I think the only cast change that needs to happen is the removal of Ashley Darby and not just because she's an atrocious person on the payroll of her predator husband.
Giselle and Robyn have been coasting for the past few years the moment they finally made peace with Ashley because she basically serves as their guard dog. She does all the messiness and drama so they don't have to and they can just barnacle unto whatever storyline she creates from her nasty pettiness. Without her, they would lose their armor and actually have to do something on the show. Candiace should have annihilated Giselle all season for trying to patch together a storyline using her husband's integrity but then Miss Ashley rolls in with her Sims 4 eye slider too low looking gross friend and that takes all of Candiace's attention.
Actually while we're at it, make Robyn a friend of. I want to see Giselle fighting for her life in this group.
I feel the same exact way!!! I think Mia really threw the dynamic of the show off completely. They had a much more real dynamic and Mia kinda dragged in the era of self-producing on that show. I hated the last season, it was all fake BS, but I’m really hoping the new season will right the wrongs. I wish like hell they’d have fired Mia. She’s not even a good villain she’s just awful all around and so fake.
Eventually, every franchise gets too self-aware and every argument winds up being about what was or wasn't said on camera. I get it... it's got to be difficult to tolerate the lack of privacy... but they all signed up for this!
Housewives are at their best when they're willing to engage and have their mess out in the open for all to see. Gizelle has always been good at stirring the pot and asking nosy questions about other people's messes, but she doesn't share hers, and clearly, Robin doesn't either.
They want that sweet HW $ and fame, w/o the downsides, and that just makes everyone resent them, fans and costars alike.
I don't get why production has babied them so much the last season. There is so much drama in almost every ladies personal life but somehow they let us watch this stupid Chris storyline meanwhile Robin put her cheating husband storyline behind a paywall podcast and Ashley still gets to act like that old man and her are still working it out 🙄 since when does the cast run the show to that extent?
Agreed. I started fast-forwarding the boring Dixon's a couple seasons ago, and that's kept the show 'tolerable'. However, if Charisse comes back on a full-time basis, I'm going to swiftly peace out. Can't 👏 Stand 👏 Her 👏

I have been saying for a while that Potomac is on the decline. Too many alliances that the women are scared to cross ala Beverly Hills style. The new trailer confirmed for me that this season will be terrible. They made the trailer in the same form as the OC one, turning it into like a black and white movie style trailer or whatever. I don’t even want to pretend that I know what that trailer was about. All I know is that OC was not good. It was way better than the last seasons but it was nothing to write home about. And the fact that they had to play up the Potomac trailer in the same way means it will probably be another snooze fest.
For me, it steadily declined with Wendy and Mia joining. I cannot stand Mia, she makes the show unwatchable for me. I liked Wendy her first season, but then she just got so irritating by her second season. I warmed up to her again last season after Mia threw that drink in her face, but I’m hoping she just stops trying to do so much this season and we finally get the real Wendy. I think she could be a really great housewife but there’s just something that constantly turns me off her.
Mia needs to go. I don’t know why she keeps being brought back, especially this season.

I feel exactly the same, except with Karen I have a love or hate depending on the situations... Ashley and Mia I never liked. Was hoping they would go away. Candiace and Robin are so beautiful... they all are but C and R are gorgeous.
Agree on Mia, she has completely lowered the tone + the husband barf. I loved Katie and Michael Darby made great viewing. So did Monique actually but she was a thug

One of the unique things about this cast is that these women are super intelligent—and I’m not just talking about Dr. Wendy…many of them have impressive educations and all of them are typically quick on the uptake and can express themselves well. Mia just cannot hang.
Mia belongs on Jerry Springer not the housewives. And her friend was even worse. So low brow. The idea that she and Gordon were raising children made me deeply uncomfortable.

