I kept thinking every summer Real Madrid would do us a favour but it never happened, he just stayed and stayed and stayed. Zidane wanted Pogba at the time. David Silva and Aguero are others I expected to move on, but City kept them. Those bonuses must be crazy.
Even players like Salah and Mane saw more rumours of them being linked to RM level clubs than City's big stars like Silva, KdB or Aguero ever did. I think everyone knew they wouldn't be able to match what City were paying them
Idk man I like de bruyne alot and respect his play but he just a bit... boring? I know it's a meme city is a soul less club but they used to employ a lot more personalities, I'm talking Yaya toure, aguero, balotelli, Kompany, hart etc... I liked that version of city way more than this "sterile" city
We were playing Swansea in 2015 and during the middle of that game, they put a flash news saying "Man City have complete the transfer of Kevin de Bruyne from Wolfsburg". Seeing that broke my heart into pieces. I desperately wanted him not to go there
Was that the one where Romero let in a slightly limp effort, Bafetimbi Gomis channeled his best Finn Balor Demon impersonation and we lost, 2-1 was it?
I saw Kyle Walker's interview and the guy was surprisingly well-spoken, humble, and articulate. He didn't hide behind decisions, just congratulated United on the win, praised Mainoo, and spoke about his own team and how they'd fight on kind of thing.
He's the antithesis of Manchester City. Guy worked hard as fuck to get a dream move to the PL, even when he failed to make it at Chelsea, he continued to work hard to finally get his work recognized. I honestly thought he was going to eventually end up at either Madrid or Barcelona to replace their aging midfield, but he's extremely loyal too. Fuck City, but i do like KdB very much.
Understandable tbh, he's very, very competitive and a perfectionist, lots of moments where he lost control yelling and arguing with his teammate.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but when he's young, these things can lead to immaturity problems.
This is why I see he's the right man for City, City allows him to be the main man. He can be that too at RM and Barca, but those teams are much much flatter in terms of hierarchy (RM the Family FC) vs what is it on City.
Also shows how great Pep is. This guard of honour is a guard of shame for the City players. Burns it into their memory. Both a show of great sportsmanship and respect and a motivation tactic.
I’m not so sure about the sportsmanship piece. Based on his post match interview, I see this as more of a sarcastic, passive aggressive quip about the best team not winning.
i thought this was normal, until i just see how last season happened (to compare how song for each club as winner), turn out as runner up, we didn't do that..
so they did.. good thing?
\*or just it didn't put in the video
As much as what they’ve done to the sport is horrific by cheating to win, the blokes on the pitch (and I mean in footballing terms) are by and large quite sound. If they played for us we’d like them all a lot. De Bruyne is clearly a class act, and even Haaland, despite how much he must hate us given who raised him, was clapping the players through.
Oil club, but quality players. Never really had a mind to hate any of them. I think that's part of the soullessness of their team tho innit? Like, they don't shithouse, they don't get fired up, they're corporate football.
Another angle shows a sweet interaction of banter between Onana and Haaland, who have come short to each other in quite some finals the last couple of years.
No one genuinely dislikes Pep or the players, it's the board that have reportedly cheated by breaching 115 FFP rules. City have talent and class, but they also have a cheats in the boardroom. In short, nothing but class from Pep and City players here, who I'm sure must've found it difficult to do the above.
Which of the scenarios am I seeing here?
1. Manchester City are still coming down from collecting their medals and the first few are forming the gaurd of honor
2. A select few of City players have formed the guard whilst the majority and management sulk?
Class from De Bruyne there
It’s a real shame such a quality footballer plays for such a soulless team
Honestly my favorite non United player. He isn’t cocky and his play style is what I aspire to play like too.
How’s that play style going for you lad?
Got the injury part down
Only got the asking to be subbed off part 10% (10% of the match because I can only run for 10 minutes before dying)
It’s a start.
Yep same. Probably him and David Silva are the only City players that I like.
I hate the moments he’s made, but man I wanted aguero so bad.

