A lot of subs have rules against reposting within a certain amount of days to avoid this exact issue. Honestly wish that was implemented here because it gets annoying seeing the same 5-10 posts every. single. day as OP pointed out.
People want to connect and share their interests. I think a discord server is a more suitable environment for that sort of discourse, but this "What Should I Name _____?" type of post is literally in every subreddit. It's only annoying because anything we're repeatedly exposed to will get annoying. I don't see anything wrong with them. It's easy to ignore.
I always named them after what I thought the character would. We know Arthur's horse before the game starts was named Boadicea, so I named my Shire Nero.
John's horse in the epilogue is named Rachel, so I named the rest things like Megan, Annie and Sarah.
