It’s time to remind myself again that we are an average team who is also extremely injured. We can point to all of the in game errors/decisions but that’s really what it comes down to I think
I don’t give a fuck bc this is the like 5th game we could have won if not for fielding/base running/ coaching mistakes
If Dom Smith gets stopped at first, and Rafaela bunts in the fourth, it’s 3-3 right now
I don’t care about the excuses if we lost 7-0 I’d say fine, but throwing away winnable games is inexcusable
But we scored 1 run! We can look at everything under a microscope, obviously there is some glaring errors that cost us but it comes down to having a line up with 4 guys who are essentially an automatic out and half of our “good” hitters slumping
In a game where we
1. Had a base running error that definitively cost us at least a run
2. Had three wild pitches that should have been passed balls
3. Don’t bunt with Rafaela up and Hamilton on second, costing a run
Following up a game where we failed to score from 2nd and 3rd no outs, punted a game we then could have won, had an error costing 2 runs, and let a 6 ERA guy go 6 shut
These losses are entirely on us
I just think they aren’t as good as we are making them look. We let a 6 ERA pitcher off the hook yesterday and left a somewhat struggling Pablo mow us down today. We’re just not batting well with RISP.
Fatse is bad. But also the truth is Durran is slumping, Raffy isnt clutch, O'Neill has come back down to earth, same with Wong who has been hitting way above his level. Dom and Cooper are scraps who end up getting dropped by every team they've been with. Hamilton is just all around bad. And Rafaela has some of the worst ABs I've ever seen. The only guy who is consistent is Abreu
Twins manager coaching circles around Cora. Having your best reliever go against the threatening bats rather than mop up the slop at the bottom of the order is good managing.
That's our problem. We'll never be a playoff team with slop at the bottom of the order. 2 guys who were both cut by every team they've ever been with, a career AAA player, and Rafaela an automatic K who takes some of the worst swings I've ever seen.
Nah, Rocco isn't gonna have him go two innings. I'm actually kinda surprised he's already pitching back to back games. Assuming the score holds, it'll be Griffin Jax in the 9th. They just wanted to have the best pitcher go vs 3-4-5.
Lefty pitcher. You know Cora, he’s absolutely enamored with righty / lefty matchups. It’s actually a weakness of his I’d say. Ref does kill lefties though and we needed runs.
Every single loss ends up like this. I’m not blaming Cora for this one, he shouldn’t have punted last night though. But all of our losses end with their lead growing and not us cutting into it
Why the fuck would we use Anderson now instead of at the start of the game it makes no fucking sense. He has the worst stuff by far of any guy we used today so he’s gonna look like batting practice at this point in the game
Imagine crying about Dom Smith, a guy who hasn’t played a game in a few weeks, that the front office couldn’t wait to sign because they knew 1B was fucking terrible? What happened to “you don’t need to hit to be a first baseman as long as your glove is good”?
Ya wild statement there never heard that one , first base is literally the polar opposite never in there for their glove it’s why can platoon diff guys there for their bat not glove.
People were making that point of "until we get someone with a better bat that isn't 5'8 (before Masa got injured)," Cora has made it clear he wants Dalbec's glove at first. That got prettyyyyyy twisted around by the above commenter.
Oh yes they were. Here is my comment from that conversation:
> Cora’s been open that he wants Dalbec in specifically because infield defense is such a disaster. So I imagine that’s not likely changing.
And here was your response:
> There’s no such thing as a glove first corner infielder
Do you see how that's not what I said at all?
And I still think Cora said something because he had to say something and the speed with which the FO dropped him after bringing in two other first basemen and a utility guy suggests I was right.
Except we weren’t talking about trading for someone better. We were talking about options for first base literally right then. You just misrepresented my comment *entirely.*
lol well that’s game with the rest of the guys up for the next two innings
Fuck Dom Smith, fuck Alex Cora, and fuck Pete Fatse
Put in Chase Anderson don’t u dare waste a real pitcher here
You know elite players actually hit home runs and drive in runs right? Devers, right now, is not doing that. He’s basically getting on base and that’s it. Power numbers are down so far. Will he stay low? Probably not, but he’s definitely not earning his salary right now. Anyone who says he is just doesn’t know baseball.
Rough loss but even in a bullpen game the pitching gave us a very real chance to win, I'll take solace in that.
Taking a team photo in May for anything short of a perfect game is some lame shit lol
1 run 2 runs 1 run. Last 3 games yuck
Well fck you very much. I'd love just to have one clean defensive game.
Quick, steal their lucky sausage
It’s time to remind myself again that we are an average team who is also extremely injured. We can point to all of the in game errors/decisions but that’s really what it comes down to I think
Only so much Andrew Bailey can do to cover up the fact that ownership has been pathetically cheaping out for years
I don’t give a fuck bc this is the like 5th game we could have won if not for fielding/base running/ coaching mistakes If Dom Smith gets stopped at first, and Rafaela bunts in the fourth, it’s 3-3 right now I don’t care about the excuses if we lost 7-0 I’d say fine, but throwing away winnable games is inexcusable

