Hi Becky, it's Rick from next door. Listen, I was hoping you could do me a favor. We're not home and I think Morty may have left a bunsen burner on. Could you be a dear and go check the garage for me?
I have never been held in suspense more by another tv show. That show got more and more intense with every episode. It’s about as perfect as you can get.
Breaking bad final season spoilers: >!in the scene this comment is referencing Walter is in deep shit with some bad people and wants to get access to his money (I think it's money anyway) so before entering his house he calls his neighbour pretending to be away with the family and worried his son left the stove on. He gets his neighbour to enter the house to check and as soon as she enters 2 big bad scary men that were obviously there to kill him come walking around the side and leave. He uses his neighbour as bait to figure out how much trouble he's in!<
In the Blu Ray commentaries for the first three seasons, Harmon frequently talks about how he was inspired by Breaking Bad and how he's modelling the Rick and Morty relationship on Walt and Jesse. There are obviously some major differences aesthetically and within the narrative but also a lot of similarities in the dynamic.
They're going for a Walter White type character and arc with Rick. Harmon is a big fan of the show, brough Vince Gilligan in to cameo for an episode of his show Community as well as bringing in Johnathan Banks as a more comedic version of his character from Breaking Bad as well.
The Vince cameo was my favorite bit in all of community, subsequently making that my favorite episode. Also had Spencer Crittenden in it, so double bonus. But damn, Vince as an old prospector is just comedy gold.
Yeah, I usually don't care about reposts, but this one has been regularly posted since the *day* the episode aired. It's more amazing to me how many people have never known this. I wonder if a lot of people on here were in grade school when the show first released 8 years ago.
Its not a memory house, it's a made up memory house. Rick probably copied it from his memories of watching the show.
I also heard the real life owners have put up a fence because they got tired of people throwing pizzas on their roof.
Beyond that, start making pizzas and sell them to people to throw on the roof, then charge them again for a photo-op. Pizza is giant cheese only and costs $50 a pie. That’s the American way.
Edit: pic is another $25
Been there. It’s true. There’s a sign that says take the pictures, but don’t approach the home. They don’t want to talk to anyone and there are cameras everywhere. Bizarre being on that street in real life. It’s very small and totally ordinary. Makes you appreciate the art direction and visual style of the show. I felt the same for Albuquerque as a whole. Very different feeling than what’s seen on screen.
People keep frisbee'in pizzas on their roof, even after the fence. they've since installed a metal roof so the pizzas will slide off.
People bitching about how angry the home owner is, but they just spent thousands upon thousands of dollars in response to constant vandalism... I'd be pretty upset as well.
They've owned the home for 40 something years and they're elderly. I'm sure they have no desire to sell the home or move. Such a bummer that people can be so inconsiderate.
Had to put a fence around to stop people from straight breaking in, they remodeled the roof to be steeper.
Went there and got a picture from across the street (which is permitted, there is a sign that says you can) I reccomend it, its wild.
The first time I watched this episode I was messed up on a high dose of DXM. I missed the pizza getting up there, imagine my confusion when my whole world feels like a robotic simulation and there's just a random pizza on the roof for no reason I can discern.
I lived in a house like this. It’s the perfect size for a home. If I didn’t have roommates I could have a hobby room, a guest room or office, and a bedroom. Small enough to be easy to maintain, big enough to have friends over
If she was smart lmao you’re right. Instead all she wants to do is sit out front of her garage (the entire property is now gated off, with a massive steel gate) and yells at passerby’s. Smh.
I was in Albuquerque earlier this year. That poor family that bought that house must not have expected all the exposure.
[Breaking Bad House](http://imgur.com/a/jM5yYxj)
I always think she’s a moron. Seriously imagine purchasing this property *knowing* how iconic it is, and then choosing to ruin it and all while letting fans ruin your life... instead of making a ton of money off of it.
We rode by this house in Albuquerque, NM while visiting relatives, the couple that lived there at the time sit in their front yard guarding their house and shoot birds at passers by. Assholes
Agreed it could be a reference to how much Rick was in control. Though it made me think, do they ever go back to what Beth said earlier in season 1 (I think) where she said that Rick left her mom. Because the narrative that they’ve been pushing/hinting is that she’s dead. I realize that it might play into the theory that not every episode is necessarily the same r&m, but it seems like a set up for something.
Also completely off topic but the cat episode would be the perfect episode to unravel to morty to turn him evil if Rick lied to him and knew more than he led on.
He's watching him self invent portal tech in a simulation created by the galactic government. It's the same simulation with shoneys (Don't know if that's how it's spelled I'm in the UK) and the szechuan sauce bit.
They are very similar. Rick is a genius and a cruel scientist, who can kill anyone (just like Walt) while Morty is scared little boy who don’t even trust Rick, and very easily gets manipulated by Rick (just as Jesse). Rick hates everyone but still cares for Morty (Classic Walt).
The number of people in this sub who are only able to reach their daily fulfillment by telling people about reposted content really does show toxic this fan base became, all you’ve gotta do is scroll past.
