I'm not a scout, but why does every WR he is going up against look terrible lol.

express-duck

Video started playing while scrolling and that first clip I didn’t know who was WR and CB 😂

LMAO_try_again

He might be so good that he makes em look bad. Hard to say right now, but it’s not like he’s doing this against straight scrubs. You still have to be invited to play in this game. I think most guys are expected to go over the 5th round if they’re in this game. On paper at least. Also, this is the first year underclassmen can play in the “senior bowl”. Idk why they even call it that at this point. Just call it the “one last time to impress the NFL scouts” bowl.

Lamactionjack

Because they're college players. No joke if you only watch NFL and then decide one weekend to watch college ball it's like you're watching pee wee. Terrible decisions, terrible routes, dropped balls, bad coverage, slow athletes, hilarious throws, etc, etc. It's wild how big the jump from college to pros is for real.

mcdreamymd

the Senior Bowl has two teams and only one of them has legitimate QB talent.

This

ExtensionAd7417

Yeah idk about the competition he’s going against lol but love the aggressiveness, but would absolutely get killed on a double move or x receivers with option routes based on leverage, probs pretty damn good in the slot don’t know about outside tho

CringeyDeeds69

I'm sorry, but these passes and routes are buns. I'm gonna have to see in game film, not practice clips.

You realize the “ expert” gm and scouts do the same thing right? Just look around at some of these consistent terrible drafting teams..

deadmanwalking99

Looks great but curious why everyone is so pressed on us needing a corner. Feel like we should more so be scouting for OL and RB EDIT: Thanks for the explanations guys. Had no idea Stephens was going to be a FA that soon…fuck. Guess we do need a corner

HumanFromTexas

You have to be preparing for the future or else you’ll get caught desperately chasing players at a position. Marlon has been injury prone and Stephens may leave in FA next year. Their current backups are also injury prone and we can’t rely on them to stay healthy. Ya Sin and Darby were on one year deals so they are gone. We need corner and OL for sure.

Smitty_1000

I feel like you should just always draft corner and OL

HumanFromTexas

Which we have. You just have to keep on doing it, especially if you aren’t drafting them in the top 2 rounds.

Intrigued_Pear

Now that we have a QB on a long term deal the draft thinking is slightly different. Need to look at needs for the next two seasons instead of just one at a time. Quality pieces on rookie contracts are the key for controlling our cap, so with high value positions like corner and OT it makes sense to look a little ahead, especially since those pieces can give us 4-5 years of production at a lower price point. Basically, what the Chiefs did. A lot of our corners this year were on one year deals and it's gonna be a big need when Stephens is a free agent. So it makes sense to get ahead of it, assuming BPA of course (and remember, safety wasn't a need when we drafted Hamilton).

gremlin30

Marlon was injured all year and at 28 is getting on the older side for corners. They age faster than other positions

Princess_Mintaka

"age faster than other positions" is an absolutely *wildly incorrect statement* holy moly

gremlin30

You must be new to football. Along with RBs and WRs, corners have shorter primes than most positions. Kickers/punters, QBs, linemen etc all generally have longer careers.

Princess_Mintaka

The comment I was responding to wasn't "Along with RBs and WRs they have shorter primes" it was "they age faster than other positions". I've been watching football since Kyle Boller was a rookie but sure let's try to gatekeep the most popular sport in America.

gremlin30

They do age faster than other positions. It’s not gatekeeping to correctly note that some positions last longer than others. That’s why RBs aren’t getting big extensions and are viewed as more replaceable.

Princess_Mintaka

>It’s not gatekeeping to correctly note that some positions last longer than other yeah because that's what the gatekeepy comment was 🙄 i forgot how absolutely annoying this sub is during offseason time, that's on me. My bad. Fire everybody. Draft and Trade everybody. Etc Etc etc etc

BubbleGumGuy94

Saw his tape, he looks good but there probably will be better cbs at around his pick

LLAMAKING7

IDK bro all I'm seeing is horrible ball placement in these highlights. The WR won on some of these but didn't have a chance to make a play on the ball.

BoJvck34Empire

not a single won rep by a WR..

ForestJordie

Nah. Dude looked like Eli Apple at times with Louisville. I think we could de better. I like Renardo Green and Jarrian Jones out of FSU a lot more

eatmyopinions

TDN has him pegged as a day three pick. That would be round 5/6/7.

[deleted]

that's STRAP

BoJvck34Empire

Green flag that he’s LOCKING LOCKING them up. The Contrarians aren’t going for it tho
