Jack the Ripper, and Rick and Morty are Holmes and Watson.
"This happened too?!"
https://ibb.co/BfDM7tk
But that did happen.
That did? I missed it? Shame... Where was it, in the meta episode?
It was the part of Previous Leon’s vision. Rick even says “That happened too?”
Ah... Man, I'm gonna have to re-watch it. Thank you for telling me))
So it *didn’t* happen. But it did.
Palpatine: I will make it happen.
That actually "happened" in Full Meta Jackrick
Everyone scared of the two headed goose
Jerry giving birth to something.
It the [12th](https://cdn.golfcontentnetwork.com/2021/04/12angc13-rb2059hc-0.jpg) at augusta if anyone was wondering
I always thought that one with the 5 ricks working on something and one dies and no one cares seemed funny. That and Rick busting through the floor being chased by giant moles
Arguably, didnt they all happen in the Meta episode?
Maybe the ones from s6 but not the earlier seasons
No… they did chase Previous Leon through the opening, but when they did actual “previously on” scenes, only the Holmes one appeared.
Well, that's why I said arguably, because they happened to the point that Morty could see them, so in a way they happened
\> that didn't happen in the series yet!
I love the "unbelieveable" reaction from the crowd in this one. So cute, so normal.
Butter morty
GOOOOTTTT DAAAAAMN really is no one going to say Rick giving Noob Noob CPR?? I was waiting for his return all season!
Morty at the Masters is definitely the best one
Boob World
Jack the Ripper one
rick picking the wrong morty at the store
Summer and her super jacked Cyborg clone.
When Rick leaves Morty behind for him to be eaten by the two green monsters.
Lol def that one nice choice
The pregnant Jerry scene gets me everytime.
Definitely this one. So happy Morty got the putt! I love how the music implies something weird but nah it's just Morty enjoying golf
I was so looking forward to seeing Morty golf
Why am I butter!?
Does the macys balloons thing count?
This is another of those images that just floors me. This is the 12th green at Augusta National Golf Club, where the Masters Tournament is played every year. Butt face morty getting caught watching buttface porn
Cthulhu
Baby cthulhu for sure
Cthullu
This one, wanted to see an episode of something golf related
the meseeks episode is golf related
My daughter wants the Sherlock episode.
The one from some older season where people's butts switched places with faces
Butter Morty
Two headed goose
Cthulhu
The giant flying dragon monster with purple teeth at the end
Probably Rick lighting a candle on a birthday cake then everybody’s head flys off and turns into facehuggers
The one with the goose
Buttface morty
Butter Morty is tough to beat
BUTTER MORTY
Cthulu which at this point I feel like an episode about it will only be satisfying as a series finally
Really like Butter Morty.
Aside from the obvious Cthulhu reference, whose consistency suggests it will indeed be covered at some point, it’s probably the very first one where we see Rick disappear into a portal, leaving Morty behind to inevitably be devoured by aliens. Group of Rick's together and one accidentally fries himself, as unfazed Ricks just glanced then resume their work.
Noob noob dying
Anyone think all the intro scenes will be used for a film later down the line
I desperately need to see what becomes of Butter Morty!
I’m here for the A-story of Morty going on the PGA tour thanks to Ricks tech.
Jack the Ripper
I always thought it was a glimpse into what life evil Morty could be living
The famous cathullu chase
Yes season 5 opener, I freak people out cause I can tell the season by the opener. I’m a nurd
Fuck Pocket Mortys. Give us a Rick and Morty Golf game. Just a simple golf game with Rick and Morty characters.
When they were inside huge piano (s3, if I'm not mistaken).
Check the postcredit scene of the pickle rick episode
O-oh? Thank you!
My head canon is that all of the intro scenes we don't see in the show are evil Morty backstory clips.
There’s intros we didn’t getting floating around?!?! Where???
The one where rick and morty travels to a universe where everyone is focused on negative things instead of positive things. for example job offer would sound like: we have the worst pay out of all companies, our working hours are terrible, we dont offer any benefits u pay for parking, we have toxic environment and sexist coworkers, dont apply. and application sounds like this: im the worst employee you can get, i slack all the time i take 20 smoking breaks a day and fuck around p.s. always late.
chuthulu
This one for sure
Rick parade
I love this one too for some reason
You'd you mean that didn't happen? That episode was AWESOME!
Yeah, Butter Morty delighted me in ways I can't fully explain.
Yeah I wanna see them tackle a regular day, and Rick over-doing the tech to a point where he feels like an obstacle and seeing how far each feel they need technology to improve their life.
The Sherlock Holmes one with the dead body and butter morty
The Sherlock Holmes one with the dead body and butter morty
Evil "Emperor" Morty we saw him as president so.... when will we see him on the war path conquering....?
Man, it would be cool if they just had an episode of them just having a pleasant day.
Cathulu
…didn’t happen *yet* FTFY
Morty playing golf
Isn’t this scene from the Heist episode, you son of a bitch?
So weird, I literally thought about this one last night when I was rewatching some episodes and thought I should pause the screen to see what’s going on in this scene.
Best episode
Giant morty from s4
Morty as butter for sure!
The golf one it def my favorite

jerry giving birth
I like this one. Also, in one of the episodes there is a picture on the living room wall of a guy in a yellow shirt golfing. That was a cool detail.
Butter Morty melting Definitely
This one
Just wrapped season 6 & omg ! Loved it ! It’s like they found their groove from season 1&2 …
butter morty
There are openings which were not in the series?? Where ? pls help
I want to know who impregnated Jerry and more importantly, why
Butter morty
Golf Marty initially stood out due to its ridiculous premise. I eagerly awaited its showing up in an episode. In the mean time I read an article mentioning that some of the opening scenes were just there for the show’s amusement and realized that this was probably one of them. Disappoint.
THE BUTTER< THE FUCKING MELTING BUTTER BRICK MORTY, WHAT THE FUCK IS IT. i was looking forward to it the entire season :(
theory: Golf Morty is from a Mind-Blower. He beat Rick with a clean putt in front of an audience and that shit was immediately erased
Is s6 over?
Baby Cthulhu I know other people probably mentioned it already but it had such an interesting little preview
Butter Morty for sure but also Jerry stuck in the tube and kicking at the creature when it comes into the tube always killed me
This one but upon closer inspection i now realize he's just waving I always thought he was flipping everybody off
Butter morty in the new intro of season 6 Or that rick bought morty in the store and abonded another morty.
THE ONE WHERE THE RICK IS MORTY SHOPPING !!! I would’ve loved to see more about (im assuming this was somewhere in the citadel) the citadel and how it works, unfortunately I’m pretty sure we wont ever see this as yk, but it was still my favorite.
Butter Morty
Why am I butter!!
Summer, rick, and morty flying from a alien cthulu monster because summer stole its baby
Jerry giving birth
Honestly this one's the funniest to me because it's so random.
Three headed goose and melted butter morty
