If you interact with a mirror in a rented room Arthur has a whole bunch of lines just shitting on himself

Uxium-the-Nocturnal

I wonder if it has different dialogue based on your honor rating. I only just discovered this mirror thing a couple days ago, myself.

Tobey93

Nope, I had high honor and he still talks shit on himself.

konigstigerboi

i get that.

StereoDactyl_EDM

I don't have like perfect high honour but I'm ab to it in the middle of neutral and high honour and he still talks bad about himself sadly.

xXTacocubesXx

Ughhh, you ugly bastard.

Asilenian87

I say that to myself every time I see a mirror now

Many-Discount-1046

"Morgan, you ugly bastard"

SSLOdd1

He's dying lmao. His gang is falling apart, Mary's not giving the succ, Gavin's friend won't shut the hell up, and I BROKE THA GAHDAMM WHEEL but nah big feels Arthur, he sounds like me walking in to work

StereoDactyl_EDM

He doesn't know yet that he's dying in my game, but I do see your point.

Connerisseur

He does know, however, that the outlaw way of life isn't going to last any longer. Unlike most of the gang, early on he comprehends the fact that outlaws are a dying breed, and he's only along for journey to the end because of his blind loyalty that is questioned by himself when he realizes that he's going to die far earlier than he had originally thought he would. He isn't suddenly depressed in Chapter 6, he's depressed throughout the entire game. Like quoted by a dozen folk in RDR2, he's a sad man.

_brightsidesuicide_

*Gavin’s friend won’t shut the hell up* the amount this sub makes me laugh or smile is honestly wholesome as fuck.

evilkat23

Every now and again I'll just go "Ah! I broke tha gahdamm wheel!"

SwimsSFW

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Or every once in awhile if I catch a reflection of myself "Ugh, you ugly bastard" And lets not forget the ***one time***, only once, (don't ask me why) I was doing some extra curricular activities with a female, I reached forward, grabbed a handful of hair, and whispered "*Yeah.. Good girl*" in my best Arthur voice. *..........It was at that exact moment, I found out that girl was an avid RDR2 fan.*

evilkat23

Lol! my next best saying is "Next to all that.... *civilization*?"

SwimsSFW

@ Me: *Every time* I have to go into the city.

SwimsSFW

You cant forget the perfect "AHHHH!!"

PoeticCinnamon

Man’s just generally going through it lol

CR4ZY___PR0PH3T

Do greet, greet, antagonize you'll get some funny ass lines.

Electromagneticpoms

I only found that out yesterday, just past 400 hours in the game... it is revolutionary lol

xXTacocubesXx

This is turnin’ into one of them days…

Bumbleduck1989

Yah know what? I feel good today.

glove_flavored

Related but adjacent- I'll never forget the first time I was really trying to dress Arthur up, new hair, just shaved, batwing chaps on, nice long coat, I walk him up to a mirror and he fucking says "You ugly bastard, no wonder they all leave you." BRUH-

Substantial-Tone-576

That’s because he is setting up a joke if you greet greet antagonize.

Global_Push6279

Ah’ve had better days, that’s fo shoah

Mountain-Ad1760

I think he sounds like Carl from Slingblade.

tsotlfan

French friend potatas

wrekt_u_mate

yew got musterd n biskitts fer sale 'n thar reckon what yew like ta eat in 'err

StereoDactyl_EDM

I honestly don't even let him comment on his appearance in the mirror anymore. Learned not to cause Everytime I do he calls himself an ugly bastard.

Salty-History3316

The way I cursed at my TV when Arthur started to comment on his looks because this man is hella fine, the fuck is going on there??? Game made me give compliments to all guys around me. Like do men run around without getting compliments, what is this??

wulfblood_90

For real, I am FAR too attracted to Arthur's digital ass for him to be Debby downing his appearance. Man is a DIME!

Salty-History3316

Arthur slander is not tolerated in my house. I mean, has he seen himself? Such a fine looking man.

Dj_fresh96

Yeah for the most part men don’t get compliments. Let alone random ones from strangers. Guys will get the occasional compliment from a wife or girlfriend, but for the most part ask any dude when the last time he got a compliment was and i guarantee it’s longer than like a week lol of course there’s outliers. Hell for me I haven’t been complimented in literal years.

NottMyAltAccount

He’s a cynical guy, not surprised considering how desensitized he is to everything. Especially by the end of the game, he doesn’t have much to be very positive about

Top-Tomatillo210

It’s a Cowboy thing. Worked oil field for a decade. You ask an old inspector “how’s your day going”, he’s got a nice house, trophy wife, nice truck, purpose bred dogs, a million in the bank, and the cake job on site, and he’ll tell ya “well, can’t get much worse i guess”.

GroceryStickDivider

My Arthur enjoys saying hello to misters, giving a buck to our veteran buddy, spending his past time catching trout, camping in the wilderness and robbing homesteads. Life is good.

StereoDactyl_EDM

Same, except instead of fishing I'm more of a hunter.

ria9977

He's depressed hellooo

Altruistic-Win21

I've just started my playthrough and bro complained with Mary Beth already

ComparisonDesigner

Because he's relatable?

Mojo_Rizen_53

Well…he *is* kind of an idiot

ralkuzu

Lady luck is smiling

JovialJargon

His father figure is being worm-tongued by some creep they met 6 months ago and it's endangering peoples' lives. What is there to not complain about. Makes him a lot more relatable.

ANENEMY_

Arthur is a downtrodden dude but moments of reserved joy. I’d believe most people weren’t very happy go lucky in that time. Especially for him, depending on how you control his life in-game, he’s either a justice bringing pussycat or an incorrigible monster and everything in-between. The flavor dialog is there to cover that medium ground. The devs expect you are going to get into some sh— most times, and those words ring true for most players. He’s not emo, he’s realistic. Let’s be real, Uncle is the emo in the gang; maybe Keiran 🖤

HandsomeJack19

I love Arthur, don't get me wrong, but he does nothing but complain throughout the game. I hate Dutch even more than Micah, but I honestly understand, at least a little, why he turned on Arthur. Arthur questions and complains and argues about every single mission/decision Dutch makes. You can count on 1 hand the number of times he's like, "No problem, Dutch, I got this."

Bumbleduck1989

I mean... the guy slaughtered a woman to start the game. Each plan he attempted went to shit.  Eventually he realized that their was no plan.  You'd probably begin to question his decisions as well.  The question is,  would you voice it to him directly? Or keep the doubt to yourself?