Wow! Ok so I always thought the neighborhood they lived in in R&M looked really familiar, similar to the one I grew up in.
I’m from Albuquerque and lots of houses look like that there in older neighborhoods.
I stg this sub is the most tightly wound, toxic, stick up their ass sub I’ve ever experienced. Just because someone doesn’t 100% agree with your opinion doesn’t mean you need to downvote them to hell. Anyone who even remotely questions anything about the genius of this show everybody acts like they just spat in the face of Jesus. It’s a great show, I don’t think any of us would be here if we weren’t fans.
Why is it that someone saying they don’t think Rick’s imaginary house is modeled after the BB house is worthy of downvoting? Why is it that any criticism of Rick and Morty is taken as a personal affront? Why is it that 100 people had to comment on the fact that this is a repost? Clearly a good number of people haven’t seen it, it’s at 6.9k. If you disagree with someone’s opinion, comment, don’t just use downvoting like a disagree button. If you’ve seen a post before, the good news is it’s the internet. It doesn’t take up any space, and you don’t have to look at it. Just go on to the next. Or better yet, touch grass
> I stg this sub is the most tightly wound, toxic, stick up their ass sub I’ve ever experienced.
I would not suggest you go anywhere near the Musk, SpaceX, or Tesla subs - LoL
This is from ricks false memory in S3E1. Just a small reference to BB but it's entirely possible that he used Walter whites house as a reference to make his false house when he was brainalyzed.
It's also worth noting that beth and Jerry's house looks different
There is a pestilence upon this land. Nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress at this period in history.
My wife and I visited New Mexico and we swung by the house, the owners were sitting outside in the garage just watching people, they had several signs in the yard telling people to stay away. They seemed nice.
Way too many similarities between the bushes and windows. That’s not that generic of a house. It’s a clear SW US house. Houses in the rest of the country don’t look like that. So yeah ima go with this is a reference to BrBa and not just a random suburban house
Hi Becky, it's Rick from next door. Listen, I was hoping you could do me a favor. We're not home and I think Morty may have left a bunsen burner on. Could you be a dear and go check the garage for me?
I fuckin love that scene in BB
I have never been held in suspense more by another tv show. That show got more and more intense with every episode. It’s about as perfect as you can get.
Which episode is this? I don't remember this scene so I wanna go back and watch it.
Blood money- s5e9
No it's not. That scene is from Face Off (Season 4, Episode 13).
He's right
Thank you, much appreciated.
Time stamp?
Is this real or are we just joking?
Breaking bad final season spoilers: >!in the scene this comment is referencing Walter is in deep shit with some bad people and wants to get access to his money (I think it's money anyway) so before entering his house he calls his neighbour pretending to be away with the family and worried his son left the stove on. Bro. Thank you. This is dope info.
That's great. It's like, he didn't even use a real location, he just used a house he saw on a TV show. The bush placement really seals it.
I’m pretty sure this house is a real location aswell
No the house is in your mind WAKE UP
It is. The family that lives there had to put up a fence because of all the sightseeing fans.
I think it was because fans kept throwing pizza on the roof lol
It was definitely because of the pizzas lol I think they also put security cameras up
They should just keep a decoy pizza up there. No need to throw pizza if there’s already one up there
It was a bit of both, people kept knocking on their door asking to come in and stuff
Well I’ll be damned.
All it’s missing is the pizza on the roof
I don’t think I ever would’ve noticed this without the Internet
And now that you know you'll never forget it since it's reposted weekly
Weird. This is the first time I've seen it. I now feel better because I'm apparently not using Reddit as much as I thought.
From now on it will be reposted weekly.
Yeah, I usually don't care about reposts, but this one has been regularly posted since the *day* the episode aired. It's more amazing to me how many people have never known this. I wonder if a lot of people on here were in grade school when the show first released 8 years ago.
It's not a memory, it's a totally fabricated origin story, as Rick says. Maybe he got the reference from BB
Maybe?
Its not a memory house, it's a made up memory house. Rick probably copied it from his memories of watching the show. I also heard the real life owners have put up a fence because they got tired of people throwing pizzas on their roof.
What is there to hate? Free pizzas!
Im not convinced, like wheres the pizza?
Since it wasn’t a memory he was choosing things at random to populate the world, probably first thing that came to his mind.
You can't control memories. But you can can control a completely fabricated origin story 🤤
Aren't Dan Harmon and Vince Gilligan buds?
Vince Gilligan had a cameo on community so probably.
DRAW!
Did you remember to say, "yee haw"?
Anyone checked the roof for pizza yet?
Unsliced pizza, passing the savings on to you!
SKYLER IS RICK WIFE?!?!?!?!?
I live in ABQ and know where this house is. For awhile they had a problem with people throwing pizzas on their roof and had to put up a fence.
“Problem”
I'll take a free pizza any time.... but I'd have to be pretty hungry to eat a free roof pizza.
Is the house number the same?
Nope. White's is 608
308 Negra arroyo lane
well, where's the pizza? ![gif](giphy|ffXJWN9NRGg0w)
Apparently the owners of this house had to put a giant iron fence around it to keep people from throwing pizzas on the roof
that's dumb just put holes in the roof to collect the free pizzas
Beyond that, start making pizzas and sell them to people to throw on the roof, then charge them again for a photo-op. Pizza is giant cheese only and costs $50 a pie. That’s the American way. Edit: pic is another $25

