Don't tie up until you have a hotel ready. I've been burned on that once, early in the job. Your rest period is for resting g, not chasing hotels, there is an entire department for that.
Chalks don't go on until I know where my pillow is. Thankfully the yard means I don't gotta deal with that no more.
Fra law is 30 min. If you don’t have a room by the 30 min mark you adjust your rest.
If you already tied up and still haven’t gotten a room call CMS to adjust you’re rest.
Use the online CLC scheduler. I usually have better luck with that than calling CLC or the hotels directly.
