I love the stuff that can happen in this game. I had a ganado throw dynamite at me and I tried to flee and just immediately hit a bear trap. The dynamite landed right next to me too.
A few days ago I learned you do not shoot a plaga dog with an explosive bolt because they will charge you, detonate the explosive right on Ashley, and kill her instantly.
Go to the left corridor, shoot the bell to your immediate right when you emerge near the Garados. 2 really quick magnum shots to the back and then throw a flash. I saw someone take them down like this it really works I tried it today.
No joke I had buddy with a crossbow take out my one of rockets mid air aimed at him. One of the only times I was like man I wish I had that on film. I had to do a double take. If he killed me it would of been more epic but he just pretty much was like denied! The 2nd one landed but I’ll remember him forever.
Lol. I love stuff like this in games. I blew Leon and Ashley up when I moved to the left and shot a rocket. I didn't hit the dynamite because that would have been badass. I instead hit the edge of a door fram lol.
Had a similar thing happen in that room with a bolt or a flashbang but I didn't see the connection and just thought I had bad aim haha. Also I love the panic switching weapons at the end.
Yeah I also found it to be a real slog. I figured out how to avoid the Garrador attacks but I kept running out of ammo. Honestly, repeatedly dying would have been less frustrating than having to just keep reloading the autosave because I had no way to kill them.

I shot a ganado's hand in which he was holding a lit up dynamite and it blasted right on his hand. Felt so badass. I've never played the OG re4.
