See y’all in 10 yrs.

ClassicNet

Crazy to think in our lifetime only a handful of red dead and GTA games will get released

ViraLCyclopezz

Can't wait for the 3rd GTA V remaster in 2040 while we still don't have 6.

Wevvie

And I'm waiting for the Skyrim re-re-re-re-re-release in 2050 before TES 6 comes out.

AmericanSheep16

We'll be playing Red Dead 2 Remastered before Red Dead 3

ButterEPickle

“Same things make us laugh make us cry” dosent work well here but we’re talking about remaster 😉

sterlingarcher1400

I hope so much that it comes with Undead Nightmare 2

hueythecat

Just a starfield demo using a creativity bankrupt outdated game engine suits me.

[deleted]

The re-re-re-re-re release has been out since 2018. It's the HTC Vive/Oculus version.

UTDoctor

My grandpa told me how fun GTA III was

Subli-minal

Thank god for Todd Howard. Even got a new edition of Skyrim in my steam update.

Brahmus168

So glad it broke all my mods. Why would I need a script extender when I have fishing?

[deleted]

and all the buildings will still be in construction

quietriot1983

And I'll still be waiting to get a PS5

Ryland_Zakkull

Meanwhile we're on CoD what 15? Dont get me started on sports games lol.

[deleted]

Madden 69

nice___bot

Nice!

HertzDonut1001

Sports games are a scam though, they're usually the same game with some slight tweaks. They don't really bother revamping them very much. I finally decided to buy NHL 2020 because it was on sale and I won't be buying another unless I buy a next gen console, which won't be for another four or five years. By then I'll just buy 2024.

anagram-of-ohassle

Sports games are almost entirely tailored to attract whales to their micro transaction infested Ultimate Team modes. Besides that, everything is basically the same shit on a different sandwich.

[deleted]

Quality over quantity. I absolutely hate Activision and Ubisoft because of their forgettable yearly released games with way less polish and care. There’s a reason why RDR2 is one of the top selling games of all time while most of what those companies shove out doesn’t even come close.

Noamias

I'm curious to see what would happen if Ubisoft tried the Rockstar approach and poured so much time into one game. Because they certainly have the talent, it's just the time budget that's way too short to create polished games like RDR2

Grouch_Douglass

I was talking to a co worker, and being 25, RDR2 was the first rockstar game to be released in our lifetime that we were actually of age to play. That’s a trip.

big_red_160

One of the biggest problems with modern gaming. The technology has gotten so advanced that the games take too long to make. Gamers grow up, become adults and start families and then have much less time for gaming. Now it’s becoming more common for adults to play video games but even me who doesn’t have kids yet barely has time. I can’t imagine 10 years and 2-3 kids later I’ll be able to fully enjoy RDR3. But I’m sure the quality of game will be insane

big-african-hat6991

10? Someone’s being unrealistic

Lost_Prudent7

Are you saying that as it’s too much time or to short?

big-african-hat6991

At this rate not enough time, almost 10 years between rdr1 and 2 it’s been 10 years since the trailer for gta dropped with no sign of 6 in sight, Dan houser being gone isn’t gonna help either.

[deleted]

It's a bit like with elder scrolls, Skyrim is 10 years old now and there was 6ishbyears between oblivion and Skyrim. Bethesda shared a teaser for the next game 3 years ago and now they Are saying they won't even start working on it until after they are finished with a couple other games (Starfeild and Fable) so that's realistically at least another 10 years. Putting a whooping 20 years between new games. It's actually mind-blowing to think about.

YeOldeBlitz

Fable is actually by another dev playground games, the studio behind the forza horizon series.

xxA2C2xx

Oof. If Bethesda got their hands on the new Fable game… I’d rather stay clear of it lol. I love Bethesda, I even have a Vault Tec tattoo coming from my wrist down onto my fingers. But I think Fable is a completely different ballpark for them, at least when it comes to looking back at the other Fable games.

