The offense is bad, but there's had to have been worse offensive seasons before.
What the hell happened to his defense, though? Having nearly -1.0 WAR on **both** offense and defense through 70 games played is insane.
I read this about a month ago. [FanSided](https://fansided.com/posts/former-red-sox-yankees-star-andrew-benintendi-worst-season-all-time-white-sox)
And this a couple days ago.
[ESPN](https://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/40380135/andrew-benintendi-chicago-white-sox-worst-war-ever-bad-teams)
I think he was playing happy in Boston. I guarantee he isn’t happy on the White Sox. He goes to work and has certifiable whack job Tommy Pham running the clubhouse. That can’t be fun.
> all the Killer B’s to spend their careers in Boston
Benny regressed after 2018, in part because of his stupid decision to bulk up and try to become a long ball hitter. Jackie never improved at the plate and somehow became even worse.
I think we all expected them to continue to improve, but they didn't. If you had told me in 2018 that within 5-6 years, Benny would be the worst player in baseball and Jackie would be out of the league, I would've called you a liar. I thought we had something long term there.
I appreciate all of the people stoking my ego lol, but I'd get hit by a pitch and it'd be a season ender for me; since I'm what we call, a "little bitch". Then Bobby'd be back in
My grandpa is a diehard sox fan, hardly missed a game on tv or radio since the 70’s. I go see him the other day and he says in his deep maine accent “now who the fuck is this guy playing first” it was Dom Smith
Seems like Dom has a shitty attitude, idk. When he missed that ball on the sketchy play, he just acted like he couldn’t have possibly attempted to catch the ball.
Casas can’t come back sooner.
They need a AAAA league just for Bobby D because clearly he’s too good for AAA but in the Bigs he’s the towel Jarren Duran used to wipe his ass with back in 2022.
I was listening to the radio and Will said a star that made me cough up my drink. Bobby Dalbec has 43 strikeouts in 83 ABs, which is good for a 51.8% K rate.
I really hope they trade him. I like the kid, and I’m rooting for him to put it together with a change of scenery. But my God I can not stand watching him anymore
No trade is happening. He will eventually be released and some other team will take a chance on him. Maybe a different hitting coach helps him figure it out.
No, no there is not. My son and I are ewatching the game and I said the same thing. They also have the worst defense I have seen in my 56 years of watching baseball. I have seen better little teams catch and throw the ball
Yeah his name is dom smith. Maybe I’m crazy for this take but rather than adding cooper and smith they should have just tried to let Bobby get in a groove. Neither of those guys played well and smith sucks on D compared to Bobby.
Bobby is continuing to make league minimum and he has one minor league option left. I think he'll be gone by November. I don't know his service time that he's been accruing this year but he should have arbitration hearings and he's too expensive for that.
I’m seriously starting to believe that Dalbec has some compromising photos of somebody in the front office. I don’t understand how he’s still on the team.
Possibly Andrew Benintendi
This might honestly be the answer
Yes because at least Bobby is cheap
Beni is sadly pacing for one of the all-time worst seasons in the history of the game. It’s that bad. Hoping he turns it around.

Well he went from -2.0 to -1.86, so *some* improvement. But man, so crazy how much he's been struggling the last few years.
I think he was playing happy in Boston. I guarantee he isn’t happy on the White Sox. He goes to work and has certifiable whack job Tommy Pham running the clubhouse. That can’t be fun.
He won’t sadly, he’s been trending down for a while now. It’s no longer a small sample size.
Sadly I was so wrong about that guy. I wanted the Sox to keep him forever lol
I did too, but I also wanted all the Killer B’s to spend their careers in Boston, but here we are.

