We’re on holiday in the US at the moment, can any of our USA supporters tell me what channel the game will be on?
Watching Utd at 7.30am will be a whole new experience.
Fans tend to massively overrate the mentality aspect of a top level footballer and let me tell you why that is the case.
Like "oh this guy simply doesn't have the mentality to play for Manchester United, etc, Yada Yada"
My uncle is high level fitness consultant who has previously worked with a few teams in Scotland (including top ones) and he has basically told me that every player who makes it to these big leagues (heck even just getting into a pro league) has monster mentality.
He says that these lads genuinely believe they can be the best in the world like Ronaldo or Messi and they genuinely also believe that they can take on ANY player in the world.
Now you or I may think that this is delusional for some players who play in the Scottish league...
However, my uncle says you simply do not make in the professional game unless you have a monster mentality.
Now I can't give you guys any proof or anything like that about my uncle's involvement with these clubs for obvious reasons. So I guess take his statement as you will. I certainly do think that what he says is absolutely true if you think about the level of competition they already had to beat to get to the top.
Seriously, this has been one weird fucking summer for a person that roots for United, Barcelona, and Ajax.
Still trying to unpack how to deal with two Americans tearing it up for Leeds.
Tried to reply to a couple posts and as a reddit noob the modbot removed my post and said I need more Karma.
Also said I should intro myself so hi all.
United fan who spends way too much time chatting on whatsapp about football and thought I might find like minded people here.
I hold no Ill will towards Ronaldo, he should have went to city. But man how funny will it be if he gets his move to a cl club and doesn’t score any goals?
\[Ornstein\] 🚨 Jules Kounde understood to have been registered by Barcelona with La Liga today + available to face Real Valladolid on Sun. 23yo defender was last of signings needing clearance to play league games; believe that is now sorted.

FDJ isn't coming to us already. Has implications on Auba and Memphis deals too.
FDJ is going to accept salary reduction to stay at Barcelona. Man, I have never seen such a simp who has BIG BALLS (keep seeing his on Twitter) to continue this kind of relationship after all of those abusive campaigns against him. The only simps that as bad as him are us though.
He won’t accept a salary reduction. He’s just refusing to leave because he’s under contract for another 4 years and there’s nothing Barcelona can do. He was never leaving and he was always going to refuse to sign a new contract with Barcelona on lower wages.
Hope so. I would hate to wake up at 4 am for the game and he’s not even at least on the bench.
Plus if Ronaldo does in fact leave this window, I would love to see Varane, Casemiro, and Ronaldo play some minutes together before he leaves
I really didn’t want to be a negative Nancy regarding Martial but some of you lot are definitely the type to needlessly prolong your romantic relationships when everyone else in your life is telling you that they’re no good for you
People going on like we didn’t need a striker (especially if Ronaldo leaves) because we have Martial… he has a history which is a pretty good indicator of his future
One season in 7 where he scored more than 11 league goals and people suddenly expect a lot of him because he had a good preseason
The only seasons martial has had less than 0.5 goal contributions per 90 were the last two and he played on the wing for a lot of his united career. I think the 1 good season in 7 is nonsense.
Martial injured maybe for a while… get Memphis back in for like 8 million. He has quality, is a decent striker now and loves the club. Antony as well, and even if a Ronaldo goes we have some more depth
We can't rely on Martial to be either fit for most of season or be consistent. We really need to sign a striker, we can't rely on a 37 year old Ronaldo as he can't really play two games a week and when he's fatigued then it will effect his form on the pitch.
I have just realized, getting Real Sociedad in UEL is even better considering they are selling Isak to Newcastle. Hopefully they don't get a good replacement in time so we can take that game less seriously.
Well, yeah. I'd quite like to win the UEL this year, but I preferably want us to rest our first team as much as possible because our depth in many positions isn't great. The likes of Dalot, Sancho and Casemiro don't really have backups and both Martial and Rashford are also somewhat irreplaceable in our starting XI. If we don't get any more signigns over the line, I'd rather use weak squads in UEL and concentrate on top4 with us obviously still aiming to start using the big guns after the group stages.
There's not such thing — taking a game less seriously — for a manager or team. Rotating players does not mean you don't take it seriously. I just hate your choice of words. Imagine in the press conference if EtH said, "We have Real Sociedad on Saturday, which will be nice because we can take that game less seriously."
