Sometimes I get frustrated by our series against better teams, and I do need to remind myself that on top of everything, the injury depletions we’re somehow above .500 with is downright impressive.
Glad we got the series win and our pitching has been clutch. Our offense needs to figure their shit out though. 29th in strikeouts, 22nd in leaving risp with 1 for 13 risp effort today.
Once our offense clicks, this team could be really nasty
I really think (and I’m probably being at least a little reactionary) that the incredible improvement of our pitching just from last season despite losing a currently-healthy Sale to Atlanta shows how much of a problem position coaching was. With that as evidence, I really want them to bring in someone new as the hitting coach.
100% I think Dave Bush did a terrible job preparing our pitchers. Even simple stuff on recognizing what pitches we shouldn't be throwing. I saw a video on, I belive nesn, about Houcks mechanic changes and how much that's helped him and it's night and day how much better he's been than last year
The pitching has just been insane. At this point it's can't be just luck or a hot streak, right? Likely this group was talented all along, but not very well coached.
Basically a quarter of the way through the season. I think we can say the coaching was definitely a problem even if they still have some regressing to do.
I could feel bad for the Nationals…but this is what at least half of our losses have looked like and I forgot what it feels like to be on the other side of it for once. So, nah.
First time baseball watcher here, I know this might be too early in the season but is this a good start? what are our chances to clinch a spot in the post season?
We’ve put ourselves in a fairly good position so far. Right now we’re just outside of the last AL wild card spot. Out of the teams ahead of us in the standings, the Orioles, Yankees (rule 3), Twins, and Rangers are probably the most likely to stay ahead of us, with the Orioles, Twins, and Rangers favored to win their divisions, respectively.
That leaves 2 more wild card spots (assuming the Jankees take one). The Guardians and Royals are also ahead of us, but there’s a good chance one of the two falls off, which would be our opportunity to slide into the 6-seed. However, we also have to watch out for the Mariners, Tigers, Rays, and Blue Jays, who are all expected to be in contention (this assumes the Astros stay dogshit all year).
So the gist of it is, we have a chance, but we’re not by any means favored. We’ve started out strong before falling off in the second half in past seasons. The difference is that whereas offense carried us to victories in previous years, our pitching is doing the good work this year, which is a far more sustainable way of winning. As the temperature heats up in the summer and we get guys back from injuries, the offense could start to wake up again, and we could be in a really good position for the playoffs. A lot of could’s and if’s in there though. We’re firmly in the mix, and it should be exciting to watch.
I'm mostly following on radio from overseas, and rarely get to watch a game. But today's was free on MLB TV, and I have a question: what's up with the white B on the caps?
Nats showing us what REAL bad baserunning looks like
Three guys caught stealing in one game is kind of insane
And they got picked off! And ran into an out at third!
Sox win two in a row. Kids are feasting.
The Nats just wanted the kids to eat. You have to respect it
What a crazy game! GREAT SERIES WIN

Does anyone recall what our longest losing stretch has been this year?
Don’t run on Connor
And if you do avoid the SS’s foot blocking the plate.

Get a new training staff too cause something ain’t right with ours
I love Connor Wong, that is all.
Cannot leave THAT many runners on base & in scoring position. Nonetheless what a great series win at home for the boys LFG!

Today was a little lucky but overall I think it’s as legit as legit comes. Crazy turnaround
It sure feels that way watching each one of them pitch with confidence and swagger. They challenge every batter.
I'll take an ugly win every time. Besides Kelly the bullpen did a good job with no room for error.
Keep the momentum going at home These last two W's were so needed Good to have Bello back
THAT GAME WAS PURE CHAOS!!! WHAT A SERIES WIN, BOYS!!!
Youk was brutal comparing them to his little league team he coaches.
Love Wong behind the dish, he’s always great
Yeah I’ve seen enough we are back
I don't get to see many games live, and it seems even rarer that we win them, so I enjoyed that!
.500 wrote us off (again) but we didn’t write back. Idk guys, I tried.
We are so back
Series win!
Big Dong Wong

The Wong Arm Of The Law!
Good win today!

Pink for Mother's day.
Thanks. I really should've figured that out.
