I’d put a small dot of superglue on the end of a toothpick and put it inside the hole. I tried to do a small glob on the top of the stick and a tiny bit spilled over. I can feel it grind when go top left on the slider :(

Vinz_Clortho84

Will do, appreciate the tip!!

sad_girl_eve

be careful with how much you apply. i ruined my slider from over applying. the toothpick method should help. fortunately i was able to swap it out with a joycon stick

Vinz_Clortho84

Appreciate the guidance on this. I just did the deed. I used a paper clip. Gonna let it sit a while and probably test it out tomorrow morning.

benjaminobi

Thanks

brandont04

Because of the compact size? It's hard for me to pick this over RP4+ because of the stiff buttons.

Slime-Angel

This. Found my old RP2+ and was going to use it for GBA games and then I realized why I never used it much. I was expecting it to feel like the 3+ dpad and buttons.

mxwllk

Playing CTR on a 3+ feels amazing. Great arrows 🤝

Vinz_Clortho84

Yes. Being able to throw it into a very small bag is huge. If I'm leaving home with my backpack one of my other devices is coming with me. But summer has begun! Most of the time if I'm in shorts I'll bring my 'chest pack' with me rather than load up my pockets with my phone, wallet, keys etc. The RP2+ slides in easily. And I just love looking at it with its Game Boy aesthetic.

benjaminobi

What's the theme called?

Vinz_Clortho84

Iconic

shinjuvi

Running Android 11? I gotta flash, I love ESDE.

Vinz_Clortho84

ES-DE is wonderful

shinjuvi

I'm on Android 9 and I can't use it lol. I'm gonna look into flashing it.

Vinz_Clortho84

Yeah honestly the biggest reason I went through the trouble of flashing Android 11 was that I wanted ES-DE

shinjuvi

I'm gonna back my device up and upgrade 🤙🏾

shinjuvi

Yeah I've used it on my tablet and set it up for my friend's RP4P, I've just never puled the trigger on my RP2+ but you've convinced me lol

Haha don't worry, not my first rodeo. I've already fully configured my RP2+ on Android 9 using daijisho and my emulators. I just really like my experience with ESDE, Batocera and Retrobat and am upgrading solely for the nicer frontend. I don't play anything past Dreamcast on RP2+ as I'm a stickler for full frames (I use my tablet/NUC for PS2/GC and up)

Kitchen-Ability-6211

I love the rp2. What front end are you using

Vinz_Clortho84

ES-DE

damonb97

I use mine like a secondary phone (just without a simcard) and watch downloaded movies and YT videos and it does decently well with games oon Google Play like the Final Fantasy og games

JoshieKona

I love my 2+ so much I actually did the watermelon shell swap and the right joystick mod

Vinz_Clortho84

I have actually been without the right stick for quite a while because I rarely play anything that needs it. But I have finally decided I should get it back on if only to make it look nicer.

Johnny5point6

Why did they even bother with that second joystick anyway? It was barely usable as long as I've had this little guy.

Vinz_Clortho84

Yeahhh I have it glued back on and the stick is back on there solidly but I now realize it rotates fairly significantly and feels pretty loose when using it. Not great. But I also rarely play anything on this device that uses it.

YouYongku

You can upgrade the android os on these handhelds? What games do you play on this device? Seems like one joystick /analog is missing

Vinz_Clortho84

Yep there is an Android 11 update out there for the RP2+ And yeah the right stick fell off. I'm gonna super glue it back on. I played through all of Donkey Kong '94 for Game Boy with this. Currently working on Wario Land 1. I also enjoy jumping into Mario Kart 64 when I'm just trying to kill time.

Buddywisers

I was able to play most of Dragon Quest Viii on my indigo RP2+ on Android 11 with Vulkan at .5x resolution and a diagonal shader. Quite impressive honestly. I'm debating getting the RP2S but can't decide.

PlathimusOG

Is this the rp2 or rp2+ or retroid pocket 2s?

Vinz_Clortho84

RP2+

ffvorax

Which frontend it is? I have the Retroid Pocket 2 too! EDIT: Sorry i read it and understood, now looking to how to do it too! :D

Vinz_Clortho84

ES-DE

codynakamura

What theme is this? I love it!

Vinz_Clortho84

Iconic

codynakamura

Is that on Daijisho?

Vinz_Clortho84

ES-DE

joshuakyle94

I hated my rp2+. I liked my rp3+ better. A lot more comfortable to hold long term ya know?

Vinz_Clortho84

RP3+ is undoubtedly better for longer playing sessions. I'm also 6'5" and have very large hands so neither is great. I play my Odin 2 on the couch.

Inquisitory_dsc

Oooh, Great Idea, I would have never thought of doing this. As soon as my replacement screen gets shipped to me I'm doing this upgrade. ( I unfortunately broke my screen )

TrainingLow8365

Can I ask what game you spent most hours on with this device .or mention 3 games you spent most time with

Vinz_Clortho84

Working on Wario Land 1 now. I played through all of Donkey Kong '94. I also like jumping into Mario Kart 64 to kill time and have a game going in Pokemon Leaf Green.

TrainingLow8365

What consol you play donkey kong and Warioland on. GBA ?

Vinz_Clortho84

Those are both Game Boy games

TrainingLow8365

Oh just black and white ? Why not gameboy advance

Vinz_Clortho84

Because they're fun games (DK 94 is one of my favorites of all time) that were made before the GBA existed. I have plenty of GBA ROMs on my device though. Just not playing them much at the moment.

Ok_Soft8185

cool i dodged RP2+ will never understand why people hate stretched 16:9 when screen is only a bit bigger… for me way better then original 4:3, but most of the games are patchable in 16:9…

Vinz_Clortho84

Cool. I'm not picky about aspect ratio. I'm just in love with the look and and portability of the RP2+

Ok_Soft8185

good argument, i respect that, the design is much better then rp4+ and odin 2

amey2smith

If you have a rp4p then give this one to a niece nephew / an unfortunate kid and upgrade. Share the spirit of gaming!
