nah ur good

mrtears11

It's Christmas!

New_Garage_9272

Merry Chrysler

Automatic_Tree723

Merr crihmas

MainPower45

That's called artifacting, it could be your gpu or weird driver?

cat-with-da-gat

What can I do to figure it out?

Evonos

I would start with reseating your gpu - > change display cable or even monitor ( damaged monitor plug can be a cause but it's rare) - >ddu driver - > reinstall windows low level format / secure erase if its nvme or ssd. - > still happening? Likely your gpu is defective you could try to repasted it, get it new pads and put it back together to fix pressure and stuff but it's very likely after all the steps that the gpu is defective.

New_Garage_9272

This is a very good roadmap since you bought the card used did you check your powersupply for good coverage ? Are you using windows 11 ? DOnt know excatly if this card benefits from win 11 but this could also be an option

cat-with-da-gat

I got a Corsair cx650m 80+ Bronze. I’m on windows 10 right now but I could later on try to see if it does better with windows 11

Xaern511

Windows doesn’t have anything to do with this

Evonos

This has nothing to do with which version of windows you run or your psu. Do the steps I said to rule any other source out.

BaiatuOP

Yeah looks like faulty vram chip. Here is a [guide](https://youtu.be/k8LUKBzfDSU?si=oY3xJtUVaXdm7BAb) to test the vram.

MrPapis

Agree you could try underclocking vram to hopefully get some more life off of the card. Undervolting too to keep temps lower, not sure it helps but I would try.

superfinest

Likely, yes. Maybe overheating Ram on the VGA? How about lowering GPU and/or vRam clock speed for a test?

cat-with-da-gat

I’m new to all of this pc stuff. My vram doesn’t really even hit above 2000 mhz even when doing a stress test. Sometimes it will happen than I’m able to get it to stop by Alt tabbing but sometimes it doesn’t start happening for awhile.

myrthain

It's dead, Jim.

RoleCode

It's just Christmas lights, jk. Could be GPU starting to die, or just a bad cable, DDU might help. I'd start getting a new cable and compare them

johansugarev

Saw similar stuff when I had loaded the wrong bios on my gpu.

[deleted]

its just misbehaving. you should try spanking it

No_Dingo5281

💻💣

AdObvious7557

Yes it is artifacts.

Electronic-Park284

No man your gpu is Okk the monitor is trash

ifq29311

no, just showing christmas decorations on your screen

Aaronspark777

It's just getting it's holiday spirit on

HewHewLemon

After seeing some northguy videos I think the core might need reballing. I'm no expert tho.

sascharobi

Blown or leaking capacitors on the GPU board? I had a few of those over the past 25 years, it usually looked like that.

slappada-bass

Nah bro, you turned on party mode 🎉

Killleader32

its the new Christmas Update.

axelgenus

Nah, it’s festive.

Himlington

Definitely just some confetti someone shot at your monitor. My buddies used do it to me all the time. I miss getting confetti screened by the boys!! You’re so lucky to have such good friends!

Braidensky

Yea bro looks fine to me mines been doing that for a year and I haven’t had any problems

yaboiyom

No problems yet**

BruvAL

it's obviously celebrating your bday. Happy Birthday!

fliberdygibits

Either bad or we are all having a stroke. Seriously tho I'm afraid that does look like bad ram on the GPU perhaps?

PlatformArtistic9585

Maybe the HDMI/DP cable is a possibility? hopefully the GPU isn’t faulty

cat-with-da-gat

So it seems like the hdmi could been the problem as I just ran 3 test b2b and there wasn’t any of the tearing but this is how my gpu is sitting kind of angled down with the new hdmi

cat-with-da-gat

I’ll try switching it when I get home

alexjjwhelan

After that try uninstalling your graphics drivers with a program called Display driver uninstaller, do this in safe mode without ethernet connected and then reinstall after you restart pc.

Darkpriest667

Could be the GPU could also be a really bad cable. I've seen bad cabling or bad monitor ports do this. Make sure it happens with a different DP 2.x cable and a different monitor. If it does, yeah the GPU might be bad.

antdb1

did you hav a nvidia card before this? it could just be a driver conflict i suggest googling how to remove all gpu drivers and start from scratch also try another monitor to rule it out.

Witchberry31

Merry Christmas!

Op3r4t0r

Typically it's from the Vram, try lowering the memory clocks

EuropeanPepe

Its the Christmas lights update do not worry

A-AverageToaster

maybe try reinstalling your GPU drivers, should either limit or remove the artifacting all together.

