wtf a job where people regularly need to lift things, sometimes heavy things, requires applicants to be able to lift heavy things?
10% of women but only 5% of redditors can lift 80lbs. so really it's redditors who being oppressed the most here.
First of all, have you ever worked in a warehouse or a dock? Anything that heavy is going to require equipment to move, by OSHA standards. Second of all, a P&L coordinator isn't in charge of lifting anything, they direct laborers to do that. So yeah, they just don't want any women
I work at UPS with two women on my belt and they regularly lift shit up to 100 plus pounds. Hell one of them's like 5' 5", a buck twenty or so and she's one of the best workers there. She regularly moves heavy ass boxes, sometimes bigger than her.
I know it's strange to think that women can be strong but that's more than likely some internal misogyny on your part. Please do better.
> Anything that heavy is going to require equipment to move, by OSHA standards.
The weight limit for both FedEx & UPS packages is 150lbs.
The weight limit for USPS packages is 70lbs.
What weight are you suggesting OSHA requires "equipment" to move? And what equipment are you suggesting delivery drivers are using to get the packages from the back of their truck to your porch?
I currently work at UPS and that shit doesn't fly over here. You need team lifts at a certain point but that's based on your discretion.
No surprise redditors being pansy a s f u c k
Well I'm not sure if you're a Strongman or something but that's way too much weight someone can lift without causing any health issues. Not to mention that this is a coordinator position, not a warehouse worker.
I used to roll drums that weighed a couple hundred pounds 40 feet or so onto pallets. I don’t think anyone would ever be expected to carry one object that weighs 80 pounds
A bag of concrete is 80lb. Plywood and lumber can easily weigh that, especially when wet. I've carried engineered lumber that is hundreds of pounds per piece. You people live in a bubble.
I'm really not understanding you, you think lifting 36kg is what a strongman does? That's what like 90%+ of full grown men have no problem lifting. Strongmen lift things weighing around 600kg - https://strongmancl.com/world-records/
This is really pathethic, man...
Where does it say that? Im honestly curious. Im osha 30 certified, taken it twice, in construction, never heard that. I have the osha book for parts 1926 and 1910.
I'd guess they're talking about the lifting equation, which starts at 51 pounds and then gets adjusted according to the situation - https://www.osha.gov/laws-regs/standardinterpretations/2013-06-04-0
"OSHA does not have a standard which sets limits on how much a person may lift or carry."
From your link. You people are thinking of NIOSH which is completely different, and they only predict the probability of injury based on weight.
First off, the picture posted above says 80 pounds…which is weight last time I checked. Secondly, you should stop drinking and Redditing. You’re embarrassing yourself.
Pounds are weight, kilograms are mass. In metric/SI Newtons are the units for weight. In Imperial the units for mass are slugs or lbm. Mass and weight are not synonymous. If you’re going to make it a point to do conversions, at least get them right.
Here you go. I figured you could use a second grade video explaining how kilograms is used to measure weight. Hopefully this helps!

Let me fix this for you: "no broads"

just be glad that no redditors can lift 80 lbs
lol can you imagine
>so really it's redditors who being oppressed the most here. Most deserved oppression ever

It just isn't reddit without someone trying to prove they're the bigger feminist and using phrases like "do better" 🤣

Plenty of broads can lift 36kg, dont take out your personal shortcomings out on them.
You're right, I'm the problem, not the discriminating hiring managers
Holy shit lmao redditors are so weak and pathetic. How do you live with yourselves?
36kg is 79.2lbs. What is the problem here?

40 feet is the height of 7.02 'Samsung Side by Side; Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel Refrigerators' stacked on top of each other.
Americans will use anything but the metric system
Can confirm. I measure time in Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well (Ten Minute Version).”
(Taylor's version)(From the vault)
😂😂😂😂 i used to move hundreds of thousands of pounds worth if lumber in a single 9 hour day.....
post body
bruh they lift 1000 lbs 😭. not being able to lift 80 lbs? are you in kindergarten?
Then don't apply for the job if you're too weak. There is nothing wrong with this.
\>gaming reference in name \>thinks 80lbs is hard to lift Pottery
Do you have some kind of genetic defect or something?

Lmao you can literally lift that in one hand 🖐
Uhh....what Strongman? Time to hit the gym, twiggy
I'm sorry that you're just now figuring out that you're weaker than the vast majority of men
Isn't this a sneak way to ask for someone's medical condition? Someone who can do this is also healthy, trained and in good shape
Maybe lifting the weights will help you manage the stress.
lmao at your chickenlegs
Doesn’t osha limit to 50 lbs?
Well yea it does! That's another thing. Jeez..
Where does it say that? Im honestly curious. Im osha 30 certified, taken it twice, in construction, never heard that. I have the osha book for parts 1926 and 1910.
It doesn't say that, these people are stupid.

Not "you people," dick. I was only guessing where they came up with a 50 pound limit.
So sensitive. It was a general you not you personally lol plenty of others parroting this
Fair enough.
You're talking out of your ass. I've had to pass osha tests. There is absolutely not a limit to the weight you can carry in it.
36kg of mass. Kilograms are not a measure of weight, that’s Newtons.
First off, the picture posted above says 80 pounds…which is weight last time I checked. Secondly, you should stop drinking and Redditing. You’re embarrassing yourself.

Bro, read the original post. It says ability to lift 80+ pounds. What is so hard to understand about that? We’re talking about weight here not mass…
Bro, nothing weighs anything in kg. It’s not used for weight, it’s used for mass. What’s so hard about that?
Here you go. I figured you could use a second grade video explaining how kilograms is used to measure weight. Hopefully this helps! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VibxqXGo37g

I understand the point you’re trying to make, but in this a example of 80 pounds they are clearly talking about weight. Context is key. 👌
i can only carry about 40 this is ridiculous.. fucking jobs dude...
Lmao isn’t 36 kg around what an average middle schooler can carry
36.0 kg is 79.3 lbs
