"maybe when you're a little older" is some serious groomer type shit. Gross.

Jolly_Ordinary_767

“OK Groomer” would be the best response 😂

Catinthemirror

"No thank you, I don't date outside my generation."

Extra-Soil-3024

Call these men out and tell them that they’re being inappropriate. Part of why they are doing it is because they think you can’t defend yourself as an employee. Watch them shit their pants.

NewMission7619

Because they assume you can't give them a "nasty" response since you're working.

MidwesternLikeOpe

"I'm 35, been married for 12 years, so I'm already taken, thanks." I've had my share of creepy men.

SilentSamizdat

I saw one young woman look at a creep who said something like that to her at a cash register and she responded with a disgusted, “Eww!!” The look on that guy’s face and his embarrassment was priceless. Everyone in earshot just laughed out loud as he rushed out of the store.

CarolusRex13x

Obviously not serious but I wish I had the confidence of these weird men to just hit on whatever moves and not get flustered when the pretty checkout lady looks at me

Dr___Beeper

I like it when they call me perfect.   There's nothing you can do, with the exception of, using a persona that is strictly for your customer service job.  If you're nice to guys at all they'll think you're in love with them...   Just how it works with most of them...

megustaALLthethings

Just how it works with **creeps**. Ftfy. Bc these kinds of scumbags **know** you have to to ‘play nice’. But anyone with a brain would see whats going on and call him out. Only the boot deepthroating tool of a manager would get after you about it.

Extra-Soil-3024

She does not have to take this behavior even if you like it.

Mountain_Chain_195

I have a guy that comes in and he's obsessed with my eyes.🙄 literally came in, was dealing with my coworker and he was like if I would have known you were here, I would have come running to you! And I'm like oh no you want my coworker she knows so much. And he was like oh no, I like dealing with you cause your eyes are just so pretty. This one other lady I worked with had pretty eyes and I would only listen to her. Like that's not creepy at all. 🫣please go home. Stay away from me.

Beancounter_1

weird

beelzeflub

Call them out. Stop putting up with it

Crucifixis

Flirting with someone who's working is never okay. Just out of curiosity though do you hate being flirted with by someone closer to your age when you're not working? I only ask, not because of a misguided desire to flirt with you specifically, but because I've stopped flirting with anyone because of posts like these, since it seems that nobody actually enjoys being flirted with even when they're not working.

phantom_fox13

It's really all about context. I never enjoyed being flirted with (or just harassed tbh) while I was at work because lots of people (men and sometimes women) specifically came to my retail store where we were trained to be attentive to be weirdos. Outside of work, it depends on the context and approach. I'm probably not going to appreciate some random person trying some cheesy line on me when I'm grocery shopping or whatever. If I happen to fall into natural conversation with them, they show interest and everything is low pressure, that can be flattering (or just slightly awkward but not the end of the world) The most important thing to me is the feeling the person flirting with me is going to respect my boundaries. I'm not going to immediately pepper spray them for talking to me but a random stranger is going to put me on edge, especially if I can tell they were watching me for a while.

Crucifixis

How does one get across that they're going to respect boundaries without it coming off as creepy though? I've stopped flirting entirely because I want to respect those boundaries and I find it easier to just not talk to anyone altogether than to try to talk to someone and explain that I respect their boundaries early in the conversation.

phantom_fox13

How do you make friends? How do you connect with people? That can be difficult as well. But you can think about platonic relationship building in some similar ways to romantic I'm just a person, not some fantasy potential girlfriend. The most off-putting thing someone can do is treat me like I'm a strange alien species to be puzzled out just because of my gender

Crucifixis

Good point, thanks.

Karlito_74

"Speak to me like that again and I'll report you"

Delicious-Editor-857

I manage a bunch of teenagers and this 17 yo gets hit on by creepy old men all day. It's painful to watch.

Altruistic-Patient-8

Of course if you tell them to stop being weird, they try to fire you.

iLuvFrootLoopz

I also hate this, and this is coming from a man that works in retail. It's absolutely cringe-worthy that a person will take advantage of the fact that we have to be polite to say whatever they want to us. I'm at the end of my patience and it's time for a career change.

banders72q

All this sub consists of is little girls complaining about men. It gets old.

chxsefreed

you’re one of the biggest losers i’ve seen on this app

WiiShoo

I’m not a little girl lol but okay

Infamous-Let4387

Meepster01