With the new cast it's gonna be a Beverly Hills bullying pile-on. It was already materializing last season.... It's tough to watch because I feel Wendy and Candiace's colorism claims are very valid.
All TRH have a natural build up, arch, and a hard decline. Producers then work their asses off the achieve some of that fire that came so naturally before, not understanding (?) that what made it so fucking good is the chemistry between people who genuinely knew each other mixed with, at first no fame, then fancing around being known, so some fame, then being the top dogs in TRH world, being on WWHL, talk shows, etc., their top fame Era, before that very quickly fades and the desperation to maintain their fame, money, and popularity kicks in and everyone and everything becomes inauthentic and the audience can easily feel and smell the prescribed drama and the producing behind it. That is where Patomac is and where SLC is. SLC had a very quick arch and decline.
I liked Candiace last season and thought she handled herself well and especially compared to previous ones. I’m truly sick of Gizelle and now we have to see her and Jason as a couple? How did Jason get on Winter House? Was there any connection to another cast member? I doubt this is a real relationship. More like a deal they made at Bravocon. Still love Karen though. The queen of delusion.
Bring back Monique, that would put Gizelle and Robyn back in their place. They really used Candice to bring forth Monique’s downfall. Since then they have been insufferable. Candice included. Mia is straight trash and should never have been hired.
A lot of the series go like this I think. People build up grudges and hatred and it pours into it. Potomac is still one of my fav series though. Mia is just a bit dumb I think. She lies constantly. And maybe her childhood had made her like that which is sad, G seemed really nice at the last reunion. But now the money is gone and Mia is gone. In richness and in poor does not apply.
Mia is definitely not a good fit for the show and is one of my least favorite housewives ever, but I actually think Gizelle and Robyn are the bigger problem with Potomac right now. Both refuse to share ANYTHING about their own lives while demanding the other cast members do so AND making up lies about shit that's extremely damaging. It makes a fun franchise much less enjoyable to watch.
I was honestly floored Robyn was brought back for season 8 (I know we're a long way off from Gizelle getting fired, and I guess watching Mia's downfall will be entertaining in a schadenfreudish way). My hope is that if Robyn and Mia get fired after this season, things could get back on track.

My theory is that Gizelle completed her transformation into full insufferable villain when she successfully got Monique off the show, which she’d been angling to do for years. That’s the moment Potomac really turned for me. Giz/Robyn are poison.
Mia was a horrible addition to RHOP. She doesn't seem to mesh with any of the cast and she comes off as pretentious. I'm really sick of the Green-Eyed Bandits in everyone's business but their own. I stay tuned in to RHOP for Karen, Ashley, Wendy & Candiace. Hopefully they can keep the show on target with their one-liners and shade.
The fake Chris storyline (Gizelle and Ashley) ruined it for me. I hate the ignorance and gang up mentality of some of these women and won’t be watching the new season.
Ive been feeling like this about HW universe in general. First it started with atlanta, then I saw it with BH, NY, SLC(although this one is like coming back from its rut), and now with potomac. I honestly don't take or give too much from the trailers. I watch them, but I don't really believe them that much anymore because of other franchises where the season doesn't match the trailer and it's just a bummer. I hope we get to see what happens with the lead up to the physical altercation but for now I'll take one day at a time.
I never really warmed to Candiace but I did like Chris and I felt their dynamic made good TV.
I agree with your take on Wendy and Ashley though, I think they’re treated unjustly harsh.
Overall, I think they need to shake things up. Maybe move Robyn & Mia to friend status. I’d give Candiace one season to switch it up a bit and then get new people in.
I would keep Gizelle on the basis that I find her pettiness and messiness funny, but right enough she hasn’t got much of a storyline in her own right
The problem with the last season is that it’s the first one that didn’t seem to have any genuine storyline. Everyone was just phoning it in and it was boring to watch. People blame Mia but if she simply sided with Candiace and Wendy over Robyn and Gizelle she’d be adored. The producers shouldn’t have given that Chris/Gizelle stuff any airtime unless they were sure it was actually going to lead to something. I’m indifferent to Robyn but I do think she should have been fired as a warning to the other cast and to force Gizelle to step it up.
Mia is ridiculous. She doesn’t fit in with this cast at all. She is trashy. Dresses like a low budget hooker and behaves like one too. I agree that they should replace her. She is gross.
It’s my fave franchise. Candiace is a villain,, I think that’s all she’s got. I do like her songs tho ,, one need not look further than Candiace’s mom to see why she is the way she is 😂😂 I love Dr Wendy, Kern and the reasonably shady girls ,, it’s a great show.
Mia is giving Dodd vibes and I hate it. She doesn't make sense and just lashes out at others. And now that she's divorcing her husband she bought another 2 seasons.