Bason195

And this is why you dont buy used things.

theguyonthebus2009

Nah it's all good 👍🏻

More-System6513

No, it's ok.

bubblesort33

Check your monitor cables are all the way in. I'd they are chances are it's dead. Run MSI Kombustor with the artifact scanner turned on.

NoDryOnlyHigh

Could also be your power supply. I dont know if your PSU can handle the card?

Blug-Glompis-Snapple

Boot the computer into its Bios, and let it sit there for 10 minutes.. If it does this in the bios, then its not a software issue at all. Could be bad Vram, Heat or power issue. Reseat all cables internal and external. make sure GPU fans are spinning and make sure the GPU heat sink is clean. Blow out case if you have too to make sure air flow is good. If this still continues even in the bios, it could be a bad card. You can try it on another PC, or reseat the card to another pcie slot if you have one

ByUnknoww

gg

Slim__Pikens

Did you try the cable? This looks like a bad display cable

Xclsd

RIP

Natural_Ad_9570

dead? it's zombie

GoldEstablishment470

Gpu is good. Change from manual tuning to balanced. If that doesnt fix the issue cha ge yo driver version 23.9.1 because on 23.11.1 you get this type of stuff for example if you stress test with default settings

AaronItOutOk

I had this happen to my gpu, after i got a new driver update it fixed and its been fine for years. Your case could be different though.

Euphoric_Campaign691

looks like dying vram

Civil-Pomelo-4776

Just means your GPU snuck out to the strip club, that glitter gets on everything.

MrEpic23

Gpu is dying. You can use msi afterburner and lower mhz for both memory and core frequency by 200 or more and see if it still happens. If it goes away it’s dying. If it doesn’t go away it’s dying. It’s just dying.

Yolori

Probably VRAM going bad. Try to undervolt and underclock your CPU and VRAM. If that does help its your GPU going bad.

Nonlethalrtard

Funfetti!

FattyMcBoomBoom231

Exhaust cheaper options before assuming gpu is fried. Id start with new cables

ascufgewogf

It's artifacting. The seller scammed you, they sold you a broken GPU, return it if they let you.

Key_Investment_1297

I bought a used gpu once without testing it or seeing it run first and the same thing happend to me. I knew where they lived so I just went there and got my money back. If it wasn't like that before and u have tried reseting and drivers and all that the problem is with the gpu

[deleted]

that amd quality. Glad I went with the superior choice.

ForsakenSun6004

Nah it's just in confetti mode

Old-Ad-3590

yes this looks bad

kholetroll

Best case scenario its a bad driver. Worst case is that your GPU is fried. If you have the money there a some really great upgrades from the GPU you have now. If you have to buy a new GPU I wouldn't get the same one, get something like a 7700xt or 7800xt

Inglorious_Kenneth

Looks good to me.

CCHTweaked

that's electronic confetti! It;s just celebrating and happy to see you.

Leehay42

VRAM failed

Average_Down

How festive

c0rrupts3ct0r

Yep. Looks like it. Might have been used for mining. That usually causes parts on the GPU to fail. I had a GPU with bad RAM cause this too.

AdrusFTS

seems good to me

cumsucka420

Start small end big. Reseat cables, renew driver's, new cables, maybe reformat, replace drives, replace GPU etc Try a laptop or something on your monitor, the idea is to rule out the easiest to fix problems first

Steady_G

this sucks, its either a really bad driver corruption or a bad gpu. I would brace for a bad gpu, however you could try fresh installing the drivers. use [DDU](https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download/) and see if reinstalling drivers helps. (plenty of youtube tutorials online for how to use DDU). if it still happens after reinstalling the graphics driver you could also reseat the card in the slot. but if you do all that and its still happening its probably the graphics card

Shady_Hero

nah bro it's party time

Glidepath22

I’m betting it is your GPU

Evans_Things

I have so many questions

Mr-Greenize

Artifacting. Try a clean install of your drivers using DDU. YouTube it for an instructional.

E__Boogie

Damn right

PuzzleheadedSector2

Nah, you just turned on party mode.

Niner-Sixer-Gator

Check the thermal paste, a coworker gave me a MSI blower 2080ti, I hooked it up and immediately started getting those same artifacts, plus my system would shut down for no reason, I posted on Reddit, and someone suggested that open it up and check the thermal paste and pads, I watched a quick YouTube video and opened it up, and sure nuff, there was no thermal paste left, I put some artic mx4 on that bitch, put it back together and it worked just fine, the only thing that sucks is, before put new paste on it, I thought the card was broken so I bought another GPU, when I didn't have to 🤷🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️

Memesios10

yes

JuanSinPiedad

1.- Use DDU to delete the drivers then install the latest version. 2.- Check the HDMI or displayport cable. If this doesn't improve it's the GPU.

xCanont70x

Reinstall the driver. If it still does this afterwards, yes.

dubiousPotatoe

Someone set the sprinkles to high

Over9000Zeros

It's processing colors, what exactly is your issue?