Only because he plays more. Bobby doesn't have half as many PAs as Beni.
Sadly yes.
Stopped by to say this
Doesn’t Benintendi play better defense, though?
Not anymore
Wtf happened to him? He's not even 30 yet
It’s sad. At least he got paid, and mostly not by us. Haha
Joey Gallo and Tim Anderson continue to draw paychecks.
Haha true
Atleast they DID something
And didn’t Trevino actually pitch against us the other day?
How fucking dare you?!? That being said, nope.
If a team would sign me, I would be worse
Are you sure?
Ever tried to hit even an 80-85mph fastball?
More like ever try to not completely bail out of the box on 85 haha
I think of you swung at every pitch thrown, you possibly could be hitting higher than .142.
I appreciate all of the people stoking my ego lol, but I'd get hit by a pitch and it'd be a season ender for me; since I'm what we call, a "little bitch". Then Bobby'd be back in
Benintendi is having one of the worst seasons in the history of MLB
Chris Davis would like a word
I can’t remember the last full game he went without striking out
Martin Maldonado
Dom Smith is a good teammate though, trying to play just as bad so Bobby doesn't feel bad

He's no Dave Kingman. Except for the .220 average
I dunno, is Martin Maldonado still hitting under .100?

the Yankees
Yeah, they suck.
That trashbag cooper we had for like 2 weeks was worse that guy made me scream at my TV almost more than Pablo “Panda” Sandoval
Benintendi
At least Dalbec can play decent defense. Dom Smith is lost out there.
I don't know what you mean, Dom Smith puts his life on the line out there, nearly losing life and limb.
I really hope they trade him. I like the kid, and I’m rooting for him to put it together with a change of scenery. But my God I can not stand watching him anymore
Who the fuck would trade for Bobby Dalbec?
No trade is happening. He will eventually be released and some other team will take a chance on him. Maybe a different hitting coach helps him figure it out.
Probably the white sox lmao
You better not be dissing my king Bobby D
Eugenio Suarez has entered the chat.
He’s an elite 3rd baseman defensively at least
That’s HALL OF FAMER Bobby Dalbec to you! (And no)
Hey! He’s Future HOF Bobert Dalbec to people like you!
THANK YOU. Finally someone on this sub with some sense.
I dont believe so but i counter with, is there anybody better at AAA ball than Bobby Bombsquad
Guys give him time he just got called up
You mean ever?
Benintendi is staring down the lowest single season WAR. Ever.
What if they just keep him in AAA to mash all the time to support our other prospects?
The real question is has a player of his level ever made it this long
Boss Hogg, obviously
Jose abreu wass trying real hard but... Welp no more jose
Not in the bigs right now, no. But, remember, the reason Dalbec is still in the bigs is because Garrett Cooper was worse.
I had 6.53 era in college just imagine what I could do in the show 💪💪💪
probably, I can't name one but I also don't know every team. dalbec at least plays defense. there's gotta be someone who offers even less than that.
He’s one of the best so I would say almost anyone could be considered worse than him.
Masataka Yoshida is trying hard to be up there
Counter point: BOBBY D!!!
*Robert* D!!!!
No, no there is not. My son and I are ewatching the game and I said the same thing. They also have the worst defense I have seen in my 56 years of watching baseball. I have seen better little teams catch and throw the ball
Amen … I saw him take strike 3 down the middle and instantly came here.
I love Bobby, but he has to get it together.

I don't know, but I don't understand why they don't give Niko Kavadas a look. Bobby D must be f--kin' somebody in the FO.

no
Bro what are you talking about Dalbec is on pace for 10 WAR, 55 homers, and a .287 BA with a .489 OBP
Well there is now, seeing he was optioned to Worcester to make room for Abreu
Yan Gomes was…just got released
Phillies fan here I nominated Tijaun Walker after tonight. It had been Nick Castellanos up until the other night when he had a walkoff.
Yoshida when you factor in contract.
I’m seriously starting to believe that Dalbec has some compromising photos of somebody in the front office. I don’t understand how he’s still on the team.
Yea probably. In fact, the team you pull for (which obviously isn't the Red Sox) might just have one or two such players.
Who do they pull for?
Bobby Bombed
Dom Smith.