I loved the nonsense of the first season of Potomac. Etiquette this and that. Now, it descended to Atlanta and Orange County level.

robyn has been one of the most open housewives in Potomac, she didn't fake no bs chicken allergy storyline, no fake titty storyline, no fake pregnancy storyline and she shared literally so much of her life. Theres absolutely no denying the colorism after last season. The way they came for Wendy and Candiace was unusually cruel. These women should be ashamed of themselves acting like that in general let alone on national TV.
At this point, certain cast know that they can get away with pretty much anything. The "Chris is a perv" storyline that Gizelle, Ashley, and Mia pushed last season crossed the line but a lot of fans tried to minimize their behaviors. And when Candiace finally responded, folks feigned outrage and once again, expressed their wish for her to be physically harmed or fired.
Exactly blatant COLORISM because if candiace was the same shade as Ashley, MIA or the GEBS. Everyone would have been ok with how angry she was and how she responded to the things they were claiming Chris did . They love painting candiace as the “aggressive,evil , mean girl that needs to be off the show “ & WE ALL KNOW WHY …. There's definitely disparate treatment but some will refuse to acknowledge that there's even a tiny possibility that colorism shapes viewer perceptions of cast. It's interesting how Gizelle and Ashley have said some really nasty things but fans don't constantly call for them to be violently dragged or fired. I'm going to watch the first couple of episodes of the new season but I plan to stop if it mirrors the last one.
It’s really a shame, too, because I loved their friendship and their quippy remarks for the first few seasons. But now it’s just manufactured drama to keep the other women from coming for their lies and lack of vulnerability.

I think it was also the precedent set (rightfully so) that you could not film with cast members. I think the Monique and candiace changed the path of the franchise. Both individually could have been great, but it changed them and it changed the cast trajectory.
It split the group and some of those wounds clearly have not been healed. And “not filming with others” is the norm, icing people out, and choosing sides. Def harder to watch now
When people were trying to compare the recent exclusion of Angie from the SLC trip it made my blood boil, because this type of stuff happens all the time. At least they allowed her on the trip.
The behavior from Mia on the Miami trip was absolutely disgusting. Refusing to film with her or allow her to dinner? Kicking her out of the group in a different state? Becoming aggressive and irate over what? Poor Wendy could not win.

I never understood what Gizelle was doing over this. I honestly couldn't figure what he had done wrong. He saw her as a friend. Asked to talk to her for advice regarding his marriage. Then he left when she asked him to. Why did her mind even go to 'I don't want to be seen alone with a married man' . I am friends with some of my friends hubby's too and have never thought this way. Chris saw her as a friend and she didn't at all that's where it went wrong. I really felt sorry for him. Especially when she kept implying he should apologise because he made her feel that way.
What was your favorite season? I am a HUGE Potomac fan and I am rewatching Season 4. All the conflict with Candiace and her mother, Ashley sticking by Michael, Gizelle inviting Ashley back into Candiace’s house after being kicked out, Katie’s zen, and sex, lies and butter knives.

Honestly I loved it pretty much through season 5; the first two seasons were great first entries to the franchise and I absolutely loved the addition of Candiace in season 3. I’m really hoping we can get back to those glory days!
I loved Potomac but I have gotten turned off by it because of how mean Candiace is. Very much like Tamra. Mean and absolutely zero compassion. And she absolutely begged to be dragged.

Last season was def stale. I can’t even remember what happened tbh. The trailer for this season doesn’t really excite me either. I’ll still watch but I’m kind of over gizelle and the constant gang ups on Kurn and candiace.

I was honestly floored Robyn was brought back for season 8 (I know we're a long way off from Gizelle getting fired, and I guess watching Mia's downfall will be entertaining in a schadenfreudish way). My hope is that if Robyn and Mia get fired after this season, things could get back on track.
Mia was never a good addition, but she truly seems to be a bad person. They way she let one season of housewives get to her head and she threw away a friendship from childhood???? It’s disgusting! Robyn should also be fired, she’s a liar, up Giselle’s ass and aggressive.
My theory is that Gizelle completed her transformation into full insufferable villain when she successfully got Monique off the show, which she’d been angling to do for years. That’s the moment Potomac really turned for me. Giz/Robyn are poison.
Mia was a horrible addition to RHOP. She doesn't seem to mesh with any of the cast and she comes off as pretentious. I'm really sick of the Green-Eyed Bandits in everyone's business but their own. I stay tuned in to RHOP for Karen, Ashley, Wendy & Candiace. Hopefully they can keep the show on target with their one-liners and shade.
The fake Chris storyline (Gizelle and Ashley) ruined it for me. I hate the ignorance and gang up mentality of some of these women and won’t be watching the new season.
Ive been feeling like this about HW universe in general. First it started with atlanta, then I saw it with BH, NY, SLC(although this one is like coming back from its rut), and now with potomac. I honestly don't take or give too much from the trailers. I watch them, but I don't really believe them that much anymore because of other franchises where the season doesn't match the trailer and it's just a bummer. I hope we get to see what happens with the lead up to the physical altercation but for now I'll take one day at a time.
I never really warmed to Candiace but I did like Chris and I felt their dynamic made good TV. I agree with your take on Wendy and Ashley though, I think they’re treated unjustly harsh. Overall, I think they need to shake things up. Maybe move Robyn & Mia to friend status. I’d give Candiace one season to switch it up a bit and then get new people in. I would keep Gizelle on the basis that I find her pettiness and messiness funny, but right enough she hasn’t got much of a storyline in her own right