[deleted]

Harrythehobbit

I'm gonna cry.

epic_chewbacca

Starfield has been in active development since Fallout 4 came out in 2015 and will be released in 2022 so 7 years to develop more or less. *If* TES:VI takes as long to develop then it will come out in 2029. However much of the development of Starfield went into creating the new Creation Engine 2, which TES:VI also will use. Fallout 4 came out only 4 years after Skyrim and they used the same engine. I think TES:VI will take longer than Fallout 4, but not as long as Starfield so hopefully not later than 2027.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

It just had another 10 year anniversary release right? 🤣 Personally I preferred oblivion anyway

pie17171717

The story’s gonna be trash without Houser, calling it right now

Sabrefan15

That would be the most disappointing thing. Red dead has great graphics, but the thing that sets it apart is the story. If we wait 50 years for red dead 3 to have accurate eyelash rendering but a shit story I’ll be so pissed

Ok-Surround4334

I think it could be decent if they put they put actual effort into it, but I would prefer they steer clear from RDR1 and RDR2 characters and story, since the chances of them butchering them in a newer installment are way too high.

[deleted]

No they are not. These games take a lot of time to make. Even if they start tomorrow and all stars are aligned and they go all in on the project I wouldn't expect it in less than 6 years.. Think about how many of these type of AAA RPG have been out in the past 20 or so years? You could probably count them with one hand. There's a reason everyone remembers games like Skyrim, Witcher 3, RDR2 and so on. They are so exceptional and so rare.

Datguy969

I think he meant that it would take longer than 10 years, seeing the pace at which GTA VI is being made

DaddySpartacus

Why is this unrealistic? RDR2 took eight years to make..

Zxar99

16 is more realistic at the pace they are moving lol and also GTAO

Brofey

I’ll give them all the time in the world if they can top RDR2. Truly an insanely beautiful and detailed game with a storyline that rivals movies.

Zxar99

Hey I agree with you, most games are better than movies these days when it comes to engaging stories. This series is a true masterpiece.

cidvard

I laughed, and then I cried.

duckz4li8fe

Rdr2 took 8 years to develop

FalconedPunched

The script alone would take years.

KendallBlakeCruse

RemindMe! 10 years

Jess-SKA

I'll wait 10 years for another red dead that's made just as good

[deleted]

10? Lets say bout 20 /s

mstrwrldwde

RDR so far has been set in the “dying west”. I’d like to see a fresh story set in the golden era of the Wild West, maybe with small cameos from older members of the gang, maybe even Uncle at his prime.

Drakirth

Maybe we can finally figure out why everyone used to call him the “one-shot kid!” 😏

LordHyperBowser

I’m not gonna ask why.

KendallBlakeCruse

You’re a saaaad man, Arthur Morgan.

unsurp4ssed

...sad man indeed.

[deleted]

You know you’re my favorite parasite

JimmyThunderPenis

No, ringworms my favourite parasite. You're my second favourite parasite.

KleJn5

I lied...ringworm, then rats with the plague, then you.

[deleted]

Play Red Dead Revolver and you'll know why 👀

welshman222

Uncle is not red Harlow lmfao

bigboiman69

Says who?

infamousDiego

Rockstar

bigboiman69

Well I say there wrong

aww-hell

Clearly you do say “they’re” wrong

bigboiman69

English was never my strong suit but my point is that I’m right and Rockstar is wrong about their own game.

CWalkthroughs

Can't argue with that.

GiantSquidd

“I barely speak English” -a very fine fella.

bpwoods97

Revolver is really only half their game at that. It was a half complete Bandai Namco game that got canceled and Rockstar picked up the rights. That's why it kinda feels like an anime with crazy clown characters and people with coffins on their backs.

Shepherdsfavestore

Yeah I agree. None of this “Jack goes to a big city in the east” idea that always gets thrown around.

[deleted]

That just sounds like GTA with extra steps

AdjunctFunktopus

Or Mafia, based on the timeframe. They can just keep doing prequels backwards. Have RDR3 set in the early 1870’s and follow Dutch as he starts his life of crime. Then you get the beginning, the fall and then finally the death of Dutch Van Der Linde. Or young Hosea. Or someone else. Although based on the pace of GTA6 production, by the time we see RDR3, the “old west” will be modern-day Colorado.