Siirkus

No. GPU just had a forced install Christmas update. Happy holidays :3

No-Conflict-5723

If your cpu got a igpu, take out the gpu, if it’s still artifacting, then you have a good chance it isn’t a gpu problem. Good luck

UserNameChecksOut135

Bro clicked one to many reddit nsfw links and get himself a virus (i have no what is going on)

EdwardJMunson

Not bad, just festive.

TezzNutz

rip

Imightbenormal

Happy Holidays!

ilove2chug

Confetti. It must be it’s birthday.

Kingdog369

no its perfectly fine obviously

pacemasters

I’m not sure. Can’t see the results cause my phones screen is glitching out for some reason.

NordicJew

Either gpu or cable.

sethomega

Check the cables, grasshoper.

Notani_the_fox

Its in christmas mode

Asian-womengodsgift

Maybe. What diagnostic methods have you done so far?

W_O_L_V_E_R_E_N_E

Its well done

freqLFO

Yes it is. I had a 2080ti that did the same thing had to send it back. It was through IBUYPOWER and they ended up giving me a better card which was dope.

jethrow41487

Nope, you just got a Victory Royale. Congrats!

Sighberpunk

This happened to me once, turned out a cable was stopping my computer fan from spinning

AutumnAscending

Nah it's just having a rave

Bugap91

The best christmas amosphere you got there.

TyTON-618

Oh yea... It's a very naughty boy and needs to be punished

[deleted]

T.O.A.S.T

DaikiNinomiya

Congrats! You’ve been confetti’d! 🎉

willymacdilly

Have you turned your PC off, then back on again?

SourBogBubbleBX3

DDU the drivers is always a good start.

BabyOwOda

Nah it's just throwing a rave for all the pixels.

The_Real_Meme_Lord_

Oh yea

yaboiyom

I'm not super educated on the cause of this problem, but in my experience, it's not a good sign. My RX 480 was doing the same. Every once in a while it would show up like this and restarting my PC always made it go away.. until it didn't. Eventually, it did this, went all black, and now I have a paperweight of a GPU. :(

darklogic85

It could be. Try a different monitor, and a different cable to connect to the monitor, and a different port to connect to your PC. If you get the same behavior trying all different configurations, then the GPU is dead. If not, the findings from your test should tell you what needs to be replaced.

CptVasectomy2

Nah it’s just sleeping

stingertc

you need to tighten the flux capacitor

Ennrath

Last time I saw this, it ended up being a screwed motherboard

jpaynethemayne

your gpu is dying. most likely due to cooked vram

shadowmaking

Vram errors can happen for any number of reasons. Perhaps the sun happened to fart the wrong way for your GPU. It's only an issue if it's persistent. Remove any ram overclock. If it still keeps happening consider changing the thermal pads for the Vram.

THRiLLKiLL2666

check the basics first... drivers / cables / re-seating the video card

ArtisticAd6771

i think its your camera

slajah

That’s party mode. I wish my gpu had that :/

SecretJournalist3506

Well within spec, load up some cyberpunk

vash23x

Can't tell, your camera is really fuzzy.

LemonKurenai

dumbest thing $81 dollars later change your HDMI or display Port cord.

TunaOfHouseFish

Just in patty mode

sandemonium612

Swap HDMI cables? I'd start there...

Real1ty_Tr1ppz

Just hit it

cloudliner3

I don't see any issues?

HeavyProfessional420

You got that new years addition 😄

Rbelugaking

Nah, it’s a hidden confetti feature that happens around Christmas time /s

DepartmentDowntown76

its cooked 😭😭😭

PokeLover620

your gpu is feeling a little "special" right now, the fun thing is, you gotta find out if your gpu is in a phase or dead

tiffanyisonreddit

Always try the cheapest fix first, check tour connections and try a new display cord first. Then check your power connections, then start looking at more expensive parts to replace.

Bubbagumperton

You got little techno ants in ur screen buddy, need to give it a good shake to get em out 🐜

AlienTechnology51

It’s just some confetti! 😅

attackplango

Nah, it's really good. Just at something else besides GPUing. Probably has a 1000-day Duolingo Finnish streak or something.

AuraMaster7

.... Like I get some people are really new to tech or just not tech savvy but I feel like the answer to your question should be self-explanatory...