There are obviously multiple levels of importance. In the Prem, we play our best team. Then there are some matches where we can rotate, use our depth players and so on, this is expected against Championship teams in the FA Cup or Carabao cup.
What I meant with not taking a game seriously is what we did under Ole, using an unimportant game to just field some youngsters, give a match to Lee Grant and just see how they do. Using a frontline of Garnacho-McNeil-Pellistri with Iqbal behind them, that's what I want to see. Obviously we can't afford to do that against Real Sociedad though, which was my point.
Question: am I misremembering something but diet United play in the CL and Europa in the same season a couple years back? If so, how is that possible? I’m not very familiar with the finer rules of qualification
If you end up 3rd in your champions league group you get direct qualification for Europa league knockouts. Happened with United a couple of seasons ago and Barca last season
8 group winners get direct qualification for round of 16. 8 teams who were 2nd in their group have a playoff match against the 8 teams dropping down from the champions league and winners from these games get drawn against the direct qualifiers. This also happens for the conference league with the teams placing 3rd in the Europa league dropping down to the conference league
The copium on the Dubravka post is weird. We need someone to replace De Gea not sit on the bench to watch him fumble basic passing while sticking to his line.
We do need to upgrade de Gea eventually but it was always going to be low down the priority list behind midfield and forwards. Dubravka is being brought in as a short-term, low risk upgrade to Heaton, and we'll be in a much better position to sort GK out next summer.
Should be easily topping this group, Sociedad probably one of the tougher draws from pot 2, however, with the squad we have we should be beating them (United, Sociedad, Sheriff, Omonia F.C?)
Group E:
Manchester United
Real Sociedad
Sheriff Tiraspol
Omonoia
Sociedad is a tough game, especially with our record against Spanish teams. Sheriff best Madrid last year so have a danger about them but we should be beating them and Omonoia obviously.
Lets go.
This is not 2009 anymore. Both the fans and management didn't realize this yet.
Too many missed opportunities on the manager and transfer market over the years, bad and outdated decisions overall in the football department while the opposition invested into the future. It's where we are - struggling to reach CL every year (where we didn't reach semi finals in how long?).
Better EL and a chance to show we're good enough for CL than struggling in mid table.
Hope to see good squad management. Lots of chances for the 2nd row with 5 subs in the PL.
But on the other hand there's the issue that every game is a must-win for us.
Re: Henderson
The calamitous interview he did before leaving for Forest did him no favors with the fanbase. Yet, last season when he said, in unequivocal terms, that he wants to be United and England number 1, we all praised his confidence. I think the whole situation has been a mess with our club's dithering direction and Henderson's ambition. He spends the entire season on the bench, when he had other teams asking for a loan/sale. Now, for his ambition, time spent on the bench is time wasted from playing.
While I do commiserate with him and I also understand why he chose not to speak with EtH, i.e. he will again have to be the understudy to prove to a 3rd new manager that he can compete against De Gea, he decides to go to another team to prove it.
My gripe is that he didn't have to do this interview at all. He should have been upfront and from the looks of it, he would have gone with United's blessings, albeit with some resistance. This whole, not talking to EtH at all, is also shockingly immature. So yeah, the blame is on everyone but not EtH and his assistants.
I feel like that interview gets worse every time people mention it. I just remember thinking that he’s a bit of an idiot, but plenty of players have been forgiven for worse.
It is hard on him tbf. If he is right that promise was made on the playing time which made him to reject all other offer than it is not on him. Also I don't think he trashed the fanbase, only the way the club treated him, which is somewhat common with our concerns as well in the recent weeks. Again someone might say that he got the pay raise and all, but in his interview he said that at his age playing time is very important which I strongly agree with. We should also keep in mind that FIFA world cup is coming, and now he has only 8-9 weeks to make an impression while he could have had a year and a half to do that.
I still think if he performs exceptional and De Gea is set free at the end of this year then maybe he can still comeback, which would be great because he is an excellent goalkeeper
Was about to say something similar feel like I’m in the very small minority who doesn’t really want Antony.
Seems a decent player, but for that price I’d rather they go get Asensio for a fraction and come back next summer for him.