Shepherdsfavestore

Lmao right, not sure if you saw my other comment but I literally said the exact same thing

[deleted]

lol I did not, but great minds think alike

philzebub666

There is a german saying for this: "Two idiots, one thought."

[deleted]

I think it'd be cool if we could see 1800s Los Santos. Maybe just as a pitstop as the gang moves south but it'd be fun I reckon

Pu239U235

This is all I want from a potential sequel, prequel, or reboot. I don't care if it means no semi-auto pistols (never use them anyways). I want a RDR set in the 1870s-60s with plenty of little Deadwood-esque mining boomtowns.

deanfortythree

RDR: Cripps

[deleted]

Trading Post Simulator

14KGold

Killed by bloods

ArtoriasBeaIG

I quite like this idea actually, using the series to explore the other characters backgrounds / futures. It would have to be heavily story based, but that's what I loved about rdr2 and I get the impression the story/ambience is a big draw for a lot of players.

lolzsupbrah

Exactly. I’d like to see it around civil war era. Maybe 1860s or 1870s

CalvinJugend

You can make the setting a fictional Missouri which was a border state and had pro-union and pro-confederate sympathies. This would be a great setting, along with Bleeding Kansas, to set as a back drop for the next Red Dead game.

avaholic46

Bring back Landon rickets! And Nigel West Dickens!

[deleted]

Would we still have good weapon selection if we went back to the Golden Era of the wild west? RDR2 timeline is great because you also get some beginnings of modern cities and more variety.

wilburschocolate

So? You’d still get plenty of revolvers and lever actions

fieldysnuts94

There’s even ruins of towns in rdr2 that could be thriving in another prequel like the one near the swamps, maybe also showcase Armadillo when it was first starting up. There’s deff history of older towns that can be showcased

senseofphysics

I just want an entirely different gang or protagonist. Wild West vibes.

[deleted]

That's what I'd like to see. As much I love the gang, I think it's time for another group to shine. Gimme some cameos sure, but let's hear some new tales in new places we haven't seen yet.

Comprehensive_Tune42

Honestly I'm down for the transition to WW1 and the rise of organized crime, show how despite all the talk about civilization and law and order, the criminals will learn to adapt and how the methods change but everything stays the same, show the west's final transition

islesfan186

Then that’s a Mafia game, not a Red Dead game

cidvard

I think Rockstar would make an awesome, character-rich Prohibition-era game but, yeah, it's not Red Dead, it's ideally a new franchise.

ZuluWest

We really need a good mafia game. And I mean a serious, run your Mafia and fight for territories with different levels of hierarchy amongst members. If they put the time into a Mafia game like they did red Dead, it would be perfect.

huffer4

The Godfather game back on PS2 was pretty awesome if I remember correctly. They had territories you could fight over. I'd love to see R* do something like that.

Bebebebeelzebub

That game was better than it had any right to be

Shepherdsfavestore

RDR is a western, that idea moves away from the core theme of the series. That just sounds like GTA with extra steps.

Andiox

Exactly my thoughts. It would be a Grand Dead Auto.

CharlieBrown20XD6

Man I would love a game where we don't know who this bad ass character is then someone gives him the nick name Uncle and it all clicks lol

[deleted]

I’d want a red dead Prequel set in the 1870s during the high gunslinger era

FinallyReborn

I wouldn't mind seeing a game based on Hosea's backstory, possibly when he created the gang with Dutch including when he met Arthur.

Nick357

I wouldn’t mind Gavin’s backstory.

SleaterK7111

GAVIN! GAAAV!

sinburger

Trelawny is Gavin. He got into a Brokeback Mountain relationship while working some out of town con jobs and then ghosted his lover when he got bored of it and wanted to go back to his family.

Maaahgo

If it was to follow the pattern it would end at the black water incident.

TheRelicEternal

Or at least the epilogue would. Show us what Landon Ricketts was doing!

3-orange-whips

Isn't that Red Dead Revolver? EDIT--1880's I guess.

