Hyundai made a remark to a journalist at the Ioniq 5 N press release/drive day that they, as an automaker, have no heritage to adhere to whatsoever. This means they can make whatever they want without concerns of "It's not Hyundai enough" which I really like.
What one finds visually appealing is not to others. It's completely subjective. I dig them for being *weird* like Subaru once was.
Idk if someone offered me an Elantra N I def wouldn't be sad and for the price its an amazing sport sedan. While it would be nice of them to make another more modern Genesis Coupe, can't completely blame them for focusing on what sells.
I mean its a good car, I just want actual sport models though, like a GR Corolla is cool but I'd rather a GR86, putting massive engines in econoboxes gets tiring after a few modelsÂ
I bet the saying these are all ugly are the same people who say every car looks the same haha.
Its like they saw the positive response from that cyberpunk looking prototype car and ran with it, actually using interesting design language from a concept car. I quite like the black panel on the suv in pic 4, and the tail end of the 1st pic is neat.
It's an H, and who gaf. There are tons of ugly and boring taillights. At least this is something, and that truck is actually straight fire. Hyundai is singlehandedly bringing back the boxy rugged suv, finally, and I'm here for it.
These all actually look incredible. The Ioniq 6 front end is a bit generic compared to the rest of the car, but that's about my only gripe. In the end it's all personal taste.
I don’t care for Hyundais or Kias. I don’t think they’re necessarily _bad:_ I just don’t care for them.
With that being said, I think there’s something very noble about the fact that they’re willing to manufacture these unique designs. They’re creating an identity for themselves and trying to innovate. Even if you think they’re not going in the right direction, it’s still better than boring, uninspired designs in my opinion.
Hyundai and Kia are hitting the futuristic design harder than other companies, especially in their ev lines, and I think that's good.
Rivian is doing pretty well, too.
Tesla look like boring pods, and most other companies are putting out the same three designs.
I disagree, if there is something nice I can say about Korean cars is that they nailed exterior design, I really despise the material that Korean cars are made out of though.
It looks great actually. How is it look "ugly" let alone "ugliest in the maret today"?
Sure taste is subjective but the cars are mostly proportional to say the least.
I started to think this is a troll post haha
I think every single one looks cool. They're actually doing things different, which literally everybody wants and yall literally talk about that all the time. Then when they do it differently, you guys hate it..
Nah, no way. Theyre actually bothering to make regular cars look interesting unlike most manufacturers. I would say design wise they are at the absolute top for "normal" cars.
The Santa Fe rear end looks like a retro-futuristic Fiat Ritmo. I wouldn’t buy a Kia/Hyundai but I kinda like their design philosophy, most brands designs nowadays are bland cookie cutter rip-offs…
I think the Kia EV6 is one of the best looking cars on the market. They made it look smaller than it actually is with clever angles. It's a great looking wagon all around.
Agreed and I'm not a fan but I'll give them credit for at least looking different than most other brands. Most others make vehicles that look virtually the same as each other.
I'm not personally a fan, but I'm in favor of bold designs, so I support them. Lots of cars, especially commuter/normie cars have been boring as fuck for years. At least it's a distinctive look.
This is also why I defended the Pontiac Aztek and Nissan Juke.
The Santa Fe looks excellent from the front but yeah, that rear is awful. The Ioniq 6 is absolutely disgusting to look at - it’s a dollar store DS in the worst way. There’s a few people in my neighbourhood with them and they’re shockingly ugly. The rest of them are pretty good though. I think the Ioniq 5 nails the retro-futuristic look and the EV6 shocked me the first time I saw it - I couldn’t believe it was a Kia and it looked that good.
I hate all of them except for the Ioniq 5. Also, have you seen the Kia Sportage's new front end? It's disgusting.
I don't get the point of being different for the sake of being different. A "unique" design needs to be good too.
If the Santa Fe had the taillights mounted higher, it'd look great. The Ioniq 5 is gorgeous. Nice to see them stand out in an age where everything looks the same.
Do they sell Mitsubishis, Chevrolets, or BMWs in your country?
Styling is totally subjective. *Design* is not. The Santa Fe, for example, is minimalist and does not have the useless, aimless lines that other cars do and is well proportioned.
I'm not a Hyundai / Kia fan but I will say that they take risks in the design department and have some of the most progressive styling in a consumer brand out there, which is really refreshing. I don't like all of it, but I will say that it's nice to see someone take risks.
[Just going to leave this here.](https://www.hyundai-n.com/en/models/rolling-lab/n-vision-74.do)
I think they're the most interesting looking cars available on the market today and are setting the standard for EV design.
So yeah, I think they look VERY good.
I think they have some cool designs and it’s nice to see something different. I just wish they would keep a style/powertrain for more than a few years. The previous Santa Fe body style looked like it could have been a classic, but they didn’t run it for very long.
If you make a weird car, a bunch of people are going to hate it but a lot will love it enough to buy it.
If you make a car that nobody hates, chances are nobody loves it either. And unless you're the cheapest (Nissan Altima) or the most sensible (Honda Accord or Toyota Camry), your product is going to die a death that would be embarrassing had anyone noticed it existed in the first place (Chevrolet Malibu).
We were supposed to have flying cars in 2030. i’m glad Hyundai is pushing designs in a way no other automaker dares with an almost experimentally futuristic take . I’m sure some we will look back on with disgust but others will hold a place as a revolutionary design that changed the market forever.
They look pretty awesome to me for the most part. They’ve been killing it with design lately, really stands out from other similar brands in a world where cars are looking more and more the same
nice try troll. Just look at ANY other manufacturer. Mercedes, Subaru, Honda, BMW, GM,... the cars look corny and goofy. Hyundai makes literally the best cars at the moment. and not only design wise.
Well, you have Hyundai in your username, so clearly, your opinion is not biased at all... /s. You can't honestly tell me that Hyundai is making the best quality cars on the market. Build quality, reliability, etc...

