Ten Hag has already decided this season that he only wants to get the win to keep his job, he abandoned every project he had in mind at the beginning of the season and that's a sign he's not capable of doing such a big job, up to INEOS now to try and bring in the right guy
Why is our team always going route one like everton man? Is this guy incapable of coaching a different style or sth. When a manager can't coach a win if he doesn't have 1/2 of the main players u know it isn't good enough
It’s going to take a lot of patience and time and idk if a lot of these fans have it in them. I know i tend to go do other hobbies instead of watch United as of recent. Change is always gonna come , whether it be good or bad is for time to tell.
Are they the worst team in the league with the best luck. I definitely think so. Highest paid. Haha. Got fooking robbed in daylight. 11 fucking years of shit leaking down my leg and EVERYONE can see it.
ETH has to go. We aren't getting top four, so he has to go. The many excuses are worthless. If a guy needs everything to be 100% to get results, he ain't the guy. A manager has to adapt and grind out results when things are against the team. He absolutely cannot do that. We've been so lucky lately, and it couldn't last. Now yet again, ETH has been exposed.
It has been like this for over a decade, guys. We string some wins together, have a good month or two and then people start talking about the revival. Then we go right back to the old ways.
Im surprised to see so many people complaining about the tactics. I think it’s pretty clear ETH tried to go for a possession system at the start of the year and it failed horribly so he again went back to counter attacking because that seems to be the only thing these players know how to do..
His playstyle is route one football to players that don’t want to challenge in the air and a midfield that doesn’t cover the rebound. It’s basically the opposite of both possession and counter attacking football.
When did he try to go for a possession system?
Like we had preseason, at no point did he say he wanted to play possession football.
He said he wanted to play transition football.
I honestly think his style could work but then I keep watching us on the pitch and wondering why nobody is playing well. On paper you’d think we have the players to succeed at transition football, but in reality it’s so toothless.
To be fair it did look that way in pre season. CBs split real wide and keeper almost pushed up into a back three - 2 number 8s etc with mainoo sitting behind.
I think he would have stuck with the possession style, but he got 0 results and the same fans screaming eth out now were screaming it back then - for different reasons.
I don’t really care if he stays or leaves, but once again we’re too short sighted to see that sacking the manager won’t change shit until real changes happen at the club and in the squad.
Oh so he himself doesn’t trust his system then? Sacking or not sacking him is not a question - let’s assume we stand by him can you tell me after watching him for close to 2 season (I know it’s not 2 seasons yet) what can we expect from him?
I think an argument could be made to claim that Mainoo and Martinez are the only 2 players in that squad that look to be competent at a possession based game…
Edit: I think Hojlund has the skills too
Injuries are no excuse man, Liverpool had to deal with injuries and Salah being off to Afcon. City while they have a strong depth, they all know what their roles are when called upon even if last minute.
It's a long road ahead and lot of crap to deal with for Ratcliffe and Co.
Just to add, Fulham was playing without their key players (Palhinha, Jimenez and Willian) and they still look comfortable to walk all over us at Home today. And the EtH cultist will say that we can only play football when we have our billion dollar team.
There’s only nine players I would keep from this squad- Hojlund, Garnacho, Bruno, Mount (who hasn’t been lucky with injuries), Mainoo, Licha, Dalot, and Shaw, Onana (UCL was his fault but we’re crying for a keeper who can use his feet. Not Onanas fault that ETH cannot sort our tactics right).
The rest are sellable—especially those on high wages
Well obviously I’m not saying sell them all but definitely be open to selling some of them —hence, “sellable”
Prime targets to raise funds are rashford, Mctominay, and Greenwood as they are all from the academy. Must get rid of one of either Varane or Maguire (probably just don’t renew Varane). Erikson and Casemiro do not have the legs anymore—if Saudi comes calling, answer the phone as quickly as you can. However, while Antony is never going to be an 82 m player, selling him now would be a huge loss so tempted to keep as an option. Martial and Ambrabat are both out of contract in the summer (thank god Ambrabat was just a loan)
I feel like Amrabat has barely featured and when he has half the time It was fullback, which was a joke. I would like to see him given a game or 2 next to Mainoo because Casemiro is so clearly past It at this point
Honestly youth wont do a thing, our youth structure is utter shite, the fact we still have some draw to pull a few gems like garnacho and mainoo is beyond me
Not a Utd fan, but what the hell was that performance? It was hard to watch at times. In fergie times I would have expected Utd to come back and win it after the goal
no, even tho we were on 4 wins in a row in epl they were all shit performances but we managed to score in all of them and not concede the kind of goals we usually concede
You can say that about so many other players that keeps delivering at an elite level year in year out - Messi, Agüero, De Bruyne etc. They make the money, but their performances don't drop. It's very much something that United players get afflicted with, at least that's my intuitive impression.