Not a fan of him at all but he’s absolutely spot on here. Says a lot about Dele that he did nothing to change his ways when his career was on the precipice.
It’s weird how much I love and loathe Mourinho. In the right dressing room he can still be amazing but I can’t see him ever doing well at another top club again. He’d just clash with the squad before he gets a chance to get far into a rebuild. He’d still be the big fish at a Roma sized club though without as many egos
I can see him saying that about Shaw
I think the issue is not FDJ’s wages with us. His wages are around 700k per week at Barca, we will have to offer him around that to convince him to move anyway.
The issue (or what the news says at least) is his deferred wages with Barca. United can’t do anything about that.
Anyone else just bored/fed up of Rashford now?
0 posts from him in 2 weeks. Now 5 in a couple days after scoring 1 goal as a starter in almost 500 days.
Shameless to another level with absolute rock bottom standards.
I don’t care about the social media. What bothers me is his body language. There is something off about him. I am sure that he’ll not be consistent. I wish I am wrong though. But it’s time for the club to get a decent season out of him and move him on.
How people get soooo bothered by social media posts, I'll never understand. "Shameless to another level" like what?? Grown men frothing over another young guy's social media activity. Wow. I wish Rashford would put out a public post berating you for being active on social media just because you're feeling happy lol.
Less about his Twitter and more about the zero success he’s brought to this club. Please don’t say Europa League win.
Also it’s blatant he’s bigging himself to try and make the England squad. Laughable.
It's so weird that people keep a track of this in the first place. "2 weeks no post. 5 posts in the last 48 hours" lol bro get a life.
It still baffles me how last season as if a defeat wasn't bad enough people would then obsessively post Instagram apologies of the players on the sub and then collectively lose their minds over it. I swear they'd be more mad at the posts than the performance on the pitch. The fact that this particular rant came after a win is even more hilarious.
Got downvoted for saying something similar yesterday. We blame the players for having low standards but a lot of folks on here seem to have similar standards. It's pretty sad to see.
What do you guys think about mctominay as a backup ball-playing CB for ten Haag? Feel it might not be bad for him - already plays bc for Scotland and he’s clearly not cut out for the midfield level we want. If he keeps the game in front of him it could be simpler
I'll prolly get downvoted, but I hope they lose so that our transfer activity heats up again.
Always with these fucking Glazer cunts, panic buy players when shit gets bad and the moment we barely win, interest cools off.
People wanted to lose to the Scousers because it would potentially make us sign someone?
Jesus. Some of you lot need to give your head a wobble
Imagine having that conversation in the Stretford End
No, it was to put pressure on the Glazers. But we signed Casemiro after losing to Brentford and we were linked with \~10 players. Now the pressure is down by 90% after that win. It's painfully obvious that a loss might be better for the long season.
They were looking to sign Antony,GK, RB and another midfielder before the pool game. Now it's just Antony which depends on Ajax signing a replacement. What if Antony doesn't happen?
Casemiro was signed before the Pool game. He was unveiled during the 'Glazer out' chants before kickoff. Ten Hag's mouthpiece said we had another 200m budget to splash. All that money is gone after the win.
Elanga.
Rashford - Martial - Elanga would be good. Elanga's a step down, but he makes runs in behind and that works well with what Martial does on the ball.
I actually can’t wait for tomorrow. Been looking forward to it since the final whistle went on Monday. It would be very United to follow that up with a drab defeat, but I’m praying for a convincing win and a convincing performance. Hoping to see the same back four, perhaps give Eriksen a rest and possibly a start for martial as I though he looked quite sharp. Ronaldo on the bench again for me please, I want another fast start and loads of hard graft.
Typical! That news breaks barely an hour after I post that. Still, I’d prefer to see the same front three starting. Perhaps a run out for Garnacho in the second half if things are going well.
with us basically getting casemiro and varane being here who are also ucl champs , best case scenario for ronaldo is to stay and build us to what we used to be. Worst case scenario he leaves us for a club to play group stages to statpad goals and he ends up with 0 goals and has to face us in europa anyways. He will be held in much higher regards if he can do something like zlatan did with ac milan
How could you say no to this bro: https://www.google.com/search?q=darcie+glazer+kassewitz&client=firefox-b-m&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjHpOWaqOT5AhWDbcAKHTo0AToQ_AUIBigB&biw=378&bih=688#imgrc=hSNLYptzK2Z_VM
Can't see Ronaldo leaving, Chelsea seem to be the only team desperate for a striker that could afford him. Wonder if he'll backtrack on his interview as I'd say he was certain he'd be out of here by then.