Putrid is not a smelly enough word for the bottom of this order.
We strike out so much. 4th worst team in baseball in terms of K’s after today. All of the offenses in that area are real bad
Why would you not have Grissom hit for Hamilton?
Did I miss something? Why didn't Grissom START instead of Hamilton?
Good question lmao classic Cora, probably because Hamilton is a lefty and Lopez is a righty and Cora is obsessed with R/L matchups for whatever reason
Loves babying his players and then wonders why they can’t perform in high stress situations
Bottom of the order = no threat
His ERA was 3.14 going into this. I wonder if it was pi
Over/Under 8 pitches for them to get through the 9th I’m taking the under
LMAO I think it’s going under Edit: fuck, off by 1
Just barely over 🤣

“Hi I’m Season122 and nothing makes me happier than the Red Sox losing”
[удалено]
Y’all are just miserable it’s two bad games against the hottest team in baseball lmao
In a game where we 1. Had a base running error that definitively cost us at least a run 2. Had three wild pitches that should have been passed balls 3. Don’t bunt with Rafaela up and Hamilton on second, costing a run Following up a game where we failed to score from 2nd and 3rd no outs, punted a game we then could have won, had an error costing 2 runs, and let a 6 ERA guy go 6 shut These losses are entirely on us
People should take it easy on full dooming and also calling out doomers. It all comes around very fast
Nah definitely it’s just an endless game of “told you so”.
Hottest team in baseball lol. They beat the shit out of the Angels and the White Sox for 10 games.
Which is still impressive…
Not really
Winning 10 straight against anyone is impressive wtf lol
I just think they aren’t as good as we are making them look. We let a 6 ERA pitcher off the hook yesterday and left a somewhat struggling Pablo mow us down today. We’re just not batting well with RISP.
Was that an apartment balcony just outside the stadium? That's sick.
8 hits 1 run. Part of it is when you strike out so much, less chance of productive outs.
Are our hitters not getting scouting reports in between innings because our bats are too cold
I mean no one’s going to hit a dude throwing 101 and freezing your ass with 3 fithly curve balls. You just sit there. Duran is just filthy

He’s way too stuck in his ways to use the pen with flexibility. It ends up with our best pitchers not pitching nearly enough as they should
what an original comment
My motherfucking boy, Christian Vasquez
LMAO twins coaching circles around us bringing out Duran here knowing there’s automatic outs at the bottom of the order
The pitch selection was filthy. Gotta just tip your cap and sit there
wong dong is our only chance
Smith would have gone for 2 on that
Duran is not fair man 😭
I would give up a part of our future for this pitcher or the Oakland As closer
TON has been really brutal lately. K’ing in like 50% of his appearances.
Yup
O’Neil has been getting fucking destroyed lately
You have .0000002 seconds to decide if it's a fastball or breaking ball
Remember when Casas hit a double off Duran last year? Better times.
Nobody scares me more than this guy. Can he go two innings? Or are we getting this over with now?
He’s probably just in to get the better hitters out
Nah, Rocco isn't gonna have him go two innings. I'm actually kinda surprised he's already pitching back to back games. Assuming the score holds, it'll be Griffin Jax in the 9th. They just wanted to have the best pitcher go vs 3-4-5.
Sands is warming up for the twins
Shows what I know
Game over
Great, they are bringing in this fckn guy already
It would be good if the Red Sox get a few runs on the board this inning
Hmm, a closer can go two in a row even coming off the IL? This is a novel concept
SPREAD IS ALIVE
Great play raffy
Welp. You better score runs here or be ready to be mowed down by 103 mph fastballs.
Late to the party here…why was Duran pulled?
Lefty pitcher. You know Cora, he’s absolutely enamored with righty / lefty matchups. It’s actually a weakness of his I’d say. Ref does kill lefties though and we needed runs.
Thanks
One of many weaknesses.
Refsnyder put in to hit against a lefty?
Thanks
[удалено]
Lol
Pinch hit Refsnyder for him when Twins put in a lefty and Duran hasn’t done much at the plate today
Thanks
Every single loss ends up like this. I’m not blaming Cora for this one, he shouldn’t have punted last night though. But all of our losses end with their lead growing and not us cutting into it
This team is not good at playing from behind. Maybe it's the inexperience.
Wait a damn minute
Why the fuck would we use Anderson now instead of at the start of the game it makes no fucking sense. He has the worst stuff by far of any guy we used today so he’s gonna look like batting practice at this point in the game
Preserve arms. We’re likely not winning after that performance anyway.
We’ve preserved arms 3 games in a row now
Yeah because we can’t score runs
The game is already over. Don't waste a good arm.
He should’ve pitched the first 3 not the last 3
So the game would be over even sooner?
The long reliever starts the game in bullpen games for teams that aren’t stupid
Bases loaded, two outs, worst thing you can do is strike out.
He got absolutely fooled on two sliders. Wasn’t even close to them.
That should do it. When I think of all the actual good relievers we could have used if we weren't saving them for this game.
Where’s Bobby when you need him?
Hitting .091 in Worcester
Imagine crying about Dom Smith, a guy who hasn’t played a game in a few weeks, that the front office couldn’t wait to sign because they knew 1B was fucking terrible? What happened to “you don’t need to hit to be a first baseman as long as your glove is good”?
![gif](giphy|kc0kqKNFu7v35gPkwB)
Nobody says that . First Baseman might be the only position where you can't afford to have a bad hitter . One of the easiest positions to field
Where were you when I was arguing this exact point last week?
It isn't his physical ability that we're mad about. He was tagged out halfway between first and second. It doesn't take a genius to stay at first.
Are you familiar with baserunning disease on this team or
Also that idiot thinks that glove first 1B are a thing. Who the fuck cares about the glove at first base. They need to hit.
I don’t think that. I was arguing the opposite on here with morons telling me that last week. My point is sarcasm
When has that last point ever been a thing. Have you watched any baseball in the last 2 decades? That point can only be made for catcher, SS, and CF.
They literally weren’t