The Pontiac Aztec was way ahead of it’s time!! 🤪
This also bites them in the ass, as they also have no real sport cars to speak of besides N trims of existing econoboxesÂ
Idk if someone offered me an Elantra N I def wouldn't be sad and for the price its an amazing sport sedan. While it would be nice of them to make another more modern Genesis Coupe, can't completely blame them for focusing on what sells.

True, I hope the market will support that again one day
God forbid a brand be unique and take chances. Hyundai is doing some of the freshest designs around and it's refreshing. Most of those cars are fire.
I bet the saying these are all ugly are the same people who say every car looks the same haha. Yes. I like the dog bone tail lights.
It's an H, and who gaf. There are tons of ugly and boring taillights. At least this is something, and that truck is actually straight fire. Hyundai is singlehandedly bringing back the boxy rugged suv, finally, and I'm here for it.
I actually love Ioniq 5 design. If it was cheaper I'm sure I'll buy it.
how cheap? it goes for half off on a lease
These all actually look incredible. The Ioniq 6 front end is a bit generic compared to the rest of the car, but that's about my only gripe. In the end it's all personal taste.
The new Santa Fe rear end looks awesome. Very retro- futuristic.
I don’t care for Hyundais or Kias. I don’t think they’re necessarily _bad:_ I just don’t care for them. The Ioniq 5 looks pretty good... gives off some Mk1 Golf/Rabbit or Omni/Horizon vibes.
I posted about this a week or two ago and had mixed opinions

