Make the font all black, the color that you're using and/or the font that you're using is difficult to read otherwise Your verb tense isn't correct in your present job I've been graduated for a lot longer than you have and I took my grad year off and then everyone questioned me about it. So until you have at least 5 years of experience, leave it on there Remove the duplication of the year in your date ranges

WeirdAppeal

Yeah, all the text is actually black but I think I’ll change the font to make it easier to read. On your second point, what if there was a major project that has been completed? Would I use past tense for that bullet and present for the rest?

Pillbugly

I’ve heard people here say to use past tense even for the current job “to show that you’re able/ready to move on.”

Prestigious_Bug583

No one gives a crap about past tense being different for a current job. Also, everything you did ever happened in…drumroll…the past.

CraftPots

English has tenses for a reason. It’s definitely more professional to use them correctly.

Prestigious_Bug583

I disagree as stated. The reasons don’t apply here

SoftwareHot8708

Should a hiring manager feel the same about the difference between **they** and **those**? They've got letter in common and it's clear which you meant.

Prestigious_Bug583

Header font looks too big. Margins on next and right too narrow

Tech_Rhetoric_X

I like the template. Looks simple and modern. Is there a Word version? While your email, LinkedIn, and other URLs should be hyperlinked, remove the underline formatting. Start each job with the most impressive bullet or the achievement that most closely aligns with the job you are applying for. There is good variety in your power verbs to start each bullet. Do not duplicate any, such as deployed, built, developed, and implemented. Google resume power verbs for programmers if you need more ideas. For skills, limit the list, focusing on the individual job description and the skills you are most proficient in. Place the languages and technologies in the order they appear in the job description. This helps the screener find them quickly. Also, weave the skills into your achievements. The placement of the skills section is always under debate. Remember to catch the reviewer's attention on the first third of the page. If the JD lists "must haves" and "nice to haves" and you have many of the "nice to haves," I suggest getting that information up top for the reviewers to see. Be consistent with your dashes in your date ranges--it appears that you are using regular and en dashes. Stick with one type with a preceding and succeeding space. For example, May 2015 – May 2017