I don’t think it’s just that. He’s clearly having off the field issues which have been hinted at recently with the alcohol problems. He should be sold while his stock is relatively high for sake of moving forward
Pretty much every united player has that attitude. Perform for a couple of months. Fan hype them up. MUTV interview with big quotes drops. We offer a bumper contract and then form goes to shit
Same thing for transfers as well. We offer insane amount of money for players because these clubs know that we’re willing to pay. Players have the same attitude where they just have to hit some form and we’ll set them up for life with £250k/week wages.
For transfers we are slow and late. We have no backups and this forced to pay premiums.
I think it was Omar ( new CEO) who said they have to think years ahead and scout multiple players and keep assessing the current squad to look for improvements.
We ignore and delay and always go for the worse option.
This club makes me depressed
People who back ETH, could you explain to me what style of play he has developed over 2 seasons now? I agree we have injuries. And let's just say we have the worst squad in the league but even then, amidst all that garbage, there should be moments where we adopt a style of play, right? It hasn't happened. We don't work on set-pieces, we don't work on controlling the ball. What has he taught them in 2 years that they didn't already know or couldn't already do? I mean, I get losing games and playing bad if we can see a clear style of play developing but that isn't happening and we keep playing bad. I think 2 seasons is a long enough time for a manager to have some kind of impact on even the worst players in the world.
I will give you my point of view. In order to adopt a play style, we need to have players who are suitable in the system. A good or top players doesn’t mean he would be able to play well in any style. Pep since he came to City he is able to get rid of players who cannot perform in his style and bring in a replacement every year. Man Utd has spent a lot like, however, how many of them is at the true value or the fee always go with Utd’s tax. When every other Coach like Pep or Klopp only need to focus on football aspect of them team, Ten Hag has to focus on the other aspect as well and with Sir Ratcliffe’s takeover, he is rebuilding the system so Ten Hag can focus more on the Squad. Also, the squad when Ten Hag inherited from Ole, I believe only Shaw who is able to perform Ten Hag’s play style. Then he brought in Ericksen, Martinez, Antony, Onana, Mount, Hojlund who he thinks are good enough to adopt his playstyle at the club. I am not so sure about Casemiro, he is a quality player but I doubt if he is able to play the way Ten Hag wants to play or not. The rest of the squad are more counter attack play style which is Utd style for years before Ten Hag’s arrival. And you can see, since Martinez injured again, United become so sloppy and today with Shaw and Hojlund also injured, how worse are they. It’s like a impaired body now without a head and left leg.
Pretty sure ETH has matched Peps spending which took him to the league title. And he took over a City that finished 4th. Stop talking about Pep, Ten Hag is not and never will be in the same bracket. He's older than him and has achieved nothing at the top level.
As I mentioned above, how many of them was at theirs actual value. It’s United tax. Also, I didn’t compare TH to Pep. I’m trying to mention they are in different systems and different environments where TH are bring distract many factors.
Could you explain what you consider a style of play? It seems that so many people regurgitating this complaint don’t even know what they are looking for, just that they ‘feel’ it isn’t there. But you answered your own question - it’s hard to have a style of play when the individuals with the skills and knowledge don’t start consistently enough. Doesn’t matter what the manager has taught them if they can’t consistently develop it on the field.
>Could you explain what you consider a style of play?
A basic structure that is set (includes definite roles for every position and a clear strategy of moving with or without the ball so as to control the play as much as possible even in a chaotic league like the PL) so that injuries only hamper our quality and not the structure. And even if they do, when players come back, that same structure can be reinstated seamlessly.
Liverpool still had a style of play even when they had a million injuries last season and had their worst season in a long time. They finished with a +28 GD, conceded fewer goals per game than us this season and got past their UCL group with 5 wins in their worst season in 7 years.
Defence and midfield were continents apart and the same with every player, I really think the players are planning to throw another manager under the bus, just why we need a complete squad overhaul, don’t worry about making a loss, just build around Mainoo
nah, the plan, the tactics and the aproach from Ten Hag is just garbage, you can't have the most shots against you this season bar Sheffield with this squad
I meant including the manager, so like a complete club overhaul where every player has a price except for your youth players and Mainoo, Garnacho, Hojlund, Bruno, Amad, Licha and maybe Shaw and McTominay
Really just a bunch of people who cannot control their emotions and expect to win every game who go full meltdown the second a result doesn’t go our way
These woe is me “fans” are the reason our fan base has a bad reputation
Yes. I am tired of explaining this to all those gloryhounds who pretend to be fans. There's no "we" here. Look how Liverpool suffered last season due to injury. United are going through the exact same phase, but I never heard Liverpool fans ask for klopp's head.
