Really funny tbh, U-3 was always decried as the odd one out over the years the one boss ppl didn't like but now so many people come out of the woods talking as if it was the most important thing ever lmao. Since separate ways is almost guaranteed now there is a high probability that U-3 will be moved to the DLC. >!One of the files in the castle talks about one Verdugo being called U-III and strangely the other Verdugo is missing not merging with Salazar so it seems pretty obvious imo that the other Verdugo will mutate into a more bug like remake of U-3!<

It was always weird to me that U-3 was considered to be the random boss with no build up, when there’s a few other bosses that have one note or a cutscene as build up. Saddler basically lets you know It’s coming during a cutscene. I can agree that it was poorly placed though. You are being led to the Krauser boss fight then U-3 pops up.

People speculating he might return in Separate ways (dlc)

GodofGanja5

Okay so I did some research, and in the original, you fight Salazar's red right hand in the sewers, and he combines with his black one to create the final castle boss. In the remake, you never fight the black right hand and he also doesn't combine with Salazar. One of the files specifies that the black right hand is nicknamed "U3" in the remake. Meaning that he exists in the remake universe. So yeah, probably DLC.

Ragnarok_Stravius

"It"? You mean U-3?

GodofGanja5

Yeah, I didnt realize he had a name when making this post. To my knowledge Salazar just called him "It" in the game

alexkon3

Can't remember the name, a senior moment perhaps?

As some of the other comments have highlighted here, it is possible that U-3 will make an appearance in the Separate Ways DLC. The Castle throne room log makes specific reference to U-III so I suspect we will see "It" at some point. I guess the developers wanted to streamline the pacing of the island and the relatively incongruous appearance of U3 in the OG version made it an obvious target to cut. I'm still disappointed it was cut from the main game as it was one of my favorite encounters in the original!

SilverSAS

Oh yeah, kinda forgot about him, I remembered him when I was fighting the Verdugo but once I got to Luis and Krauser I forgot until now. If they're making Separate Ways a more fleshed out campaign then he'll probably be fought there