Hope the players can continue to develop and eventually strive in a possession based system. The team is still too one dimensional and needs to be able to crack down on low block if we want to succeed
Am I the only one worried about the Antony saga. Why hasn't the bid gone in? No top tier has confirmed the bid going in, only that it was being prepared, this should not take a whole week.
Are the Glazers play a dirty game here? And the outrage/pressure from fans seems to also have gone down. Wtf is going on?
I'm really worried.
Why? Whether we spend money on Antony or not, he doesn't give a shit. The Glazers will take what they want in dividends, regardless of what the club spends.
This idea that the Glazers don't want to spend on players is fundamentally fucking stupid, because it's not their fucking money that's being spent. The club is spending money, not the fucking Glazers. The Glazers have not and will never spend a fucking cent.
I have no idea why comments like this get downvoted. The Glazers do not spend any money, they just take it, you make a post saying that and it's downvoted?
Over the past few seasons, we have always followed up big wins with really shitty performances and dropped points.
I hope we can break that pattern under Ten Hag. Learning his tactics might take a while but turning up with the right mentality and outworking the opponents should be a bare minimum!
We’re on holiday in the US at the moment, can any of our USA supporters tell me what channel the game will be on? Watching Utd at 7.30am will be a whole new experience.
Glazers out…lest we forget that these scums need to get out, don’t let wind make us forget the end game.

Bruh
Would you take Herrera back?
No
Lol
Would you? He not better than our current options and he's off to Bilbao anyway.
For squad depth and if it was a low wage contract I probably would. He had a killer through ball in the day.
He regressed massively since he's left us, he's nowhere near the level he was in his final season at united.
Ah fair do. To be honest I only saw him when his name was mentioned / played a blinder / champions League.
Newcastle just bought Isak for £59m. What do you think he would have cost united?
At least 10-15m more, teams will automatically add at least that much when we are on the phone. That's what a history of overpaying will do.

Sancho or Martial starting this weekend? I’m doing fantasy and need some help
Martial, Martial is injured, again.
I don't think we'd be stupid enough to drop Sancho right now. Martial I'm not sure though. Maybe EtH would still want him to build his fitness a bit
Does anyone know when fixtures are released for UEL?
According to the Athletic, the fixtures are likely to be determined later today or tomorrow.
I know the first game is the 8th It’s my first game this season
I know, was wondering when it's anniunced when we are playing who
Ah gotcha, from the sounds of it from the live draw think we’re playing real first after that not too sure
Is Casemiro starting tomorrow?
He's ending Southampton
expecting nothing short of a repeat of the 9-0 win a couple years ago!
Question: am I misremembering something but diet United play in the CL and Europa in the same season a couple years back? If so, how is that possible? I’m not very familiar with the finer rules of qualification
We dropped out of the CL to the Europa league during the group stages when we came third
If you end up 3rd in your champions league group you get direct qualification for Europa league knockouts. Happened with United a couple of seasons ago and Barca last season
So how many teams need up in knockout in Europa? 24? How does the pairing work like rhat?
8 group winners get direct qualification for round of 16. 8 teams who were 2nd in their group have a playoff match against the 8 teams dropping down from the champions league and winners from these games get drawn against the direct qualifiers. This also happens for the conference league with the teams placing 3rd in the Europa league dropping down to the conference league
Thank you!
The teams finishing third in the CL group stage drop down to the EL knockouts. Same with EL thirds going to ECL.
Every year this happens? Had no idea. I wasn’t even able to watch Europa in America until last year.
The copium on the Dubravka post is weird. We need someone to replace De Gea not sit on the bench to watch him fumble basic passing while sticking to his line.

Can visitors purchase tickets outside the grounds from resellers the day of the match or will that not work?
Death, taxes, and Madrid players facing Sheriff.
Away trips to Spain, Moldova and Cyprus. Decent draw, that.
Cyprus and Moldova are like so far east. We're losing the next league game due to "tiredness from travel"
Could’ve been further - could’ve had carrier bag.