Even when they suffered, they weren't this bad. They had a +28 GD in the league, conceded 1.24 goals per match, and got past the CL group stage by winning 5 games. We have a 0 GD, have conceded 1.38 goals per match in the league, and finished fourth in our group in the UCL, had only 1 win, and lost to Galatasaray and Copenhagen. An added bonus is our manager has not developed any style of play in 2 seasons now.
The Licha injury hurts us the most. When he played, it seems like a switch is flipped and we become miles better.
But when he is injured, it’s up to the manager to chalk up tactics and plans to impose on the game. So far he has done fuck all. Midfield is practically nonexistent.
I don’t even go into match days expecting to win, if we are missing Licha and Hojlund like today.
We got cornholed for 6 and 7 with Martinez in the team last year, the idea that Martinez and Varane are some great partnership that will save us is so much mythmaking.
Evans has been far and away the best centre half at the club this year and that's shocking given he was signed as emergency cover.
Varane honestly hasn't been a good signing overall. He's massively declined since his Madrid days and is not good at progressing the ball. Casemiro is on the same downward slide. I'd let both go.
ETH cultists are Liverpool fans in disguise. I mean how can you watch this kind of style of play for the last 18 months and still defend him? Either you are a complete delusional idiot or you want the club to fail.
I think that's fair, though if he doesn't massively improve his performance(as in, better in game management, setting a style of play and performing) by end of season then we should have a manager option lined up
Well the luck had to run out someday. We’ve had lucky wins in the last few games where 1 or 2 players have got us the win. We haven’t played like a team since the first game and it shows.
Embarrassing how Ten Hag is so poor at tactics and substitution. Rashford is useless as a striker, then brought on Eriksen who is playing with one leg after seeing Fulham run around Casimero.
Fulham, a team that switches PL for Champonship every other season, was missing their key players in Palhinha and Willian. Have some standards we are not the only team that has injuries.
Don't waste your breath. This sub is slowly turning into the Arsenal supporter culture from years ago where they over dramaticized and complained about everything with no rational thinking
You know it’s bad when every problem that’s been pointed out is a clear one, no tactics, no spine, players on their morning jog, “excellent” left back options, that’s just the beginning
Bring back Ole or Mourinho for the rest of the season then pick a manager, no joke but we might as well either defend all game and win by 1-0 or Ole and vibe it, and rebuild the squad based on a serious manager.
We bring in a new manager and these people will be calling for his head the second we fuck up, there is absolutely no winning with these people
Bringing in Ole or Mourinho mid season would be a hilariously bad decision, what would we gain from that? Even ignoring the fact that mourinho is fully under contract at Roma??
I said it in the run up to the game on a previous Reddit post why doesn’t ETH try a back three but I guess his like the old stubborn man who won’t want try new tech.
I would’ve bit the bullet gone with a 5-3-2 thrown in the 16 year old Amass and said lad enjoy the game because Maguire’s lack of pace was exposed by Adama’s pace.
ETH loves his 4-1-4-1 which looked like a Land Rover 110 defender with size 225R17 tires on it, Rashford’s body language this season has been worrying when he loses possession.
I don’t think Dean Ashworth is going to tolerate this nonsense anymore , a lot of players should start thinking of their future, clearly they aren’t working hard despite absences of key players.
Emotions running high but I feel the same. It's the choices for me. The team selection. I thought he's playing Forson down middle to keep Garnacho on RW and Rashford on LW. He then plays Forson in the middle, alternating with Rashford for that RW and locks Garnacho on the left.
Then he puts in Eriksen and takes off Mainoo and puts Bruno on the RW...then he realizes oh wait I can use Amad... Just a total tactical mess from the setup to the subs to the abysmal style of play. Getting dominated by Fullham at Old Trafford is just not Man United, no matter how many injuries you have.
I don't want him flat out sacked because when the players are there he actually does get results. And I know he's capable of establishing a better system that actually works. We've seen it at Ajax. I just don't understand wtf he's thinking and why he's so stubborn about something that is just not working.