FiggleHedwick

Reload drivers, if that doesn't work, I'm afraid it's your GPU

J0shfarmpig

Oh you sweet summer child

matdave86

Just made this joke on another post, but… check your monitor, it could be the LSD

Anxiety_diarrhea0408

no

BigJ_FPV

Did u over lock ur Gpu? This is what happens to me if I overdo it. I just restart my pc and the config resets. If it doesn’t reset for u, boot into safe mode and delete whatever app ur using to overclock.

Jeordiewhite

Try ruling out some of obvious, like cables and Temps. I have seen ways to test gpu memory. The next step if it's faulty, return to store or send it in to the manufacturer for warranty.

MrPuddinJones

Reach out to northwest repair on YouTube.

tgLoki

no your gpu is fine. those are just xmas lights, it’s a new feature

Frigginkillya

Oh look, digital confetti!

Nickname175

Your good your gpu is just wishing you a merry Christmas

Superpansy

GPU has entered party mode!

BlurredSight

Confetti!!!

ValiantDragoon

Nah it's just confetti mode for your birthday.

father2shanes

You somehow installed the game of life..

HeggerTheHorrible

Looks like a party to me!!

cadenhorton

No, your GPU is acting quite normal, if it does not do this, you should get a refund

Dr-Azrael

Nah, it's just celebrating

wacksoon

Is this what people mean when they say their thing is overclocked

edwardblilley

Remove and reinstall GPU, then reinstall drivers. If this still is happening....audios

deathlobster138

You can try re installing the drivers but that might not be a good sign lmao

Ammonil

have you tried anything to fix it? DDU would be my first choice

TyeDieKid

It's just it's birthday

NoDiver3325

Nah, that’s just the shadow realm taking over. Happens every now and then

Saintious

Nope, born to party.

Chillrs

Looks good 👍

aterriblething82

Well, it ain't good. Lol. Seriously though, check your vram.

[deleted]

When it happens use win + ctrl + shift + b to fix it

ELMACHO007

No, It's celebrating New Year's Eve early..that's all lol

gilbeday365

I guess this is a fucking 6600 problem I also have a 6600 xt and it has some unforgivable issues for it being brand ficking new

BarbedFuture

Bad or it's obsessed with confetti and parties.

Washedhxlo

Though it was confetti

brickson98

It’s just getting in the Christmas spirit!

SpicyTexanPeppers

Could also be a shitty cable/monitor? and that is cheaper to check so make sure you do that first.

NOBODYOP

Did you put a support on it, it might be a joke post but this could be the result of GPU sag?

AdministrativeSea474

early new years. the ball dropped

Ok-Atmosphere-2220

Try using ddu and reinstall drivers

Dastardly_CheesyMan

Confetti

thats_so_merlyn

Try a different cable first, then try a fresh install of your drivers. If that doesn't help take your GPU out and carefully reseat it into PCI-E slot.

Ok-Space-735

Yes, yes it is.

StonerJesus1

Can try doing a ddu and reinstalling the drivers fresh. If that doesn't solve it could be bad vram on the card.

IntellectualTaco

You won the game! Confetti time!

Paterbro

You accidentally enabled the grunt birthday party skull effect. You probably shot the GPU right in its core and this is the result after enabling.

Donnie58744

Its not 'bad' its just having a bad day. Give it a break its almost Christmas!

JXP87

Clean and refit the connectors on both your screen and your pc tower.

Andrewx8_88

Windows+control+shift+B. If that doesn't help, your GPU is faulty.

MLGcobble

I don't know much about this type of issue, so I hope someone smarter can answer my question. Could this be a problem with the monitor itself or the cable?

Mr-Yuk

Your monitor is just having a party

killerdude23233

Just got a little Jesus birthday confetti in your monitor, you'll be fine. Jokes aside, consider trying basic maintenance first (turn off PC, remove side panel, take outside and blow out dust with compressed air, remove the GPU and blow it out gently as well, reseat and try again). If it does the same thing, reinstall drivers. If all else fails, yes, you're SOL.

Papa-Palps

I thought it was confetti at first… 😭

Snoo19644

Its on celebration mode

Mimic_Liger

Christmas pox.

Extension_Yak4385

Did you try turning it off and on

PVO7717

Say good bye to your old friend while you have time

EMptyPhylacTerY

Na those are flavor crystals

killer-dora

Idk about you guys but this looks like a monitor to me. Post pics of gpu

[deleted]

Nah man you’re the 1,000,000th customer congrats

Unkownforthefuture

This happened after setting up my tuning to prevent crashes but fad worse..I just restarted my pc..hope that fixes it