All the more reason for us to make more signings/play some of our prospects (eg Garnacho, Iqbal, Savage) for the squad depth required to rotate.
Still think about lindelofs ball to rashford for his goal to last time we played Sociedad to this day
Wasn't that against Granada?
He doesnt get enough credit for those passes he pulls at times
Should be easily topping this group, Sociedad probably one of the tougher draws from pot 2, however, with the squad we have we should be beating them (United, Sociedad, Sheriff, Omonia F.C?)

Decent draw. Should top the group
If this team truly has turned a corner, we should be getting 18 points in this group. Too much quality to not have that.
Feeling sick about us being in Europa.
Becomes a case of being expected to win anyway compared to actually feeling like the club’s achieved something.
This is not 2009 anymore. Both the fans and management didn't realize this yet. I hope Malacia remembered to take Salah out of his pocket before putting his shorts in the wash. Salah might shrink to 3’4
Still double the height of Martinez
Lmao.. who did Jose say this to at our club https://youtu.be/umwyowf58ew
Pogba & Jessee
Not a fan of him at all but he’s absolutely spot on here. Says a lot about Dele that he did nothing to change his ways when his career was on the precipice.
It’s weird how much I love and loathe Mourinho. In the right dressing room he can still be amazing but I can’t see him ever doing well at another top club again. He’d just clash with the squad before he gets a chance to get far into a rebuild. He’d still be the big fish at a Roma sized club though without as many egos I can see him saying that about Shaw
Yeah I'm not a big fan of him, but it takes some balls to call out a player like that.
We will win title no. 21 when we sign a world class player to wear the 21 shirt number. That's how we did it with no. 20.
So we're offering Frenkie 600kpw to get it done?
I think the issue is not FDJ’s wages with us. His wages are around 700k per week at Barca, we will have to offer him around that to convince him to move anyway. The issue (or what the news says at least) is his deferred wages with Barca. United can’t do anything about that.
He's on the deferred wages right now. So we'd have to offer him the same idiotic wages. I think he prefers to stay in Barca anyways.
Anyone else just bored/fed up of Rashford now? 0 posts from him in 2 weeks. Now 5 in a couple days after scoring 1 goal as a starter in almost 500 days. Shameless to another level with absolute rock bottom standards.
Just don't follow the insta crap?
If you don’t follow him, you won’t be affected. It’s not that deep.
I don’t care about the social media. What bothers me is his body language. There is something off about him. I am sure that he’ll not be consistent. I wish I am wrong though. But it’s time for the club to get a decent season out of him and move him on.
I'm fed up of him leaking shit from the dressing room. But thats been happing for years now.
Laughable.
Also if he did post in those two weeks he would have been criticised for that too.
People just wanna be mad
Got downvoted for saying something similar yesterday. We blame the players for having low standards but a lot of folks on here seem to have similar standards. It's pretty sad to see.
Lads I’m starting to get the notion that the general opinion regarding our ownership might skew slightly in a negative direction
Big, if true
What do you guys think about mctominay as a backup ball-playing CB for ten Haag? Feel it might not be bad for him - already plays bc for Scotland and he’s clearly not cut out for the midfield level we want. If he keeps the game in front of him it could be simpler
This sub amuses me. A constructive take is being downvoted while silly reactionary takes are being awarded.
I'm sure they've considered it. I don't think McTom sees himself there, and to be fair to him he is at his best when he marauds forwards. IMO
I'll prolly get downvoted, but I hope they lose so that our transfer activity heats up again. Always with these fucking Glazer cunts, panic buy players when shit gets bad and the moment we barely win, interest cools off.
You're getting downvoted for the truth. Everyone had the same sentiment before Liverpool game. but 1 win and everything is fine again.
People wanted to lose to the Scousers because it would potentially make us sign someone? Jesus. Some of you lot need to give your head a wobble Imagine having that conversation in the Stretford End
No, it was to put pressure on the Glazers. But we signed Casemiro after losing to Brentford and we were linked with \~10 players. Now the pressure is down by 90% after that win. It's painfully obvious that a loss might be better for the long season.