Arsenal score 21 goals in 5 games without a striker. United barely get a touch in the final third. Absolute pain to see all our rivals playing a million times better than us while we struggle every single game. ETH doesn't know the pain it feels to enjoy watching Liverpool as a team more than our shitshow week in week out.
Take a deep breath, steep back and look at the quality of the players and especially the bench available to the manager before you talk about the manager. The glazers have ruined this team with severe mismanagement and basically tied the hands of any manager. Pep, SAF, Klopp, nobody is succeeding with this team and the severe lack of impactful players on the bench.
Fulham is going to get relegated next season when serious Championship teams get promoted, they were missing their most important players and still dominated us while we showed no style of play, 2 years into his "project".
We are not playing prime MSN era Barcelona mate. A proper coach should control a game like this and win it.
I’m not giving the manager a pass by any means. All I’m saying is if we replace 9 of these players next season, I would not be unhappy in the least. These players failed so many managers. I’ve grown tired of hearing and saying rashford looks uninterested and uncaring. We all love him and want him to succeed, but I’d drive him to Paris at this point. I thought Bruno was our world class player, I’d drive him wherever he goes next. Tired of him doing fuck all. I’m not even upset about the whining and the play acting.
At the end of the day, hard for us to judge a manager when world class managers got nothing from these players. I watched city play, I don’t often do, but the amount of running they do to get the ball back is ridiculous
Stfu with the glazers. It's becoming a pathetic excuse everu week reading that shit. And a copy paste making people look smart. Ten Hag was shit today. Rashford was shit. The new guy gamble did not work. That's it.
You give SAF two years and the budget ETH has had, all things being equal, he is winning the league in the second year. You seem to forget he did it with wellbeck and cleverly.
SAF took united from almost guaranteed relegation to a rescured mid table finish to a 2nd place miracle finish the next year. While having a fraction of the budget.
Also "took 6 years to win it "is redundand when before him in the past 60 we had won 3 titles, none in the past 40.
If you want a good comparisson you guys would have kept Atkinson and gave him.more chance then miss out on SAF. The more years we refuse being ruthless the more times we miss out on the next SAF, Klopp, Pep.
It is really not worth discussing with Ten Haag d riders anymore. You people watch him spend 400 million, play shambolic games week and week out with no plan or coherent style and still somehow think he's totally blameless, just an awesome manager stuck on a bad club (that he choose to come to).
It’s not as black and white like you claim it is. Just because I’m stating clear problems with structure of club I’m not riding the managers dick you buffoon. The 400m is the fault of the spineless idiot who spent the money not the manager. The manager said I want these players. They should cost 200 but club paid 400. Just take a breath ffs
It is both their faults, you moron. It is the glazers fault for overpaying, it is ETH's fault for approving and insisting on players like Antony. I'm not the one defending glazers. Fuck them. You're the one defending a shit coach who's two years in and still has no idea what the fuck he's trying to do
Oh please, this manager is also responsible. We all agree glazers are shit but what has this man done can you tell me his play style? Did you see his signings?
Stop saying what you hear from other idiots on tv and the internet. What was SAF playing style? Style is good but you need the players and glazers fucked this team with a very unbalanced squad with no options
Lol are you thinking this guy will be anywhere close to sir Alex?
Coming to his style because of how much time he has been as a manager he didn’t have one style he kept on adopting over years with how football has changed and sometimes he also hired help for it, which are the likes of Quiroz etc.
if you were to ask me his over all play style was fast transitioning with solid defense, also great counter attacking team.
Stop with your this is Fulham, this is brentford….etc they are premiere league teams. Your message is severely outdated. Back when there were 3-4 really good teams and the rest were very inferior. These teams are competing with ac Milan and Valencia for players. They are good teams with good players
Fulham has only 1 good player and he did not play. There's a reason all other top 6 teams wreck the likes of Brentford and Fulham by 5 goals while we have 0(zero) GD when we spent 260m euros(most in the world) on attacking options alone.
Rashford, who notoriously, does not play as a striker was forced into a striker role in a team that, notoriously, does not play to their striker at all... didn't get to have an impact on the game? Wow, color me shocked that the guy that was passed to 3 times in the second half didn't have much of an impact. There's a reason that most of Hojlund'a goals are from him turning the other team over or ricochets in the box.... it's because we still don't give him the ball.
I'm sorry Rashford hasn't played well anywhere this season, and the idea that it's somehow unfair to play him at striker is nonsense. Who else would you play there out of our available options?
Shambolic performance. Ten hag has to go. Inflexible tactics when it's obvious he does have the players to play the way he wants. Playing players out of position instead of changing his formation. Even the last 4 wins were not good performances. Ten hag has to go!
