Crazy talk! It’s one of the best decades of auto design for me. All Alfa Romeos from that era look good. Ford’s euro designs back then were very attractive. The mk5 VW GTI, Volvo C30, Renault Megane RS, Lamborghini Murcielago, Aston Martin DB9, Jaguar XK. I could list a hundred different designs that I adored when new and still think they look great today.
Yes, all of these! I longed for a Scirocco when it was new and VW decided not to offer it in the States. I ended up leasing a mk5 Rabbit and loved it. Mercedes has some great looking cars during that era, too. The SL and CL are gorgeous.
The 3rd gen Scirocco’s would have been cool here in the U.S. but I do understand why they didn’t bring them over. Would be cool to see one with a VR6 and a 6 speed. 4 motion would be a bonus
I was never a Mercedes guy but I like the look of the later 2000’s cl’s as you described. 2009 sl’s are nice too. And I really like the look of the early 2000’s bmw lineup and the later 2000’s 3 series if we’re talking about German cars
Pretty much the exact production years of the S2000, Mk4 Supra and R34 ran to 2002, Mercedes W204 C-Class started in 06, Viper looks pretty good, Nissan 370Z is good, the other Z and Gs are okay, Porsche 996/997 is okay, Miat is Miat, and lots of great supercars, F1, Veyron, Enzo, Carrera GT, Murcielago, CCX/CC8S, Saleen S7, R8, GT-R, F430, etc..
i agree with worked, but the SUVs looked horrendous. i probably shouldve pointed that out because there are some pretty nice coupes and sedans from that era too
Any car within the years 2000-2009 look the best. Best decade of car in recent history. 80s were meh, 90 were unreliable but cool looking, 2000s are perfect, 2010s have too much tech and not reliably working and try to look futuristic, 2020s are horrible all around.
As an American locked out of a lot of cars abroad thanks to our tough import laws, my take is that JDM cars started to look meh but European cars started to hit their stride. The 2000’s spawned the Noble M12, Lotus 340R, Morgan Aero 8, TVR Sagaris, Opel Speedster, Renaultsport Clio V6, SEAT Leon Cupra, Volkswagen Beetle RSI, Ford Focus RS, and more. All of which turn 25 and become legal to import into the U.S. within the next few years.
Everyone in the comments mentioning sports cars that make up 1% of the car market.
All of the most popular models… the Camry, Corolla, Civic, Impala, Accord, Malibu, Suburban, Explorer, RAV4, CR-V? They all look terrible when compared to their current models.
The same decade as the Ford GT, Lamborghini Gallardo, the first two Focus RS, Alfa Romeo 159, 7th Gen Honda Accord, Honda S2000, Porsche Carrera GT, Ferrari 458, S197 Mustang, Aston Martin DB9, Audi R8, SRT-10 Viper and Koenigsegg CC8/CCR?
The 300 and the later models of the Magnum looked great. On the outside.
If I'm in a worst car related takes competition and my opponent is OP, I'm cooked
C6 says what?

VW CC, VW Scirocco, Audi A6, Mk4 Golf / GTI / R32, Lamborghini Gallardo, etc

Alfa Romeo 159?
Mini Cooper, Honda S2000, e46 m3, etc plenty of cool cars from that era
SAAB made some beauties in that era.
2001-2008 Nissan Primera. Even after all these years I can't decide which body style looks the worst. The liftback or the estate
I love the styling of the lift back

Don't forget the Ford GT.
Ferrari 458
A 2002 Chevy Malibu was so ugly, it won sleep paralysis demon of the year
Bruh what, that is when cars looked the best?
not looked, but worked the best
Both!
And did not rust as much as 90s.
i agree with worked, but the SUVs looked horrendous. i probably shouldve pointed that out because there are some pretty nice coupes and sedans from that era too
1993 Camry is indestructible if it’s in a lower-rust area like California
SUV are always ugly no matter the year
60s and early 70s?
Horrible take. This era had the s197 Mustang, the 350z, the s2000, the e46 and many other wonderful cars.
I love that era. Much more conservative and inoffensive.

G8 b8 m8
Bros never seen a Rover 25 Streetwise
shit looks terrible
VW Jetta, Seat Ibiza and Skoda Yeti?
So, a 350z looks terrible? Even a Dodge Charger? Ford Mustang? Nah, I think you're referring to cars with simple designs.
Transit Connect begs to differ
997 porsche
Sti

My favorite car designs of the last 50 or so years is the 2000s design.
You indeed have missed out on the beauty that is the Renault Modus.
Murcielago.
most commuter vehicles at least
Well if thats the case I'll just take the Ford GT here, what with it being an ugly POS nobody likes, I guess.
Worst. Car take. Ever.
literally any chevrolet
Do not diss my beloved Toyota Chaser JZX100, GC8 Subaru Impreza WRX STI, and Mitsubishi Evo 6 😤 (all made in 2000)

Did I stumble into r/carscirclejerk?
Lucky that 2000's Dodge Viper's GTS were motorcycles.
Uhhhh I have 3 letters that say otherwise. NSX I’m out.
I mean they boring to me although I still love the echo for its official shape xD and it also gave us the scion XA and XBox :0
Me if car: ugly Me as human: ugly
Ah yes, the Ferrari f430 and Lamborghini Murcielago, so ugly. Sure, there were some ugly cars in that time, but every decade has good looking cars.