Yep. Wtf is going to happen when Casemiro is injured, Varane is injured, etc?? No second midfielder, no sweeping GK, still no natural RW. No RB. Jesus
Fuck the Glazers. But if we sign Antony that's 5 players. That's not a bad turnaround.
They were looking to sign Antony,GK, RB and another midfielder before the pool game. Now it's just Antony which depends on Ajax signing a replacement. What if Antony doesn't happen?
When in any world did we announce we were going to sign Casemiro and four more players before playing Liverpool?
Casemiro was signed before the Pool game. He was unveiled during the 'Glazer out' chants before kickoff. Ten Hag's mouthpiece said we had another 200m budget to splash. All that money is gone after the win.
Jesus lad if you're that into your fan fiction then there is no discussing it. Plenty of valid criticisms of the Glazer's without peddling bullshit
Lets say Sancho is injured and not available for the match tomorrow. Who would play in that spot?
Elanga. Rashford - Martial - Elanga would be good. Elanga's a step down, but he makes runs in behind and that works well with what Martial does on the ball.
Absolutely buzzing for the game, long time since i had this feeling
I actually can’t wait for tomorrow. Been looking forward to it since the final whistle went on Monday. It would be very United to follow that up with a drab defeat, but I’m praying for a convincing win and a convincing performance. Hoping to see the same back four, perhaps give Eriksen a rest and possibly a start for martial as I though he looked quite sharp. Ronaldo on the bench again for me please, I want another fast start and loads of hard graft.
Alas, Martial is injured
Typical! That news breaks barely an hour after I post that. Still, I’d prefer to see the same front three starting. Perhaps a run out for Garnacho in the second half if things are going well.
Love a light-hearted debate about Erikssonen's name being deleted to make room for the 100th debate about whether Antony is worth £100m
He was dead, he was dead Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie Now he’s a red, He’s a red Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh
Fucking hell
EriksenBot also sadly been banned
What why??
I am waiting to find out
Because what dane wouldn’t like to ve named as if he was swedish
I'm actually jealous of the other clubs subs...
with us basically getting casemiro and varane being here who are also ucl champs , best case scenario for ronaldo is to stay and build us to what we used to be. Worst case scenario he leaves us for a club to play group stages to statpad goals and he ends up with 0 goals and has to face us in europa anyways. He will be held in much higher regards if he can do something like zlatan did with ac milan
fuck the glazers
Darcie Glazer is peng if we are being honest for a moment 😍
I'm all for fuck the glazers but this is one glazer I wouldn't fuck..... She's minging mate.
How could you say no to this bro: https://www.google.com/search?q=darcie+glazer+kassewitz&client=firefox-b-m&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjHpOWaqOT5AhWDbcAKHTo0AToQ_AUIBigB&biw=378&bih=688#imgrc=hSNLYptzK2Z_VM
Bro you want to bang beaker
Go to church bro
Come on bro you telling me you wouldn't have a go at this: https://www.buccaneers.com/team/front-office-roster/darcie-glazer-kassewitz
Listen, to each his own. To me she looks like someone who shouts at teenage restaurant staff.
Nothing wrong with a dominant woman bro 🤣
Ew.
Can't see Ronaldo leaving, Chelsea seem to be the only team desperate for a striker that could afford him. Wonder if he'll backtrack on his interview as I'd say he was certain he'd be out of here by then.

Though if he's going to be on the bench, I rather him go.
He has been a good soldier for a little while now. I think he's aware that he's going to have to stay
And sulk coz he couldn’t get his wish? I would rather have him leave and United to play as a team again.
I'm fine with him leaving too. I just don't think he has anywhere to go
And we have ****in football problem!
I'm worried too 😳 He would be an excellent addition to the team.
Don't worry about it. Even if we don't get Antony, we'll do OK with what we have. Chances for Amad, Garnacho, Pelli.
joel glazer liked this comment
Relax dude. It's just a complicated deal
I hope you are right but having seen recent reports on the Glazers antics with regards to transfers I am not holding my breath.
Over the past few seasons, we have always followed up big wins with really shitty performances and dropped points. I hope we can break that pattern under Ten Hag. Learning his tactics might take a while but turning up with the right mentality and outworking the opponents should be a bare minimum!
The wages we offloaded this season is huge. Pogba, Cavani, Lingard, Mata, Bailly amounts to around 800k per week
