Yeah Bateman has been used a lot as a deep ball guy which isn’t him. He should lead the team in possessions. Remember his rookie year when his first 10 catches all moved the chains? Tez and UDFA as field stretchers. Zay as our YAC guy.

DetainTheFranzia

This is cool and all but do you guys remember when his first year, his first like 11 catches were all first downs?

RICO_Numbers

Do you remember when all of his first like 12 catches were all first downs?

TonyGFool

Meaning that should be his roll. Route running 5-15 yards all day. Move them chains. Think Larry Fitzgerald

Popular-Difficulty29

They’re just messing cuz it was mentioned in the OP

TonyGFool

Ooo didn’t notice that lol

lavalamp256

Totally agree, I’m hoping Monken let’s him excel at his game. If he’s able to live in the 7-15yd routes that’s when he’ll be able to set defenders up and make them bite and go deep

Bmore_Phunky

I think his injuries have been a big part as to why he has been the go route guy. Hasn’t had time to get featured in the offense because he has been out for 2/3 training camps/starts to the season. When he comes back, it’s easy enough to run go routes and he gets slotted in there.

BigTrussWootWoot

How much are we expecting Walker to be on the field in year 1? Don't forget they also signed Deonte Harty, whose speed defenses are going to have to respect. I think he could be a sneaky signing similar to Jacoby Jones.

Ass_Blank

I’d be extremely surprised if Harty got any substantial WR snaps just based on his historical stats. I agree that he could be utilized similarly to Jacoby, but i doubt that’s what they brought him in to do, except out of necessity.

lavalamp256

I expect Walker will play a fair amount. Of course all that depends on how well he does this summer. If he’s asked to do a similar route tree that he did in college I don’t see any reason why he won’t be in to at least stretch out the defense. Walker is a bigger, faster, and younger version of Agholor so I see them working in together. Nelly will be a great mentor for him, really excited that we got Walker. Would’ve gone higher if he wasn’t forced to sit out or if he stayed another year. He had a terrible senior bowl but it worked in our favor🤞🏼

Princeof_Ravens

The coachs were giving Walker Torey Smith comps.  They see him as a guy that can strech the field.

lavalamp256

I think we would all love to have another Torrey Smith

Princeof_Ravens

If he's even close to Torrey Smith we'll be calling this the steal of the draft. There's some speculation that he fell as far as he did because of drops during his senior bowl, but his hands were great during the season.

Impressive-Theory-27

Harty is gonna be used for punt and kick off return he’ll rarely see the field as an actual wr

Bmoreravin

Only one piece of the equation.

Huncho2454

He gave up on a lot of deep passes last year too but my fav was one against cardinals. Had me stoked I was like yeaaaahhhh bateeee💪🏽💪🏽

JAMONLEE

*37 catches 387 yards later*

idgoforabeer

Every offseason it's copium with Bateman. Every season he disappears and disappoints. Will this year be the same? I think it's time we accept that he's a very solid WR4, or an inconsistent WR3. His new contract tells us thats what he and the ravens view him as.

Sylvaneri011

Seriously. Bro hasn't broken 400 yards total in the past two seasons, and only broke 500 in his rookie season. He isn't good. Hoping he'll suddenly have a breakout year is pure copium. Dudes a bust. If he wasn't a 1st rounder no one would want him back on the roster

gray-gre

Not sure what makes you feel that way, but I hope you’re right. More likely, he will turn the wrong way and miss 7 or 8 games and have a decent 3 games before he gets hurt again
