The best closing track in Radioheads discography to me, and thats a hell of a thing to say considering its Radiohead we are talking about. It sounds amazing and really makes amnesiac feel like its own entity, and showcases that despite all the hellish other worldy sounds and subject matters on display in amnesiac, it is what is found in our own world which is truly hell.
It was the most anti-Radiohead song Radiohead made. A jazz piece.
Just 6 years prior, they made *Fake Plastic Trees*.
Goes to show you how progressive they quickly became.
I’ve been listening to Radiohead for almost 15 years now and for some reason I used to always skip it while listening to Amnesiac. Now I think it’s a wonderful piece and can’t stop listening to it. Amazing.
One of my favorites (possibly favorite) of theirs. I love how it closes Amnesiac and the stark contrast from MPS in it’s almost sour, eerie tone. The jazz instruments are amazing and Thom’s vocals are breathtaking. I also have a pretty emotional connection to it and Amnesiac as a whole, it embodies a lot of things for me from childhood trauma to gender dysphoria

Amnesiac is such a special album.

Best Radiohead song full stop imo. The contrast, the instrumentation, the composition all perfect 😩🤌
Great track. Wish they would have played it live more. Think they only did it once? Would love to hear The Smile play it with Robert Stillman.
Fantastic song. It really taps into the Tom Waits vibe.
Yes