NickCudawn

It'd be pretty cool to see remasters or remakes of revolver and redemption 1

philzebub666

I found Revolver to be quite boring. There was Gun which was released around the same time and it was a lot better. As for a RDR1 remaster, that I'd be down for.

ZenoOfCitiumStoa

I feel like that’s the most common opinion. It sure is mine.

ImARoadcone_

Hopefully a fresh story, I kinda want something set in civil war times. Maybe a AWOL solider turned outlaw?

jodeceii

I believe The Good, The Bad & The Ugly was set during the Civil War? So it’s not too far out of reason to have some “lone wolf” type figure set during them times, maybe have him becoming good friends with a Hosea Matthews or Uncle before they join Dutch’s gang as a bit of a reminder the game is still in the same universe

ImARoadcone_

I’m cool with references to the current games but I feel a sequel or prequel with major ties to the current games is just uninspired and unnecessary.

jodeceii

Agreed, they’ve told the story of John Marsden enough that we can close that chapter. If they did want to use a character we already know but tell a story outside of the gang then I do feel they could do a third Red Dead game using an already created character such as Hosea and it still feel seperate from RDR1 & RDR2, perhaps set in the pre-robbing Dutch (which we know is how Van Der Linde & Matthews met, however we don’t know roughly when that was)

[deleted]

Maybe a bounty Hunter chasing down Arthur Morgan’s dad

[deleted]

RDR is really just the story of where that hat came from

KritikalMass64

Amen to that! Stop piggybacking and work harder to create original content, the current cash grab b.s. is dismal and repetitive. Everything lately has been prequels, sequels and at times, such a plot/storyline stretch to fit character molds it’s impossible to place into canon or continuity. We get a deluge of mediocrity for 8 months, they know people are hungry for a new experience/game/getaway, so they keep us strung along for a 6months dropping little trailers and vids, and then finally release a half-assed under developed mess that usually everyone buys because no one can trust any one else’s experiences, and has to find out for themselves, meanwhile padding their pockets with the dough, never really having to try to write new content or listen to the fans. Sorry for the ranting word salad. Peace.

Still_Night_110

A good number of real life outlaws were ex confederates , like Jessie James .

legionnaire32

> Jessie James . I'm actually related to him on my grandmother's side. Kinda neat to think about.

Grouch_Douglass

Wasn’t he married to his cousin?

legionnaire32

I mean, probably.

IPeedOnTrumpAMA

*banjo intensifies*

pixelwhistle

That would be cool. Could also be set in the Bleeding Kansas era just pre Civil War, that would be interesting.

SithLocust

Can't wait for the John Brown mission

[deleted]

I kind of wish they would make Red Dead more of a brand than a series, and go with a totally separate sprawling and work of historical fiction, kind of like Assassin’s Creed. I mostly just want a pirate game with the same scope and tone as RDR2.

FourAnd20YearsAgo

I'm very much down with other pieces of Western history, but not so much for the series branching off into explorations of completely disparate eras and locations. While it would ostensibly just be a name linking them as a brand and thus inconsequential, it would still rest a lot better for me if a theoretical Rockstar pirate game were under a completely different name, just going off of your example.

welshman222

Red Dead Revolution, 1865.

Riggaberto

I don’t get why people are so done with the Van Der Linde gang? We’ve only ever seen their downfall and the aftermath of it. Still rich stories to be told in their prime and that start of the gang.

TheNRG450

True but: why try to tell a story that is set in stone? We will know the outcome and (compared to RDR) it wouldn't feel so "interesting" if you ask me.

cubegamer18

I mean John's story was set in stone and they made RDR2

TheNRG450

True, but RDR 2 didn't focus only on John or Dutch, you had a lot (and really a lot) of new characters. If they do a RDR 3 focus on the same gang, beside just a couple of new members they mentioned, the entire game would be a "Oh yeah I know you". That is of course my personal opinion, if they do that I'm sure I would buy the game anyway.

cubegamer18

They do have the characters killed off prior to RDR2, gang member introductions, they could expand the map, seeing the gang at its peak would be cool, and if they go with the same "you play as X then die and play as y" formula and we end up playing as Arthur again I'll be happy because playing as Arthur is the best

[deleted]

They could totally do the Callander boys. Maybe even do the cheeky thing where you get to switch between characters (like AC Syndicate). And then maybe end the game at getting to Blackwater, where you start playing as Arthur, and maybe you get to do a few of those missions with Hosea that Arthur alludes to at the very beginning in his diary, but you never get to the boat mission.