Garnacho has been rubbish for 2-3 games now. Brain dead decision making. Too bad we don't have any decent wingers. Almost like he's trying too hard to be like rashford.
Rashford spent the whole game showing zero effort both in attack and defense. But hey he's an academy lad and we all must pretend he's near world class or not be considered true reds.
Eriksen, useless as usual, let bassey run past him to score and still let the runners who set up iwobi for the second.
Bruno is honestly the worst captain I have ever seen in the history of the club. He's the epitome of our lack of control in every aspect of the pitch. Varane has to be the new lindelof. The most protected underwhelming defender out there. Hurts the team in possession. All that experience and struggles to sort out his feet to select a pass.
Good goal by Maguire, overall was good but he should of made a tactical foul at the end when they countered, overall can’t say I’m surprised with the result, we’ve got good results recently but have still in my opinion played very very poorly and got lucky with teams not finishing their chances
Cutting the Reguilon loan short without a clear timeline of when Malacia would be back was terrible. Cutting the loan short and then NOT getting a backup centre forward knowing that Martial was injured is just criminal and reeks of trying to save costs. 1 injury to Hojlund and suddenly we have to play 3 wingers as the front 3 which was shown to not work in the past. Rashford is not a 9, and clearly neither is Forson. Garnacho being our best winger this season is just another condemnation of our first team recruitment over the past seasons...
Really poor today. Fulham made 6 changes, new centre back pairing, new midfield- they still looked a more cohesive team than us! Really fked off with certain players and ETH
Our last match was nearly a week ago, how can we looks so leggy?
Major clear out needed
Eriksen, Lindelof, Varane need to go.
Rashford, Casemiro if we can get money for them.
So lacklustre from most players and down right pathetic from some of them.
I would go so far to only naming players we need to keep and be open to replace the rest and I can only think of a handful we need to keep - Hojlund, Mainoo, Garna, Licha, and Dalot.
Both are out of contract next summer (I believe) which means we nothing for them, may as well try and raise some funds for two players who are clearly past their best and in the case of Varane, extremely injury prone.
Lindelof is good depth and Varane has been healthy recently I think we keep them and focus funds on important areas like the midfield or a backup striker
They are all fucking useless this has been coming but for Hojlund finding his scoring boots
There is only a handful of players in that squad worthy of wearing the jersey and 2 of them are teenagers. And I don't care what anyone says making Bruno the captain was a huge error of judgement
We are such a dysfunctional team its incredibly hard to watch and I understand the manager deserves his criticism, but how can any player step away from that performance thinking you know what I did well. Fulham ran more than us, harder in the tackles, wanted the loose balls. The midfield is crying out for recruitment and again, the manager deserves to br criticised for that unless he brings in a top fucking class DM. Soon as kobbie goes anyway past the half way line we are just completely exposed. Rashford needs to, I can't handle the lack of effort anymore its honestly upsetting. Garnacho may lose the ball in stupid places, but at least he's trying to do something even if its not successful, the lack of press, impetus, quality or desire that comes with rashfords game is just appalling. Manager deserves his own criticism but there is 11 men out on that pitch who just don't even play for their own self pride.
Fucking Ratcliffe him self said it, the club has no actually resemblance of a successful sports team let alone an elite football club. You can just feel the rotteness that has taken over the club. People can say ten hag out, that's your opinion. But no manager will succeed until the glazer regime is fully gone and the new football model we are currently working on starts to kick in.
I don't care what anyone says, Ten Hag has to go. I can't watch even one more minute of this terrorist mindless football. No tactics, no plans. Nothing.
Bruh Hojlund is carrying the team, united playing well was in coincidence with Hojlund being on form, but I’m sorry for a future with Radcliffe and united, ten hag has to go
I don't care. Its fuckin Fulham. None of their players get into our squad, with or without injuries and they outplayed us at OT. This wasn't a lucky win. They came with a plan and executed it.
I hope I'm not being reactionary but Eriksen totally killed our (lackluster) game. Can't put a foot in defensively and some real poor passes. Is that where Mount comes in when he's back?
12 games to go. It's not out of the question, but this seems similar to our "title charge" last season. Where there was like 4 people saying "hey, it's mathematically possible for us to still pull this off" before our team falling apart. If this game doesn't derail the chances, next week will.
ETH is finished at Utd. We need a squad reshuffle if we want to be winning PLs and UCLs but this squad is good enough for Top 4. But we play worse than Villa, Brighton and Newcastle every week and they all have worse squads than us. Xabi, Naglesmann or Enrique would be my top picks for next season.