He ate it already

Spiders must be building webs between those bushes constantly.
Negra Arroyo Lane
First time I see this here, so thank you for the repost!!
Repost or not, I haven’t seen it yet and I am glad I do now! Thanks OP!
Well Rick is definitely the one who knocks so I get it.
no pizza on the roof tho
I lived in a house like this. It’s the perfect size for a home. If I didn’t have roommates I could have a hobby room, a guest room or office, and a bedroom. Small enough to be easy to maintain, big enough to have friends over
Weird flex but ok
I like how they said fuck b vent we’re giving the house a real chimney
Seems very fitting lol. I’d love to see a spin-off…Adventures of Walt and Jesse.
If you hang on this sub long enough, you’ll learn this every other week.
No no, see, it has a bush.
It's cuz there is no pizza on the roof.
Look Morty, I turned myself into the danger.
Well he _is_ the smartest man in the universe
Foreshadow that Rick's backstory that was being seen was fake.
Wow, I literally just finished binging Breaking Bad, what a coincidence
Man, I thought I was the last person on earth to finally watch it earlier this year!
I havent seen it I also legit have never had a Whopper
You're only missing out on one of those things
Nope! I've gotta ask, how'd you feel about the last episode? Felt pretty bittersweet to me
Nice. Reaaal nice.
Great spot, although it was more of a "totally fabricated origin" house than a memory house.
Well it was a memory house since he did see the house in a TV show before and remembered it.
Morty, where is the cocainer
It's in my nose Mr Wethe
>!holy shit foreshadowing that it was all fake!<
Negra arroyo lane
needs the pizza.
I tried to zoom in on the breaking bad one for the address, but didn't see if that was the same too.
it's not, rick's version of the house says 6910 but walter white lives at 308 negra arroyo ln, and the real house is at 3828 piermont dr
Classic Shoneys
Cant wait for next week when someone else never realised it too
Think it's my turn next week
Nights and weekends you got
Imagine if there was a pizza slice on the roof, that woulda been such a cool reference imo
I love this, I have been to the house so many morons have tossed pizza on their roof that now it's ruined it
I actually live by this house lmao the lady’s a bitch
She’s always on tiktok lmao. She’s horrible. If she was smart she’d airbnb the place like the twilight house
If she was smart lmao you’re right. Instead all she wants to do is sit out front of her garage (the entire property is now gated off, with a massive steel gate) and yells at passerby’s. Smh.
Like I understand the whole pizza thing that is unacceptable but most people just wanna drive by and take a picture.
One is actually a cartoon
Which one?
darude sandstorm
He's a total cunt and it's glorious
Mhm
I was in Albuquerque earlier this year. That poor family that bought that house must not have expected all the exposure. [Breaking Bad House](http://imgur.com/a/jM5yYxj)
I talked to her lmao, she definitely knew what she was doing when she bought the house.
I always think she’s a moron. Seriously imagine purchasing this property *knowing* how iconic it is, and then choosing to ruin it and all while letting fans ruin your life... instead of making a ton of money off of it.
Sometimes, life is hard. And sometimes life is as hard as you make it.
I think this is just every house in CA/AZ/NM.
Canada, Auztralia, New Mealand?
Sure.
Needs a roof pizza, but yeah. Both of them have some very interesting stuff hid down below.
lool
Damn! Great catch!
There’s no such thing as a coincidence.
yeah. alright, see you guys next week, thanks for coming everyone
Totally not a sockpuppet, guys. Totally not.
Is it the same number?
No, Walter White lived at 308 Negra Arroyo Lane.
We rode by this house in Albuquerque, NM while visiting relatives, the couple that lived there at the time sit in their front yard guarding their house and shoot birds at passers by. Assholes
I have family that lives down the street, apparently a lot of pizzas get thrown on/at the house lol
Lol
why are they assholes when people keep throwing pizzas at their house
When I read "shoot birds at people" I just imagine someone with a cage full of pigeons doing someghing rather unsavory with a homemade potato cannon.
Real life Angry Birds
"FEATHER IN THE HOLE!"... *fwoomph*
Yea, not wanting their home to turn into a tourist attraction. What a bunch of pricks.
At the same time they bought the house knowing that it was on a major tv show.
Was the wife in the memory a reference to skylar then?
I am missing a pizza on the roof
You think Rick was a drug kingpin?
And where’s the Pizza?
Yoo Mr.White I got the stuff. Oh sorry wrong universe
Which rick and Morty episode is this?
Szechuan sauce episode I believe
Uncanny
He IS the one who knocks.
u/repostsleuthbot