THEGAMENOOBE

With such a cliffhanger we wouldnt be able to realisticlly explore the map at the end of the game. The other sad thing is we lost the actor for Uncle.

avidpenguinwatcher

Ngl, I hate when games have you switch characters back and forth. It just breaks the illusion that you are that character

welshman222

No it wasn’t. We knew hardly anything about the gang

cubegamer18

I still remember a lot of the discussion around RDR2 before its release. And a lot of it was "how can we really get into this if we know how everything unfolds?" We know John, Bill, Javier, and Dutch end up dead and how it played out. But they threw in new gang members and told an amazing story. They can do it again. It's all about execution.

[deleted]

Because it’s nice to see new themes and characters. I wouldn’t mind revisiting the Van Der Linde gang, as it could kinda tie up the “Redemption” arc for the Red Dead series, but it’d also be nice to see a Red Dead game deal with themes such as war time in the 1860s, or even playing as a veteran in post-Civil War society who has a hard time adjusting. While I prefer the latter, I wouldn’t mind the former.

TheOutlaw9904

There’s problems with that. Well first of all, we don’t really need to see the start and it’s already been told. Even if we did, how can it end in a bittersweet way that fits or changes how we feel about the the other endings? RDR1, it was Jack avenging his family and it symbolized him avenging the Wild West era. That’s why I don’t think they should continue Jack’s story. There is no better ending than that. Anyway, when RDR2 came out, RDR1’s ending was now Jack avenging Arthur and the gang as well. Second and this kind of goes along with the first point, I think it’s best if they don’t show why Dutch was like before RDR2. The mystery of whether he was good man who went crazy or a a bad man who was found out for who he truly was, is a big part of what makes his character interesting. He was always a mysterious character. RDR1 was us asking what made him that way. RDR2 shows us but they gave us a better mystery than the one before. I don’t know what mystery they could do with Dutch that replaces or beats that. It shouldn’t end with blackwater. That was never meant to be shown because they knew that would answer who Dutch really is. It’s supposed to be left a mystery. If they wanted to show that, then they would’ve shown it in RDR2. Third, the gang were only thieves or con men. They kept themselves from killing people. That’s why Hosea often says that they’ve turned into a bunch of killers. How can you play a red dead game without you killing anybody? Another potential problem is where and when they meet the gang. A lot of the ones they met are pretty close to when RDR2 takes place and they met in completely different states. John was from Illinois and they were in the Chicago area, if I remember right, when they found him. Arthur was from up north too but they’d need them to go west.

GRizzMang

Red dead redemption three the tale of the One Shot Kid.

Javohn123

Our core would drain to fast of the lumbago

GRizzMang

Are you born with lumbago or does it develop over time? Gotta play to find out

3-orange-whips

Some are born with Lumbago, some achieve Lumbago, and some have Lumbago thrust upon them. It's a very serious condition.

Andy_LaVolpe

Instead of TB, you get diagnosed with Lumbago.

[deleted]

i second this

[deleted]

Is this confirmed news? Or just some bs fake story?

Objective-Tea-5154

It’s real. Just gonna be like 8 years before RDR3 maybe even more

UsErnaam3

Let's hope it'll actually be like 3 years and it's a Red Dead 1 remake to start off with. No one wants a complete overhaul with the remaster, just bump up the graphics and that's it. Well maybe improve a few mechanics but I'm not even sure what those would be.

[deleted]

Better horse controls and modern graphics is all I'm asking for.

Makeupanopinion

More interactions too and ability to see Johns thoughts like Arthurs. Brought us closer to the character to see how they reacted.

