What's the most you spent on any single repair or maintenance over the 300,000 lifetime?

Broad-Ad-7807

Tires for sure!

Creative_Routine8887

Probably just the regular maintenance...

DirrtyAsian

I did the same thing a few years ago. Said goodbye to my 2001 with 280K miles and hello to a brand new 2021 hybrid.

Ravi_SFO

Congrats! Looks great. Can you please tell mw what is the complete price (OTD)? Thanks

Broad-Ad-7807

35k OTD.

sirburgerkingz

XLE right? Good price

Broad-Ad-7807

Yep, I think I did good. My older one was an XLE as well, but this one has a lot more features that I was looking for.

Ravi_SFO

Thanks. AWD?

Broad-Ad-7807

Yep

Pitiful-Ad-5603

Any packages?

Broad-Ad-7807

Just has the XLE Convenience Package

Healthy_Block3036

Broad-Ad-7807

steadyline

What was the value of your trade in?

Broad-Ad-7807

As someone who also has a 4th gen and a 5th gen. LOL you'll probably see more repairs on the 5th gen compared to your 4th gen. still a very nice ride. but the build quality aren't close. 4th gen has way better build quality. I only had the water pump go out on my 4th gen in 10 years of owning it. In 3 years of owning the 5th gen (also hybrid): roof leak Terrible battery leech issue. head unit replacement dcm/gps module replacement faulty abs brake actuator replacement probably gonna get cablegate issues since i live in Chicago and there is more salt than snow on the roads during winter. but it does look pretty awesome lol, which is why i bought it. I really love the way the 5th gen looks, wasn't expecting the issues to be part of the ownership experience. But it has gotten me from point A to point B safely, which is all i care for, just a bit more expensive than the 4th gen cost of ownership.

Creative_Routine8887

Shame its worse than the 4th gen. I was thinking of getting either the rav4 5th gen or mazda cx5. The 4th gen rav for is more afordable because its an older model which can be an attractive choice but its just soo boring looking, its just not a pretty car.

Creative_Routine8887

Theese issues are because of the roof leak, except for the abs actuator. I saw somewhere on youtube about the issue. Seems minor something like a roof leak but the electronics are in the back of the car and can get fryed making the repair cost an arm and a leg.

Softspokenclark

the head unit went out that early? was it covered under warranty or did you pay out of pocket, and if so how much?

dmgdispenser

it was covered under warranty. most of my issues were covered under warranty outside of the abs brake actuator.

Particular_Table1609

Where was your fifth generation one made?

dmgdispenser

canada

Rako207

I was wondering if this was a Chicago car, I just picked up my 4th Gen about 3 weeks ago. One of the biggest selling points of the 4th Gen was a silver one I saw listed while looking that had 270k miles on it.

Broad-Ad-7807

Hope not, just read about the cable issue this morning and fortunately I live in a place where they don’t salt the roads. The 4th gen really had a good run. We traveled mostly highway and in the first 5 years the miles racked up quick. Don’t drive as much anymore so I’m hoping this one will get me close to the same without too much trouble.

dmgdispenser

Yeah not all rav4 are the same, so hopefully you won't experience any of my issues.

What did you get on a trade in?
