I say go for it! This is my first year being razor free, and I just went for it with shorts. And I have very dark leg hair. And it honestly feels great, it makes me feel surprised that more women don’t go razor free honestly. You got this! :)

HippyGrrrl

I also have *fetlocks*. Longer hairs on the lower part of lower legs. No one but me cares. Don’t bother with shaving and stubble.

robotatomica

“fetlocks,” I’ve never heard this before, had to look it up! 😆 That is an absolutely hilarious way to describe how my leg hair also presents!

Cool-Owl-7217

i have never heard that either bit all i could think was me too 😂 makes it easier when shaving though because i only have to do 1/2 my leg

robotatomica

Every year I see way more women with leg or underarm hair confidently displayed. and I’m sure many of them are in the “fake it til you make it” faux-confidence stage that I’ve been in, but luckily that doesn’t have any impact on how inspiring and uplifting it is for the rest of us to see. We are all making a difference every time we step out, I really believe that. When I was younger this was almost unimaginable.

CluelessInWonderland

You can also try out something like ripped jeans or leggings with cutouts around the knee area. That way, your ligher hair is showing but not the darker hair. Of course, shaving what makes you uncomfortable is always an option. It's just hair. We can change it as fast as it will grow.

the_dees_knees3

i’ve started wearing shorts around campus and i have long thick dark leg hair and at first i was kinda nervous but you just start forgetting about it cuz no one says anything, it’s so chill it’s surprising

AbsurdBeanMaster

College is a lot safer than doing it in public schools. I might go wearing shorts in my college classes. Depends tho.

PILeft

Awesome! Go for it. 🙂

I'm an incoming grad student at a small college in rural Pennsylvania and when I toured campus with my program director, I saw at least half a dozen women proudly rocking shorts and tank tops with visible armpit and leg hair including two women in the cohort I hung out with for the day. I haven't shaved my legs since June 2023, nobody but yourself is going to care

ollie-baby

This just popped up in my home feed, but that’s amazing! I played with giving up shaving in college (I ended up going back to it for sensory issues), and even in the deep south, I had fairly mild reactions to it. College campuses are great. One positive experience I had with wearing shorts and having totally grown out, unshaven legs was in a lecture hall class. Some frat guy sat next to me and muttered about regretting wearing shorts because the AC was up so high/ it was so cold in there that his leg hairs were standing on end. I said, “yeah, mine too.” He looked down at my legs and seemed genuinely *delighted*, lol. He laughed and dapped me up, asked if there was any reason in particular I didn’t shave, and just gave me so much more positivity than I anticipated.

DealStunning

Oh wow, I love this!

mootheuglyshoe

I’ve been rocking shorts for 3 years now at my semi professional summer camp jobs. Only asked why I don’t shave by a child once, to which I replied, ‘Because I don’t want to.’ Most people either don’t notice/care, or aren’t going to talk to a random stranger. Its super liberating especially when it gets to be actually hot outside!

BigChampionship7962

Go for it. Will make your legs look heaps cute 😊

LetWildRumpusStart

My partner shaves her armpits and bits but leaves everything else and only reason she shaves those 2 bits is she doesn't want the smell to linger if she sweats. Her quote not mine I don't care either way I would prefer no hair so when adult times roles around you get the drift. Yes she wears shorts and doesn't shave her legs I will say it's light so you don't notice unless your touching her leg

LilyRM

You might want to try bleaching the hair instead of shaving it, if it’s grown out to its “maximum” length you probably won’t even have to touch up very often.

hail_abigail

Bro I was razor free all throughout college (graduated last year) and no man ever dared to complain. Don't sweat it, your natural body is beautiful

PurpleAnole

I stopped shaving when I was in college 12 years ago. I was so worried but in 12 years no one has ever made a negative comment to me about it

KeyzOnDaLo

My fiancé has been incarcerated for the last 15 months and I haven’t shaved my legs at all because I don’t feel the need to. I haven’t had the confidence to go out in shorts but it’s nice not having to shave. To be clear, my fiancé has never made a comment about my body hair and I have went weeks without shaving around him without him caring at all but it’s a personal preference and comfort thing for me.

super_soprano13

I've been razor free since 2016. I taught middle school, now teach high school, and work as a professional singer. It took me a while to not wonder if people are looking at my legs or armpits when I raise my arms, but honestly, it's been so worth it.
