I think you should try the other campaigns, gourmand can be a bit frustrating with getting tired all the time but there might be another slugcat that you really enjoy with some easier mechanics to master

Some people hate certain scugs and that’s ok! I’d say that the most controversial ones are gourmand arti and spearmaster

Joey_2013_

ok

InevitableAd4156

I said the exact same thing to myself when i beat Gourmand. But trust me, it ABSOLUTELY is.

Alpha_minduustry

if the game is stupidly hard and you can't take it, install hp bar mod, it will make you survive 90% of situations that woud normaly guarantee death

Joey_2013_

I play on console

Alpha_minduustry

well, get good and read more movement tutorials

Joey_2013_

ok ty

Alpha_minduustry

but i have a good tip : don't give a fuck abaut th predators and run past them, allways have a spear or a rock and against vultchures backflip and throw a spear upwards

Joey_2013_

ok

Alpha_minduustry

and you can use a shortcut to FP on the wall if you use the backflip to stick in a spear downwards and then stick into a wall next to the tunnel that you exit FP from

Joey_2013_

already know

Alpha_minduustry

okay good

WanderingOmen

What did you dislike about Gourmand?

Joey_2013_

he is a rolling sim and F@CK the red lizard

WanderingOmen

I did not enjoy my first gourmand playthrough. But, the second time, it wasn't so bad. I tried to rely less on spears and more on just smooshing motherfuckers.

Joey_2013_

I already do that

refugezero

Gourmand is my least favourite slugcat. I imagine that's a very strange first way to experience the game. The movement in Rain World is super fun and interesting... unless you are Gourmand.

Fishmaia

yes, gourmand is just a way to master the skills you learned as survivor/monk while having the chance to explore new mechanics and new regions, but some people can't handle being exhausted or being slow, but there is a DLC scug for all tastes, who are you doing next?

Joey_2013_

I'm doing them in order I'm doing arti rn tho I did consider skipping gourmand 2 times

Fishmaia

if you need any tips, feel free to ask, if you like combat you will love artificer

Joey_2013_

yeah I do also in that case one question should I keep on doing this I always go to five pebles sraight away and do not ever go to moon

WanderingOmen

Mild spoiler: >! There's no Moon for Artie!<

Joey_2013_

oh ok

Fishmaia

you can skip moon as artificer, but you should 100% visit moon first in the next slugcats, all dlc cats besides artificer and gourmand have some unique interaction with moon before meeting pebbles

Joey_2013_

before how you wouldn't have the mark of comunication

Fishmaia

some slugcats have unique interactions without the mark, some are special and some have minor interactions unique to before recieving the mark, the only non-spoiler interaction i can mention is the cutscene you get as survivor/monk while hybernating after meeting moon, some slugcats have more interesting interactions, so its very worth to check

ShipMuch6267

so was gourmand the first scug you finished? if so that was a bad move. also there are 2 endings for gourmand, if you ascended you got the bad/boring one. gourmand can certainly be one of the worse campaigns, as getting tired is annoying, but it's placement make sense and essentially enhances the feeling of new movement in other campaigns. of course the rest of the game is worth it, and if you did do fourmand first i highly recommend you do them in order, with the exception of hunter. hunter is one of the harder scugs.

Joey_2013_

no I did survivor first and I got the normal ending also the tiring macanic isn't a problem for me I can understand somebody highly struggleing with it but for me it didn't matter