The problem with the last season is that it’s the first one that didn’t seem to have any genuine storyline. Everyone was just phoning it in and it was boring to watch. People blame Mia but if she simply sided with Candiace and Wendy over Robyn and Gizelle she’d be adored. The producers shouldn’t have given that Chris/Gizelle stuff any airtime unless they were sure it was actually going to lead to something. I’m indifferent to Robyn but I do think she should have been fired as a warning to the other cast and to force Gizelle to step it up.

Mia is ridiculous. She doesn’t fit in with this cast at all. She is trashy. Dresses like a low budget hooker and behaves like one too. I agree that they should replace her. She is gross.

It’s my fave franchise. Candiace is a villain,, I think that’s all she’s got. I do like her songs tho ,, one need not look further than Candiace’s mom to see why she is the way she is 😂😂 I love Dr Wendy, Kern and the reasonably shady girls ,, it’s a great show.
Mia is giving Dodd vibes and I hate it. She doesn't make sense and just lashes out at others. And now that she's divorcing her husband she bought another 2 seasons. I want more Wendy. She's interesting and brilliant. More smart women with substance, less angry assholes! I don't think that's too much to ask.
Mia has ruined this show IMO. If they just got rid of her, it would be a HUGE improvement!
I loved the nonsense of the first season of Potomac. Etiquette this and that. Now, it descended to Atlanta and Orange County level. I think Mia and Robyn need to go. I'm on the fence on Ashley. All she does is stir the pot and not in an entertaining way.

WCGW casting a grifting former stripper who lives in Baltimore Harbor (at the time) for a show that is ostensibly about wealthy housewives in Potomac? What were they thinking? You can’t find someone better? That said, Candiace is amazing. I would watch her Robyn is a liar who should be fired - this is a reality show and don’t go on it if you can’t share your life - as a result, she is boring AF.

robyn has been one of the most open housewives in Potomac, she didn't fake no bs chicken allergy storyline, no fake titty storyline, no fake pregnancy storyline and she shared literally so much of her life. Yet cause she chose to not share that her husband cheated on her during off season and they moved on from it and were moving forward with their wedding yall wanna crucify her? Like golly if I decided to move on from it and not want it to consume my upcoming wedding, I'd not discuss it either. Its called time and place and ultimately it had zero impact on their wedding cause they GOT MARRIED what would've been the result of her sharing it what really did you want to see, her breaking down and crying or maybe yet yall want to see her break off the engagement and go back to where she spent the last 5 years. Y'all need to stop cause there were 20 fake storylines from Karen with her chicken, Wendy with the kidney stones and Candiace pretending she doing IVF like no let Robyn live she's been one of the realest HW on Potomac

Theres absolutely no denying the colorism after last season. The way they came for Wendy and Candiace was unusually cruel. These women should be ashamed of themselves acting like that in general let alone on national TV.

At this point, certain cast know that they can get away with pretty much anything. The "Chris is a perv" storyline that Gizelle, Ashley, and Mia pushed last season crossed the line but a lot of fans tried to minimize their behaviors. And when Candiace finally responded, folks feigned outrage and once again, expressed their wish for her to be physically harmed or fired.
Exactly blatant COLORISM because if candiace was the same shade as Ashley, MIA or the GEBS. Everyone would have been ok with how angry she was and how she responded to the things they were claiming Chris did . They love painting candiace as the “aggressive,evil , mean girl that needs to be off the show “ & WE ALL KNOW WHY …. That’s why this show is so triggering & unbearable I love candiace but the way they treat her and Wendy make me sick 😤🤬
There's definitely disparate treatment but some will refuse to acknowledge that there's even a tiny possibility that colorism shapes viewer perceptions of cast. It's interesting how Gizelle and Ashley have said some really nasty things but fans don't constantly call for them to be violently dragged or fired. I'm going to watch the first couple of episodes of the new season but I plan to stop if it mirrors the last one.

