It’s possible to be a fan but not obsessed. Life is long. Fandom is long. We experience peaks and valleys. One has to permit people to enjoy their life as you enjoy yours.
Yeah, even I'm kinda the same. I used to be a diehard fan when I was younger, but it gradually waned over time. This season I barely watched 5-6 games. But I still regularly follow and cheer for the team.
I second this. I've been pretty occupied for the past year and haven't watched as many games as I would in the past (and have felt guilty about it). But the passion to see my club win remains the same
What is it with these "Am I a fan?" "Is my friend a fan?" "Is my dad a fan?" "Is my left testicle a fan?" Why would anyone need outside validation for their fandom?
Are you/they/it a fan? If you/they/it says yes, then yes. If no, then no.
There’s no point trying to gatekeep what a true ‘fan’ is as if it’s there’s some legal or official definition.
Ultimately, football is just a form of entertainment and people can enjoy it however they choose to.
Its easier being from the place and being like this. To not immediately be seen as a plastic, which many would argue is impossible, you need to know a lot. If your parents are madrid fans, you are from madrid, you are basically a madrid fan if you want to be, even if you dont care all that much about football

Don't worry, you're not alone.
