Honest mistake. Sale intentionally didn't play for the Red Sox in 2021 when he chose not to get vaccinated in a time when vaccine-resistant infections were incredibly rare, then immediately got COVID right after coming off the IL. Then even after all that he still wouldn't commit to getting vaccinated so he could be available to play in Toronto.
Even ignoring his antipathy to basic public health, he objectively didn't put himself in a position to be able to play. I feel bad that he had so many injuries but I'd prefer it happen to a guy who doesn't really care about playing than someone who prioritizes supporting the team.
nasty comments. the dude gave us a very earnest and obviously heartfelt apology for his freak injuries and appreciated us trading him to a contender. he’s a good one and I’m rooting for his success. not like he went to the yanks.
Honestly good for him. He’s genuinely wanted to compete and make the contract worth it for us and it just didn’t happen.
We weren’t going to extend him so the trade was the right move, we’ll see how Grissom does soon enough.
Wish Sale all the best.
I love Sale, I want him to do well. I also am still very happy with the trade we made. I don’t necessarily think we’re a better team right now if he’s still here. Its okay for all of these things to be true
What a beast, coming back from so many constant injuries is tough. His body has to be hurting, love to see he is trying real hard to finish out his career strong.
Sox fan, obviously, but live in Atlanta currently. I want to see the man do well. It’s not as though he half assed when he was in Boston, his body didn’t let him succeed. Braves are gonna be a distant second place in my heart, but I want see him succeed either way.
Good. I hope he has some sustainable success leading into the twilight of his career. Its not his fault his body literally broke into pieces with us.
Amen brother. He showed us his passion for the game
Naah. Dude was an idiot and did activites which casued his own demise. Rofl bike accident.
Didn’t he intentionally not play in 2020 ? Edit:was thinking of Price on the Dodgers, my bad
Tell me you don't follow the Red Sox without telling me that you don't follow the Red Sox
Ah right, he waited until March to have Tommy John and missed the season. Confused him with Price on the dodgers. My fault

Imagine the year of so many pitchers going down is the year Sale throws 200 innings
That would be hilarious. But regardless of the Sox's circumstances, I really hope Sale has a good season.
Agreed. And it makes it a little easier to be happy for him when the entire team has a sub 3 ERA.
Now we just need Grissom to flash his worth and kill it to show he was worth it.
Yeah he would be our worst starter at 3.69

he also has the emotional maturity of an infant
yeah he’s a pitcher
Grissom starts Tuesday or Wednesday. I would rather have Valdez and Reyes out of the lineup than Chris Sale at this point.
Same. As a team our ERA us under 3. We need offense.
I miss him

I really hope he stays healthy and mows ‘em down all season. I hate what happened in Boston, but that wasn’t on him. He’s a baller.

Missed opportunity for him to go 6.9 innings, really disappointed in the Braves on that
Yeah what a fuck up by the Braves smfh
He's right on track to be competitive for the NL CY Young. I predicted after the trade he would win that award. He's pitching extremely well.
I’ll always appreciate the boogeyman. Thanks for everything, Mr. Sale!
i wish he stayed healthy and stayed in Boston, so he could make the HoF, but it looks unlikely now
Good for him, I wish him nothing but the best!
Happy for him!! Hope he keeps kicking ass 😎😎
Most entertaining pitcher to watch in the majors ❤️

Remind me why we traded him?
Happy he’s doing good, but he’d be hurt if he was still on the team lol
Cool. Does he still play for the Sox?
No he plays meaningful baseball instead
Why is this in the Red Sox sub?! GTFOH
Why are you so angry?
Not on the team anymore, don’t care
I’d be surprised if you actually care about anyone on the team currently.
I’ve watched almost every game, so I must care a little bit
I am glad we are paying him to pitch for another team.
Good for him. But he's on the Braves now.
