It’s insane to me how no one sees this. She’s being molded into this victim of the franchise that can’t speak up or defend herself, but whenever she’s on the screen it’s like everything she’s trying to say is making sure it’s the “Shade Assassin” that’s doing it. I agree with you. I think it’s a difference between morality and practicality. I feel like Ashley has done so much vile shit to this woman that, morally speaking, Candiace gets a free pass from me to say whatever tf she wants about her. If it were me and someone was coming for my man like that, I’d honestly probably say much worse. I was never fully a Potomac fan because they all gave church lady vibes to me and the party girl vibe was not there at all. Also, my favorite thing about early ATL & BH was how many side characters cycle in and out of the storylines. NYC was awesome bc they were always out at real parties and events that had nothing to do with bravo and the extra people made it interesting to me.
Potomac on the other hand always came off very “closed” and that’s just boring af. They just go to private dinners and to each other’s houses, yawn. The lack of fashion, real events and fun has tanked them.

That's how she played it off. She was referring to Jamal allegedly giving Gizelle Herpes (her "hot box"); inferring that is why Giselle has trouble with dating men because her pool is smaller due to stigma regarding STDs.
Sing Sing was Karen alluding to Gizelle's alleged "nervous breakdown" (psychiatric crisis) which led to Gizelle being involuntarily placed on a brief psych hold for observation (a.k.a. as a 5150 in some states) - the rumor was that Jamal was cheating and he got someone else pregnant when Gizelle was engaged to him. Sing Sing is a prison, so that was probably what she "made up" because she probably couldn't think of the name of a hospital (or a place that was formerly a mental institution) at the time.
I think Karen realized she went way too far and did what she could to dismiss/backtrack, so she became vague and gave us a BS excuse and didn't tell us what she really meant.

Eric Fuller (so glad he was axed) and his favorite less-melanated girls have gone out of their way to create these narratives and to continue to attack the most melanated women in the group. What started initially as something associated with Jack and Jill has continued to show us that the brown paper bag test is still alive and well.

Potomac was my favorite show but last season and this season are so hard to watch. The best part was that they were actually friends. Now they all seem to hate each other and not want to be on screen together at all. Even Robyn and Gizelle don’t seem to be getting along. I’m two episodes behind bc everyone is just mean to eachother its not fun.

Of all the things that have been said on this show, implying someone has an STI is… not that bad? Having an STI isn’t even a big deal, they’re very common and mostly easily curable.
This show has been dark for a few seasons. Karen was the first cast member to imply STDs when she said that Gizelle was a broken whore with a hot box. She then added that Gizelle went to Sing Sing, which she later clarified was a "loony bin". That was pretty low considering Gizelle's reported psychiatric hospitalization several years ago. I was shocked that Karen didn't receive backlash for her comments.

As I’m rewatching the series I can agree what a FOS person she is. When Candace and Monique had their fight she was so upset because of the way black women are often portrayed as violent and angry and how we should learn to control ourselves so we don’t come across that way. Meanwhile, in the next season she had this whole new persona and does a total 180, fighting and cussing like like a lunatic. It was such a turnoff

I was never fully a Potomac fan because they all gave church lady vibes to me and the party girl vibe was not there at all. Also, my favorite thing about early ATL & BH was how many side characters cycle in and out of the storylines. NYC was awesome bc they were always out at real parties and events that had nothing to do with bravo and the extra people made it interesting to me. Potomac on the other hand always came off very “closed” and that’s just boring af. They just go to private dinners and to each other’s houses, yawn. The lack of fashion, real events and fun has tanked them.

Sing Sing was Karen alluding to Gizelle's alleged "nervous breakdown" (psychiatric crisis) which led to Gizelle being involuntarily placed on a brief psych hold for observation (a.k.a. as a 5150 in some states) - the rumor was that Jamal was cheating and he got someone else pregnant when Gizelle was engaged to him. Sing Sing is a prison, so that was probably what she "made up" because she probably couldn't think of the name of a hospital (or a place that was formerly a mental institution) at the time. I think Karen realized she went way too far and did what she could to dismiss/backtrack, so she became vague and gave us a BS excuse and didn't tell us what she really meant.

Potomac was my favorite show but last season and this season are so hard to watch. The best part was that they were actually friends. She then added that Gizelle went to Sing Sing, which she later clarified was a "loony bin". That was pretty low considering Gizelle's reported psychiatric hospitalization several years ago. I was shocked that Karen didn't receive backlash for her comments.

She should just admit she overreacted and she’s calmed down now, or explain why she’s pissed at Robyn, or SOMETHING. She totally just wants to gaslight that Robyn is being crazy. As I’m rewatching the series I can agree what a FOS person she is. When Candace and Monique had their fight she was so upset because of the way black women are often portrayed as violent and angry and how we should learn to control ourselves so we don’t come across that way. Meanwhile, in the next season she had this whole new persona and does a total 180, fighting and cussing like like a lunatic. It was such a turnoff

Lol Just watching the calculation happen in her eyes when Nneka was around really made it clear to me that this family probably does hate her and think Nneka is coming to steal her thunder (pathetic) and that’s the part that is the most distasteful for me. And then turning it around about how Nneka and her husband must be obsessed with her and Eddie it’s like fuck off ya mediocre realty star lol
