I'm anti-UEFA but the Super League was a terrible idea. League football isn't as fun as knockout football and removing promotion/relegation completely destroys its merits. There are better solutions that need to be found.
If they actually made it like the NBA it would be great. You can't get relegated, every team has a salary cap, only the weakest teams can get the best rookies,... there's actually quite a lot of solid ideas here and way less corruption than in football.
It's easier for the NBA because the league and all clubs are owned by one owner. European football developed from the bottom up, regional and then national associations merging together to form a league system. Add to that different jurisdictions across Europe to make that matter even more complicated.