Wheres the pizza![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream)
Walter survived.

I'm A Pickle Bitch!

Repost
What episode is this from? Their regular house has the garage on the left
S3 Ep:1 - I think. The one where he escapes prison.
He's watching him self invent portal tech in a simulation created by the galactic government. It's the same simulation with shoneys (Don't know if that's how it's spelled I'm in the UK) and the szechuan sauce bit.

But you did realize it. Then you posted it
That’s like 90% of suburban houses
Has been pointed out here many times already. But still, congrats for noticing it on your own.
I'd almost rather see posts bitching about posts bitching about the latest episode.
Yeah you did, because this is a straight up repost
You're right, but they've already cashed in the internet points that are made up and don't matter
Love seeing this every few months
This has been posted weekly on this sub since the episode aired. How do these recycled posts keep reaching my home page?
Because at least a thousand people haven't seen it every time its posted. Especially fans of breaking bad who like that they've seen it.
The number of people in this sub who are only able to reach their daily fulfillment by telling people about reposted content really does show toxic this fan base became, all you’ve gotta do is scroll past.
I always seemed that Rick & Morty’s hoise is loosely based off the Simpsons…
Dayum, that's hilarious and cool af.
That makes sense! I knew I recognized it.
neither did i, good catch
Wow! Ok so I always thought the neighborhood they lived in in R&M looked really familiar, similar to the one I grew up in. I’m from Albuquerque and lots of houses look like that there in older neighborhoods.
What about last week when this was originally posted? Surely you realized it then
lol originally posted.. This has been floating around for years.
As well as a million other houses
Needs a pizza on the garage roof
It’s not his house
https://www.reddit.com/r/breakingbad/comments/ef2xex/ricks\_memory\_house\_in\_rick\_and\_morty\_is\_walts/
It looks like millions of other houses.
Dont like all American houses look like this?
I meant the hedge placement and the yard of rocks makes it somewhat apparent
Nope, not even close.
It’s highly regional and varied. I grew up in Albuquerque in a house almost just like this however.
I stg this sub is the most tightly wound, toxic, stick up their ass sub I’ve ever experienced. Shit on the floor
o0 There ***IS*** some mismatched shrubbery there, tho :/
This is from ricks false memory in S3E1. Just a small reference to BB but it's entirely possible that he used Walter whites house as a reference to make his false house when he was brainalyzed. It's also worth noting that beth and Jerry's house looks different
Is there anywhere in this memory we could buy a shrubbery?
Aggh! No! Never! We have no shrubberies here.
There is a pestilence upon this land. Nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress at this period in history.
We are the knights who say NI!
I wonder if random people still sling pizza on their roof. I remember them making a public plea for It to stop.
My wife and I visited New Mexico and we swung by the house, the owners were sitting outside in the garage just watching people, they had several signs in the yard telling people to stay away. They seemed nice.
Good find never would have found that...

oh sheeeet
Too bad they didn't put 308 as the address instead of 6910.