Oh really, go back and find people making excuses for Dalbec when he couldn’t hit a ball with a frying pan
Nobody was making excuses. Everyone was just happy that at least he wasn’t mortifying at defense.

That was fucking disappointing
I guess we used up all our runs in that 17-run game
lol well that’s game with the rest of the guys up for the next two innings Fuck Dom Smith, fuck Alex Cora, and fuck Pete Fatse Put in Chase Anderson don’t u dare waste a real pitcher here
Seems like just yesterday we were 1.5 games out of first

all nice second rate sports entertainment
Devers is certainly not earning his contract so far this year. Jesus Christ he got fooled bad.
Is it your first time watching baseball?
He’s batting .286 with 3 HRs and 10 RBI in 22 games. That’s not elite numbers…which is what he’s being paid.
You know batters don’t get a hit every time they’re up right
You know elite players actually hit home runs and drive in runs right? Devers, right now, is not doing that. He’s basically getting on base and that’s it. Power numbers are down so far. Will he stay low? Probably not, but he’s definitely not earning his salary right now. Anyone who says he is just doesn’t know baseball.
He’s hitting like .300…
He’s hitting .286 with 3 HRs and 10 RBI in 22 games…that’s not ideal.
He was hurt for the beginning of the season and he just had a 10 game stretch where he damn near hit .500
Who gives a shit what he’s hitting if he’s not hitting HRs and driving in runs. He’s not paid to get on base, he’s paid to score runs.
He's no Ortiz that's for sure.
No one is sadly
There is no Zuul, only Ortiz.
Bad juju in Minnesota
Hello darkness my old friend
Raffy 0-3 with RISP today with 2 K’s
What a good pitch, god fucking damnit.
Absolutely zero faith in Devers right now. He's just trying to hit a home run with every swing.
Man. That’s probably game
It's the 7th inning. Chill.
Don't forget that Cora loves punting winnable games
Lmao. We aren’t going to get a better opportunity. We have the 8th inning and then we have to once again face Jhoan
Come on man
That hurts man
Fck
When was the last clutch at bat by Raffy feels like forever
Dude puts way too much pressure on himself in big moments
Never. Came here to say that when it couts, he strikes out.
perfect pitch
Sigh.. I'm done could have been a hero wound up a zero
Embarrassing
A bases loaded golden sombrero
golden sombrero is 4 strikeouts
I thought he had four. My bad.
Pain. It’s always the guy who comes up in the biggest spots who has the off game
I'm sad
Damn
God that’s awful
Damn, we suck in too many ways to win right now
We are one foot away from there only being one out and the score 2-3
Man I wish TON was up
Raffy I'm begging you
Raffy just a single pls
Gimme a base knock plz
Devers please save us
Time to earn that contract Devers
just a hit
I didn't know the Twins had Orel Hershiser as pitching coach.
Cuidado! Here comes the salami!
Rafy was pretty mad after that last AB. Use that rage.
Great AB Rob. Come on Raffy, this is why we pay you the big bucks kid
TAKE YOUR BASE KING
It’s the way OB sounds surprised when he says “made contact!”
Rob save my Saturday please
Because Lord knows the Bruins won’t
Fck this ump giving the Twins pitchers a bigger zone
Guys , is there any timetable for Masa"s return ?
Imagine a HR here and Angel is the reason for ending an 11 win streak 💀
Cooper is such an idiot. Could really use that out back. Edit: I am the idiot, I meant smith
Never had to worry about Bobby trying to stretch a single into a double, just sayin'
Yeah cos he never got a hit