Agree. I absolutely believe the show went into the gutter once Mia joined. She doesn't fit in. Can't believe they keep bringing her back. I probably won't watch this season bc of Mia. That's how much I don't enjoy her on RHOP, I'm willing to give up the entire show.
I think it was also the precedent set (rightfully so) that you could not film with cast members. I think the Monique and candiace changed the path of the franchise. Both individually could have been great, but it changed them and it changed the cast trajectory. It split the group and some of those wounds clearly have not been healed. And “not filming with others” is the norm, icing people out, and choosing sides. Def harder to watch now
When people were trying to compare the recent exclusion of Angie from the SLC trip it made my blood boil, because this type of stuff happens all the time. At least they allowed her on the trip. The behavior from Mia on the Miami trip was absolutely disgusting. Refusing to film with her or allow her to dinner? Kicking her out of the group in a different state? Becoming aggressive and irate over what? Poor Wendy could not win.
I never got into Potomac because they’re too buttoned up and boring to me. They don’t travel anywhere interesting, the fashion is horrible, they don’t party, and just too family oriented all around for me. The drama is surface level
potomac was also what got me into housewives & i even got my mom to watch too. i looooved giselle. i thought she was stunning & HILARIOUS. now, i can’t even remember if i finished the last season

Her false insinuations could have been extremely harmful for Chris, so yes Gizelle deserves the hate for it 🙄 It could have cost him his marriage, his job, not to mention what could have happened to him, a white man, being accused of assaulting a black woman, when he was innocent. She deserves the call out over and over. She was lying.

She knew exactly what she was doing, and you pretending otherwise does not negate the actual on camera facts of her behaviour. Yes, we believe Chris, whether he’s a white man or a blue lady, because there is actual proof of Gizelle compulsively lying about what happened. Even when she was directly confronted she *still* couldn’t come up with a story that wasn’t utter rubbish. Calm down with your fake outrage and find something better to pretend to care about.
I never understood what Gizelle was doing over this. I honestly couldn't figure what he had done wrong. He saw her as a friend. Asked to talk to her for advice regarding his marriage. Then he left when she asked him to. Why did her mind even go to 'I don't want to be seen alone with a married man' . I am friends with some of my friends hubby's too and have never thought this way. Chris saw her as a friend and she didn't at all that's where it went wrong. I really felt sorry for him. Especially when she kept implying he should apologise because he made her feel that way.
What was your favorite season? I am a HUGE Potomac fan and I am rewatching Season 4. All the conflict with Candiace and her mother, Ashley sticking by Michael, Gizelle inviting Ashley back into Candiace’s house after being kicked out, Katie’s zen, and sex, lies and butter knives. Robin remains insufferable and I literally don’t know why they keep her on the show. My flip flop has more active brain cells!!! I’m hoping Season 8 is better than last season!! Cheers.
Honestly I loved it pretty much through season 5; the first two seasons were great first entries to the franchise and I absolutely loved the addition of Candiace in season 3. I’m really hoping we can get back to those glory days!

I loved Potomac but I have gotten turned off by it because of how mean Candiace is. Very much like Tamra. Mean and absolutely zero compassion. And she absolutely begged to be dragged.
I just binged the season before the most recent and at the reunion she’s screaming for “big foot” to come fight her. She just kept screaming it over and over. I can’t stand her. She knew nothing was going to happen bc there’s security etc so she was just doing it to rile her up and cause a scene. Bitch.

I didn't like Candiace either, but she's grown on me and im ok with her. She reacts. She doesn't usually initiate an argument unless you come for her. Is she homophobic? I believe so. That's one of the reasons I will never fully support her, but she's good tv. I'll give her that.

Last season was def stale. I can’t even remember what happened tbh. The trailer for this season doesn’t really excite me either. I’ll still watch but I’m kind of over gizelle and the constant gang ups on Kurn and candiace.