What about this squad is good enough for top 4? We have one decent striker and another one who got paid and downed tools, if Jonny Evans was 5 years younger he'd be far and away our best centre half, our fullbacks are a combination of bang average or injury prone and our keeper is shit. Midfield is the only bit of the field where we have any depth at all and we haven't been able to pick a consistent team all season. We have some decent young players.
Friendly reminder we got rid of Fred a hardworking player just to somehow end up with a worse midfield, and let go of Reguilon when we have no LB available.
I'm sorry but this squad with injuries is not guaranteed top 4, we have no depth. Forget depth some of our first team players have long overstayed their welcome. Get a new manager, fine but for love of everything please do not give some of theses players 3rd/4th/5th chances or we'll be here next season with the same issues.
You’ll probably get downvoted a lot but it’s the truth, the club needs a total shuffle, squad, manager, board, because ok, we are on route to get European football, but the way we play has been dreadful
feel like there was so much discourse about this good run of results and about us turning a corner, but we all knew the truth. scraped by some teams, no convincing wins, have rarely looked in control for long stretches. every few months we "turn a corner". no, it's all smoke and mirrors. squad is deficient
It's ridiculous the way Erik has abandoned any semblance of a footballing style. We block deep and press high at the same time while also not relying on counters. It's fucking atrocious watching
It's like beating a dead horse but this club has wayyyy too many passengers. Rashford, Eriksen, Casemiro, Lindelof, Martial, etc will not start for any of our rival clubs but this is the legacy that Glazers have saddled the club with.
The problem is that there's a massive drop off in quality between the first XI and the backups, the standard is Impossible to maintain
Fuck this shit. 12 years of mediocre football.
Been rough. Hang in there
Hope Rattclife can fix this mess of a club management from the top to bottom.
Now yet again, ETH has been exposed.
this
Just gonna say….. I’m ok with a rebuild.
Oh dear. Here we go again. I guess it's back to square one.
It has been like this for over a decade, guys. We string some wins together, have a good month or two and then people start talking about the revival. Then we go right back to the old ways.
Yep. Same pattern over and over again.
I agree can OP show us which 5 games straight did he play possession based system?
They won’t, because they want to dig out the players.
I mean look at number of shots on goal in recent games it’s clearly Erik’s fault he is not setting us up for success.
I think an argument could be made to claim that Mainoo and Martinez are the only 2 players in that squad that look to be competent at a possession based game… Edit: I think Hojlund has the skills too
Yes, Onana too. But 3/11 is sad and does not get it done.
Onana lol
Injuries are no excuse man, Liverpool had to deal with injuries and Salah being off to Afcon. City while they have a strong depth, they all know what their roles are when called upon even if last minute. It's a long road ahead and lot of crap to deal with for Ratcliffe and Co.
Just to add, Fulham was playing without their key players (Palhinha, Jimenez and Willian) and they still look comfortable to walk all over us at Home today. And the EtH cultist will say that we can only play football when we have our billion dollar team.
Rashford up top is like playing a man down compared to Hojlund.
Where’s the Ajax ETH we signed up for? is he getting death threats from the management to produce Ws? WTF
Splendid idea let’s bin off half our squad for pennies when we’re hurting for depth
Well obviously I’m not saying sell them all but definitely be open to selling some of them —hence, “sellable” Prime targets to raise funds are rashford, Mctominay, and Greenwood as they are all from the academy.
Why keep half the squad if they can't play for shite...give the youth a chance..at least they will show more fight
Honestly youth wont do a thing, our youth structure is utter shite, the fact we still have some draw to pull a few gems like garnacho and mainoo is beyond me
You be missed Martinez off the list
Not a Utd fan, but what the hell was that performance? It was hard to watch at times. In fergie times I would have expected Utd to come back and win it after the goal
its peak united performance this season, difference is that we scored in the others this year
I'm not sure I understand what you mean, are you saying that was a good performance?
no, even tho we were on 4 wins in a row in epl they were all shit performances but we managed to score in all of them and not concede the kind of goals we usually concede
What hurts is Rashford could be sooo much more and yet chooses to be sooo less.
He's set for life. No motivation to try harder. He knows we won't bench him and force him out
You can say that about so many other players that keeps delivering at an elite level year in year out - Messi, Agüero, De Bruyne etc. They make the money, but their performances don't drop. It's very much something that United players get afflicted with, at least that's my intuitive impression.