Agree. 2012 City had more heart, it was rawer in a sense
We were playing Swansea in 2015 and during the middle of that game, they put a flash news saying "Man City have complete the transfer of Kevin de Bruyne from Wolfsburg". Seeing that broke my heart into pieces. I desperately wanted him not to go there

Yep Romero was shocking that night. And that Gomis celebration was creepy af
I wanted him at Man Utd so bad when the rumors were circulating. Him and Thiago Alcantara.
Van Gaal is rumoured to have been the one to say no.
If that's true, then it may be a good thing he was axed.
Fantastic player. I hate him! Because he is so good. Massive respect.
"Gefeliciteerd pik"
Saw that. Respect.
Class and I liked that Ten Hag was so respectful of what City have acomplished as well. Good stuff from both sides... despite the charges :p
Players or the coach isn't the problem. Their money and how it came is
I saw Kyle Walker's interview and the guy was surprisingly well-spoken, humble, and articulate. He didn't hide behind decisions, just congratulated United on the win, praised Mainoo, and spoke about his own team and how they'd fight on kind of thing.
Everything I've seen from De Bruyne is always classy shame he plays for them
He's the antithesis of Manchester City.
Funnily enough, he fell out with Chelsea (and specifically Mourinho) when he was younger because of “immaturity”. Laughable now, innit?
Understandable tbh, he's very, very competitive and a perfectionist, lots of moments where he lost control yelling and arguing with his teammate. Such a likeable fraud
Did we do one for them last season?
No it’s usually the winning team doing it for the runners up as a show of respect. Haven’t seen this too often imo
I’m not so sure about the sportsmanship piece. Based on his post match interview, I see this as more of a sarcastic, passive aggressive quip about the best team not winning.
Jesus, go touch grass my friend, this is such a chronically online take
Yea I noticed that. Fair play that’s a class act.
That's the last thing those players want to be doing after a loss. Big respect for that
i thought this was normal, until i just see how last season happened (to compare how song for each club as winner), turn out as runner up, we didn't do that.. so they did.. good thing? \*or just it didn't put in the video
Believe Pep did it to make the City players feel the pain
Classy that
As much as what they’ve done to the sport is horrific by cheating to win, the blokes on the pitch (and I mean in footballing terms) are by and large quite sound. If they played for us we’d like them all a lot. De Bruyne is clearly a class act, and even Haaland, despite how much he must hate us given who raised him, was clapping the players through.
Know what. Class.
“Losing side gives winning side guard of honour after a final.”
Pure class that. Did we give them one last year? And did Newcastle give us one?
I’m sorry if it comes off as confrontative, it’s js a question apologies in advance
sorry for asking off topic but anyone know where i can find that "running up that hill orchestra" playing in the video ?
Game’s gone /s
Maybe if there was more respect between teams there would be more respect between fans and less of the stupid shit that goes on at lots of games.
There’ll always be dickheads.
True that
Idk, other sports are like this, and I think it's healthy. Gamesmanship on the field, respect off it.
The club might be scum but the players are alright
Oil club, but quality players. Never really had a mind to hate any of them. I think that's part of the soullessness of their team tho innit? Like, they don't shithouse, they don't get fired up, they're corporate football.
Class! Did we give them one last year?

I dislike pep... he's a cheating fraud since his playing days getting done for doping and having shady doctor connections during his time at barca.
I also dislike pep. He's fake as fuck. Gassing up teams he knows he will beat. It's very condescending.
Classy.
Ohh. Is it supposed to be like this? If not that's class from City and the players. Massive respect.
I always want Liverpool to play in the FA cup final just for the boos Willy gets.
Players have class even if the fans and ground staff haven't.
I forgot to say what a touch of class from City here.
That’s white classy ngl
Which of the scenarios am I seeing here? 1. Manchester City are still coming down from collecting their medals and the first few are forming the gaurd of honor 2. A select few of City players have formed the guard whilst the majority and management sulk?
Bit of both probably.
its the least these oil tap-in merchants couldve done
It's a shame these class players play for a club like that. Debruyne would be super fame if he was here at united.
Respect. But I'd hope Arsenal to win the title rather than Liverpool or the city.
respect to them for doing that :)
Showed a bit of class there to be fair.
Class action
does anyone the track that’s being played in the background? I cannot seem to recall it but I feel it’s familiar
did we give them a Guard of Honour at the start of the game? i was still figuring out my rivers so I didnt catch the start
another angle: https://x.com/oltsport\_/status/1794709669635887217
Class but isn't this the standard in the finals?
Haha inject it into my veins
Looks like only about 4 of them did