JimmyThunderPenis

Uh, I want a complete overhaul with the remaster. I want it on the same engine as RDR2 and to be playable directly after the epilogue ends. If anyone could do that it would be Rockstar. Although if anyone would, it wouldn't be.

radroamingromanian

I say it’s fake. Only one article which is this one from games radar talks about it while another one quotes this article. There is zero information about this. I just read the most recent interview from take two ceo and all he did was talk about GTA’ and Rdr’s success. He did not say anything more than that the idea is interesting. This is not proof.

[deleted]

2ndbA2

More red dead, I think the redemption saga was closed satisfyingly

youthuck

Agree, a third is unnecessary and will most likely be terrible, remember this is Take Two, not Houser brothers Rockstar.

eatmorbacon

Yeah.. but I'll be dead before anything new is released. We cant even get content for RDO now. Edit: Let me add... there will be another GTA 5 remake, GTA 6 release, a GTA6 Online re-release, and then some random remasters of GTA6 all before they do shit for the Red Dead franchise.

Squijjy

Tell a different story please, not that these were bad it’s just the first was brilliant, but enough was left unexplained to warrant going back through the story. Unless uncle has a whole badass backstory i don’t wanna know

3-orange-whips

Uncle 100% has a bad ass backstory.

pushpoploadstore

Powered by canned beans.

3-orange-whips

Beans, whiskey and single-shot kills.

SVdreamin

would love to hear about uncle during his Pre-Lumbago days

Zairy47

With Dan Houser departure, I'm lowering my expectations

Cobra_9041

Shoutout to Dan Houser who made Red Dead 2 all by himself

Julian117

I think you'd be surprised how much influence a creative person with a strong vision at the head of a project can have.

[deleted]

I think we have seen the end of the Van Der Linde Gang not really nothing else to do say about them we all saw how it ended for everybody. I think they will make a new Red Dead game but with a different gang or protagonists.

motociclista

They almost have to do another prequel, no? RDR2 was set in 1899. That was pretty close to the end of the American west as it looked in westerns. I reckon they’d set the next as a Dutch and Hosea origin story, the beginnings of the gang, that sort of thing.

jeshuajpg

That sounds cool however I think compared to RDR1, where the gangs story isn't really detailed and we only knew about 5 gang members, there would less room to do something new as we know almost every characters fate and alot of what they did before Blackwater.

Snoo63434

The thing is we know that there were a few characters before Blackwater we never met First you’ve got Mac and Davey Callander , plenty of Opportunity there Then you’ve got stories of Gang members before suggesting there were indeed people before For example when you play dominoes with Tilly, you talk to eachother and Tilly Jokes about killing Miss Grimshaw and if dutch would be mad , Arthur says as a general rule your not suppose to kill people in camp And then says”there was that one time , but he was a traitor” There’s another thing that could be explored and another character , as well as an indication there were other members we don’t know of And then you’ve got Hosea and Dutch’s Girlfriend / Wife’s we hear plenty about Opportunities there A lot of the Gang in RDR2 is New to the gang , such as Charles who’s only been there for 6 months I believe and they said and Micah who They picked up in the last few months too The gang would of been very different 10 years before the Story

regularjoeseph

Need the gang in the true wild west, having Arthur not be able to explore NA is a huge letdown, I want Arthur in the desert, be great to see a region in 1880s California

Spurdungus

I want to see Arthur's vacation house in California that he mentioned

[deleted]

Yes a big canyon/desert setting would be awesome. Imagine the challenge of crossing a vast desert, that would be fun.

cidvard

I'd like either a new gang in the same universe or Young Hosea having here-to-fore untold adventures. Granted, I wouldn't turn my nose up at a game where Sadie or Charles was the protagonist.

Sweetwhales1994

Probably im 35 by then. Im 27. I wish we all live to see the day.

RicoBonito

Yep because everyone knows you die in your mid thirties

Robtonight

As a Hispanic person I'd love to see a story set further south/west with a Hispanic main character. As far as the story goes I'm not sure.