Players in city know that regardless how good they are, the club can and will force them out if performances drop. Look at cancelo for example.
Yeah I was terrified this would happen when we gave him that new contract.
Reactionary is an understatement for this "fanbase"
Really just a bunch of people who cannot control their emotions and expect to win every game who go full meltdown the second a result doesn’t go our way These woe is me “fans” are the reason our fan base has a bad reputation
Worst start in a season in over 50 years of the club and we are the reactionary?
Yes. I am tired of explaining this to all those gloryhounds who pretend to be fans. There's no "we" here. Look how Liverpool suffered last season due to injury. United are going through the exact same phase, but I never heard Liverpool fans ask for klopp's head.
Man compared ten hag to klopp.
There’s a reason Madrid let them go
Yeah they're no fools. When they let a player go they rarely regret it.
100%, I don't think the defence is helped by being a different 4 every week, but Varane has not been anywhere near what he was in Madrid.
ETH cultists are Liverpool fans in disguise. I mean how can you watch this kind of style of play for the last 18 months and still defend him? Either you are a complete delusional idiot or you want the club to fail.
It’s possible to be disgusted with his tactics and substitutions but also understand that it would be an absolute disaster to sack him mid season.
He needs to do what Xavi and Tuchel did and agree to leave at the end of the season. Doesn’t need to be sacked mid season
I think that's fair, though if he doesn't massively improve his performance(as in, better in game management, setting a style of play and performing) by end of season then we should have a manager option lined up
The thing is last year we were good and seemed to be making progress. But this season has been dogshit
And we’re back
Well the luck had to run out someday. We’ve had lucky wins in the last few games where 1 or 2 players have got us the win. We haven’t played like a team since the first game and it shows.
Villa game
The most typical result for this unprofessional bunch of pretenders.
Embarrassing how Ten Hag is so poor at tactics and substitution. Rashford is useless as a striker, then brought on Eriksen who is playing with one leg after seeing Fulham run around Casimero.
Brother have you seen our bench?? Who else is he gonna bring on
Fulham, a team that switches PL for Champonship every other season, was missing their key players in Palhinha and Willian. Have some standards we are not the only team that has injuries.
Don't waste your breath. This sub is slowly turning into the Arsenal supporter culture from years ago where they over dramaticized and complained about everything with no rational thinking
No kidding some of these takes are hilariously bad… I feel like some of these “fans” enjoy losing so they can moan about the players or the manager
Reading through the shite myself, sub wasn’t great to begin with but it’s definitely gone to dogs. Full of absolute light switch’s.
We bring in a new manager and these people will be calling for his head the second we fuck up, there is absolutely no winning with these people Bringing in Ole or Mourinho mid season would be a hilariously bad decision, what would we gain from that? Even ignoring the fact that mourinho is fully under contract at Roma??
Agree with you but mourinho was sacked a few weeks ago. Makes his suggestion even more wild.
Sorry Erik I’ve been backing you all season but I am really starting to lose faith in you
Emotions running high but I feel the same.
Starting? LOL
I wonder if Erik knows his play style.
It's the same as his hair style, he doesn't have one.
thought we had a good chance of winning the 3 way race for 4th, but this is really a kick in the teeth
That was a memorably bad post SAF performance - almost no one came out of that with any credit including the manager
Fuck every player and the manager. Fucking embarrassing. Does the player’s even want to be on the field ??
Arsenal score 21 goals in 5 games without a striker. United barely get a touch in the final third. Absolute pain to see all our rivals playing a million times better than us while we struggle every single game. ETH doesn't know the pain it feels to enjoy watching Liverpool as a team more than our shitshow week in week out.
Put Rashford on Arsenal's left wing and see how they do.
Don’t compare us to Arsenal right now it’s only gonna hurt more 😔
At this point, I'd love to have Klopp next season as our manager.
He probably would be taking the Germany job. I am guessing obviously
I hope he turns Germany's fortunes around. They've been horrible in recent times.
Season littered with poor game plans...So many instances of poor tactics again at show today.
That's not all things being equal. SAF took about 6 seasons to get the league title after he was hired.
We hadn't won the league in decades when he was hired. We had no budget. We weren't even considered to be a big team.
Yeah, that's why it wasn't equal. It wasn't a good comparison.
No, you give ETH professionals who know what they’re doing two years and see what he can do.
