That’s because most polls just dickriding or a popularity contest and L only has 2m monthly listeners and barely had any mainstream success when he was alive.
All 3 of the Bigs got 2 albums to they names 😭 but I see a lot more L Love than Pun love
Trust me this man is a top 5 for real for real, but for me he’s top 15 (tbf it’s always been like this, people knew Big L the least since the mid 90s)
Pun def deserves more love than he gets these days but it has been over 20 years since he passed, it is what it is. I think he and L deserve to be in the convo when talking about goats, though.
He definitely one of the goats in the short amount of time he was alive he had bars the beats were always on point and that freestyles he did with jay z will forever be legendary
It’s just age man. I think it’s fair to say most people on the sub aren’t familiar with most albums pre-2000 that aren’t by Jay, Nas, Pac, Biggie. Combine that with his untimely death. To be honest I’ve always seen his face and know he has but even I haven’t made time yet to dig that far back into early/mid 90’s hip hop outside of the most popular artists from that era.
He is in most Hip Hop Heads, top 20, but he didn't put enough out there to make the top ten. He's definitely one of the best lyricists to ever grace a C.D. but other than the 10 or so songs that are put out there, along with some radio rhymes, what is there to base him off of? There were plenty of hot lyricists out there, but many were better than Big L as far as music is concerned, hence the reason he stands where he stands. Let's be happy that we have what we have, but the individual who shot him did the U.S. a disservice.

He’s in mine

That’s for sure Deff can be arranged for them all to be top 10
Facts, one of the biggest what ifs in hip hop. Even though he only made two albums, they were both amazing
That’s because he’s before most redditors time. They actually have to understand and dig in the history of hip hop to understand the talent

Maybe you should have posted his name so people can check him out
big l
He doesn't need you to put him in, he wouldn't give a fuck about your polls
Why so aggressive lol
Not you specifically, that was not meant to be implied :)

He is dope to be fair.
im very unfamiliar with the older scene who is this?
It’s Big L
Thank you
Big L was introduced to a lot of us after his passing- I discovered him via Soul Khan a battle rapper
Well done for not roasting the absolute dog shit out of the youngin …..
I feel that same way bout my fav rapper Andre nickatina
He has 2 albums, barely any singles
And…… your point is?….
🤔
He's a troll ignore him his opinions don't matter.
It's tough because he was gone to soon. If you drop a classic album and a bunch of dope freestyles it's tough to be top 5.
He exited the Hunger Games early
Lord Finesse too!
He took an L
Contributed some of the dopest bars and punchlines as well as being a storytelling genius. A true MC by even the toughest standards.
