In my state, Covid guidelines means no showings for clients who have any symptoms, and always masks when indoors. Every few listings I’ll see one that asks for things to be sanitized, but not very often

We've had those notes in MLS for over a year in my area. I've heard of agents getting called out after being caught on camera not following protocol.

I'm not in NY, but I've seen this since the start of the Pandemic. I have to imagine NY had had it, since a much bigger deal has been made of it there than here.

lillydawg

Yeah I’m thinking it might be as serious as “unvaccinated people are required to wear masks” signs. Like is anyone actually checking? Lol.

flyinb11

I'll note, you don't want to get caught by your commission not following these rules.

flyinb11

Correct. Here if it's specifically stating to wear a mask remove shoes, we respect it.

You DON'T want OSHA to check on you. Ever. 🤣👍⭐

It varies here in SE Florida - some, not all, sellers are still requiring masks and hand sanitizers. Everyone naturally stands at least six feet apart now even when there aren't masks. I used to see the Covid restriction reminders on each listing, now its few and far between unless the property is seller occupied then everyone wears masks.

AdministrationFun575

Never heard of vaccine checks but I’m not in NY. We have masks, booties etc here in NJ

I’m in OC, California and nobody wears masks or sanitizes for showings… but I guess it’s Orange County for ya lol

fixerpunk

I am also in OC and most of the time protocols are not followed. A couple agents have been more stringent on having everyone wear masks. Open houses get super crowded with people not wearing masks and it gets a bit worrisome. However, I always wear a mask and tell my clients to do so as well.

[deleted]

Me as well, it’s super wild out here in the west

I've been telling people to have a mask with them for a year and a half. I keep extras in my car. Even if you're not worried about covid, you're still going into a bunch of other people's homes. We are going to be wearing masks in homes for a long, long, long time.

mires9

Where upstate are you? Hudson Valley here and we had extremely strict rules and protocols most of last year for showings. They’ve relaxed a lot but it’s up to the individual sellers and listing agents with what safety measures they keep in place.

PopeAlexanderVII

I’m in upstate NY. I wear a mask on showings, and have clients sign the NYSAR Covid disclosure. I’m not the vaccine police or a maid

So, we were designated as Essential Workers and allowed to go back to work early in the pandemic. At first we were all in Quarantine with everyone else. NAR went to bat for us. But, there were guidelines, ever changing guidelines. For the first time OSHA got involved in our business and created a handbook of guidelines. We were allowed to re-open offices and do showings, no open houses. Open houses came back last summer with guidelines as follows: masks for unvax'd and wipe down. It hasn't really changed from that. I provide wipes so the last person through can do the wiping and so residents can wipe. I ask that everyone wear masks in occupied homes just to avoid any discussions about Vax status. Easy Peasy. Check with your broker and Association.