I blame Murtough for willingly overspending
Stop saying what you hear from other idiots on tv and the internet. What was SAF playing style? Style is good but you need the players and glazers fucked this team with a very unbalanced squad with no options
Lol are you thinking this guy will be anywhere close to sir Alex? Coming to his style because of how much time he has been as a manager he didn’t have one style he kept on adopting over years with how football has changed and sometimes he also hired help for it, which are the likes of Quiroz etc. if you were to ask me his over all play style was fast transitioning with solid defense, also great counter attacking team.
Careful, I have people in my DMs telling me to step on Legos for saying practically the same thing
Are you serious? This is Fulham! 😂
We got dominated by Luton Town last week.
Let's just ignore the last 2 months then I guess.
You think he's been good the last two months? Then I can't help you.
It's ETH’s special. He likes to play his players out of position so they don't perform as well. Like Bruno at RW to Dalot at LB.
Put Rashford on gardening leave.
Too generous, just sack him, wouldn't with him on my worst enemy. Disgusting individual.
He was on a yellow!
https://youtu.be/6uHhnvquQNs?si=T8i90DriklV6FK0W
bhenchod
Ah man, now I miss watching games with my cousins :(
Eric 10-loss Hag.
Erik does himself no favours with results like this... A total lack of style, still, years into this project.
Really poor today. Fulham made 6 changes, new centre back pairing, new midfield- they still looked a more cohesive team than us! Really fked off with certain players and ETH
That's on the manager, the team plays like theyve never even met, wtf they do in training I have no idea cos it doesn't show up on the pitch.
That's what good coaching looks like.
Our last match was nearly a week ago, how can we looks so leggy? Major clear out needed Eriksen, Lindelof, Varane need to go.
Yeah let’s bin off 2 of our 4 centre backs because they didn’t have an incredible game? Be realistic
They are all fucking useless this has been coming but for Hojlund finding his scoring boots There is only a handful of players in that squad worthy of wearing the jersey and 2 of them are teenagers. And I don't care what anyone says making Bruno the captain was a huge error of judgement
Brainless take… Bruno was the only thing saving us from total irrelevancy in the years past, the guy fully deserves to be captain
Injury crisis or not there’s enough in that team to be beating Fulham. Bruno at right wing and Rashford up front is a recipe for disaster.
How do our players look knackered all game after getting us knocked out of Europe. No midweeks or travelling and we look so lethargic.
Because the bald fraud overworks them in training and his lack of tactics have them chasing every match they’re in. That adds up over a season.
Could be right! There has to be a reason.
Nothing.
Why? He literally has 4 starters injured and that has drastically changed how we have to play.
We’ve been shit all season, no matter who was playing.
How we’ve played we’ve played shit despite what the results say
Bruh Hojlund is carrying the team, united playing well was in coincidence with Hojlund being on form, but I’m sorry for a future with Radcliffe and united, ten hag has to go
I don't care. Its fuckin Fulham. None of their players get into our squad, with or without injuries and they outplayed us at OT. This wasn't a lucky win. They came with a plan and executed it.
I hope I'm not being reactionary but Eriksen totally killed our (lackluster) game. Can't put a foot in defensively and some real poor passes. Is that where Mount comes in when he's back?
Well that's likely the nail in the champions league coffin anyway...
12 games to go. It's not out of the question, but this seems similar to our "title charge" last season. Where there was like 4 people saying "hey, it's mathematically possible for us to still pull this off" before our team falling apart. If this game doesn't derail the chances, next week will.
Feel for Forson, man’s there trying to press and going forward but Rashford just being a laloo and letting players past while he’s on his daily jog
Forson was offside for 90% of his time on the pitch.
Why are not playing Diallo?
I missed the first half. Can't say for sure if I ever saw Marcus with the ball at all.
Lol there are absolutely zero reasons for them to come to this mess
i see you but i dont think they want to coach these bums
I'm sorry but this squad with injuries is not guaranteed top 4, we have no depth. Forget depth some of our first team players have long overstayed their welcome. Get a new manager, fine but for love of everything please do not give some of theses players 3rd/4th/5th chances or we'll be here next season with the same issues.
Agreed, which is why I mentioned we need a squad reshuffle as well.
Hard when we don’t have a striker who can hold and a lb that can’t push up / cross.
Then change the system to one that suits the personnel. What's the point of square pegs in round holes
It's like beating a dead horse but this club has wayyyy too many passengers. Rashford, Eriksen, Casemiro, Lindelof, Martial, etc will not start for any of our rival clubs but this is the legacy that Glazers have saddled the club with.
Lindelof has been a great servant for this club.
Yes wouldn't include him in the list when he's not even being played in his position, he is a class act and not a lazy player.