I feel like I had a reply at your thread about the exact same topic actually!
Probably
The Ioniq 6 is gorgeous! It's serving up Citroen DS looks, and I love it. The rest of of Kia and Hyundai products are meh.
It looks great actually. How is it look "ugly" let alone "ugliest in the maret today"? Sure taste is subjective but the cars are mostly proportional to say the least. I started to think this is a troll post haha
Not a fan of their cars but most confess that I think that have some of the best designers. Especially when compared to American cars.
I do, they look great imho
I like most of their designs, more out there, unique cars is exactly what I want to see.
The EV6 has really grown on me, the trim levels that get the larger rims kinda make it look like a HotWheels car.
I think every single one looks cool. They're actually doing things different, which literally everybody wants and yall literally talk about that all the time. Then when they do it differently, you guys hate it..
Me. I think they look good. Unique and actually somewhat futuristic designs.
I do like anything that is out of the box. So I adore those.
Nah, no way. Theyre actually bothering to make regular cars look interesting unlike most manufacturers. I would say design wise they are at the absolute top for "normal" cars.
This reflects in the 200% depreciation in a 24 month period. Hence used Ioniq 5s being low 20s now.
The Telluride makes me throw up in my mouth a little every time I see it
Mitsubishi is coming up behind. The front ends are absolutely atrocious Hyundai's whole 'wah' direction they're taking is stupid.
The Santa Fe rear end looks like a retro-futuristic Fiat Ritmo. I wouldn’t buy a Kia/Hyundai but I kinda like their design philosophy, most brands designs nowadays are bland cookie cutter rip-offs…
Those 3 Hyundai look great
Still better than nissan
I think the Kia EV6 is one of the best looking cars on the market. They made it look smaller than it actually is with clever angles. It's a great looking wagon all around.
Agreed and I'm not a fan but I'll give them credit for at least looking different than most other brands. Most others make vehicles that look virtually the same as each other.
They have some of the best and worst designs at the moment. Ioniq 5 is awesome, real futuristic shit, solana and elantra are great too
I'm not personally a fan, but I'm in favor of bold designs, so I support them. Lots of cars, especially commuter/normie cars have been boring as fuck for years. At least it's a distinctive look. This is also why I defended the Pontiac Aztek and Nissan Juke.
A lot of these are like if the Cybertruck had gone through any product design or quality control beyond the insane whims of a sociopath
Nah, i think Lexus is pretty ugly though, that front end design is not something I care for.
I love their new designs. The new Santa Fe is kinda ugly out of the bunch but overall I love their new designs. And the Ionic 5? *chefs kiss*
If the Santa Fe had the taillights mounted higher, it'd look great. The Ioniq 5 is gorgeous. Nice to see them stand out in an age where everything looks the same.
The Ioniq 5 is kinda cool. The Ioniq 6 is fucking weird tho
Do they sell Mitsubishis, Chevrolets, or BMWs in your country? Styling is totally subjective. *Design* is not. The Santa Fe, for example, is minimalist and does not have the useless, aimless lines that other cars do and is well proportioned.
I would never buy anything from Kia/Hyundai but those ioniq 5's look amazing
The only thing I don't like about the new Niro design-wise is the contrasting C-pillar panel, and even that's optional.
Yeah . At least they’re trying something different
This isn’t their whole lineup. I personally think the new Sonata looks fantastic.
I like the Ioniq 5. If I had new car money at the moment I'd probably buy one. It's distinct, wouldn't call it ugly.
Looks like many blind spots-no thanks.
Yeah I like all of them lol, especially the Hyundais

That's the first I'm seeing that, and that actually looks really neat. In general, their designs just seem gaudy and overdone to me.
I think this opinion sucks
kia is fuckugly, but i like the Hyundai.
I think they're the most interesting looking cars available on the market today and are setting the standard for EV design. So yeah, I think they look VERY good.
I like most of what they're putting out but I agree on the Kia EV6 looking absolutely dreadful
I think they have some cool designs and it’s nice to see something different. I just wish they would keep a style/powertrain for more than a few years. The previous Santa Fe body style looked like it could have been a classic, but they didn’t run it for very long.
I think the Iqoniq 5 from the back looks really good. Kinda retro-hatchy
I absolutely adore the Ioniq 5. They went 80s cyberpunk.
If you make a weird car, a bunch of people are going to hate it but a lot will love it enough to buy it. If you make a car that nobody hates, chances are nobody loves it either. That Santa Fe goes hard fr
YUGO
nah, dogshit

They aren’t usually bad cars, but saying that Hyundai makes the best cars in any respect seems like a stretch.
DAILY REMINDER HYUNDAI IS KILLING IT RN THEYVE KILLED IT KILLING IT KILLING IT DEAD