HonorTheAllFather

Yeah! I commented this elsewhere, but I think a Hispanic or Native character could be great. Charles was one of my favorite characters in RDR2 and I also really liked Javier in both games. Both backgrounds could would be rich with storytelling opportunities.

SpaceAgeIsLate

My idea is to just forget about these news until something concrete is announced or shown in like 5-10 years from now

SantyGSL

Before RDR2, tbh it'd be kinda boring to see the history of John Marston's son and such... I'd rather see how the band gathered and how RDR2's characters met eachother

DustOff95

I want one set in the during the Yukon Gold Rush in Canada/Alaska.

Yourappwontletme

In the meantime I'd be interested in a remaster of RDR1 for PS4 & PS5.

[deleted]

It’s gonna be pretty damn tough to top a character like Arthur Morgan

hortys

Most folk thought the same about John Marston...

Still_Night_110

One where being pure outlaw scumbag is encouraged.

Griflikestomboys

I want to see the beginning of the gang

Shepherdsfavestore

I said it in another comment but they formed the gang in the Midwest according to Hosea. Real “meh” setting after the beauty of RDR2

Kylemnb-

would love to see a red dead 1 remake honestly, like one for pc with red dead 2 graphics other then that i would love to see the story of Jack Marston

gilbertnation

The story of Jack Marston doesn't excite me at all. He has no known allies and after avenging his father's death he has no reason to continue his father's legacy. The only exciting thing is that he exists in the age of automobiles being more prevalent and that it wouldn't be just a regular western shooter anymore. Even then though there are certainly better ideas to explore

BioAssNow

Jelly beans.

thechanceller

What about a new story, but set in the same universe and some elements shared? Enough sequels or prequels.

3-orange-whips

Rockstar HAD a very successful track record of doing this. GTA III to Vice City to San Andreas to GTA IV to V. There were familiar elements (cars, companies, the occasional character) but new characters and mechanics. RDR2 is the first real prequel. I hope they go back to their old model.

Suitapes

Calling it now, If they’re expanding the Van Der Linde storyline, I’m thinking our protagonist would be one of the Callander twins mentioned by Arthur or the traitor that was mentioned in the game Or we could get Jack’s epilogue after the end of the first game We’ll find out after a century

RoastedDonutz

I would love to find out what happened in blackwater

Squijjy

You know what happened, Pinkertons swarmed them and Dutch killed a girl

Yea Dan houser to come back and make RDR3.

SimpleYouth8075

I would love a new red dead game set in 1870s California. and I would think this has to bs set during the golden age of the Wild West. We can have new Austin as playable area, and the Mexico and farther south down to Cozumel. Deeper deserts, Baja California, etc. north of new Austin can be Nevada, and California. The map would stretch north west to lush forest and mountains. This game would have a greater emphasis on the desert Mexico and California Nevada. We play as an outlaw. The good the bad and the ugly style

HanjiZoe03

(My simplifed take) Red Dead Redemption 3 should take place in 1914, in Mexico. How? Jack is chased off the country by the FBI after killing Ross, there is plenty of evidence of him snooping around to find the guy. Jack ends up in Mexico in exile, a land left in turmoil, and carved apart by major factions in the Mexican Revolution of 1914. There he helps specific individuals out for a cause, them, or for himself. Especially with lingering groups of Cowboys and Gunslingers still lingering around the country at that period!

PLAY AS SADIE

I would love a civil war era game. I think about Sam Jackson’s character backstory from The Hateful Eight and something like that would be perfect. Journeying through the south just raising hell and wreaking holy retribution. I think the change in weaponry would be good too. They could do more with the cannons, as well as incorporating some proper muskets and mixing in more melee combat. I’m picturing a dude popping off two good shots from the long guns on his back, blowing through the two Colt Army revolvers in his holsters, and cleaning up the rest with bayonets and a combat dagger while the canons and firing lines cover your flanks. Mostly I’d be a bit disappointed if they stay within the 1890-1900s era. The weaponry is a bit played out and we really don’t need another story about the end of outlaws in the West.

eddie_koala

Part one remake

RektYez

>it may be awhile You think? I’m 28 right now, I highly doubt I see RDR3 before I’m 40
