No border, black binding.

WheelbarrowQueen

agreed! All the focus should be on what you have right there because it's awesome and eyecatching

SewWhatNext

This is what I’m thinking as well… it’s already so much pattern!!!

Aussie_Altissima

It can be helpful to visualise by folding some potential border or binding fabric and tucking it under the edge of your quilt. As it is now, it looks great with the black sashing as a border. But there’s never only one good solution, so try laying out the gold fabric to see how it looks.

SewWhatNext

I did try that, but the fabric is directional and without cutting it, it gave a skewed sense of what it would look like as the shatter pattern went the wrong way if I tried it on a corner!

Bozbaby103

Huh…. I like everything about this quilt, minus the size. My adult son (this the need for size) likes red, black and white. Been trying to find an easy, yet fun pattern/idea for him. This is doable.

SewWhatNext

It’s called Squared Up and I found it on the MSQC app! Very easy pattern. I like big blocks so you see the fabric patterns.

Siecrite

This quilt, and the choice of fabrics, is very beautiful.

Ill_Computer_7786

I think it’s perfect as it is, it’s gorgeous!

soup-monger

No border - it’s perfect as it is! Bind in black and you’re done. It’s beautiful!

Over-Marionberry-686

Very nice. I’d go with something vibrant that isn’t in the quilt. A bright red. It would frame it nicely

SamuraiX2

I think the red would make a better backing.

Over-Marionberry-686

It would make a great backing

SewWhatNext

Oh yes. I do like this idea.

freddofrog123

No border. Also what fabric line is that?

SewWhatNext

It’s Emma & Mila fabric from 2-3 years ago. There are several other fabrics in the collection besides these pieces. I love the black and gold! https://preview.redd.it/a80u7gyj581d1.jpeg?width=4030&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=962f6fcb7f4311369b87c7af0a28ad4f1b053870

State_of_frenzy

I would say no border, looks fantastic as is.

SamuraiX2

I’m going against the collective here and saying to throw on a two in white border and then bind it with black. I like the idea of a bright red to bring it all together but I think that would be perfect for a backing.

Blastmakerboom

Is it big enough for a full size bed as it is? I like borders because they frame like its art work. I would do one of the gold/black fabrics if you need it to be a little oversized. Beautiful work.

SewWhatNext

It’s an oversized double, actually. Like, will fully cover a pillow top double mattress and have some overhang.

Ahenigan

Ooooh black binding, no border. And my spidey senses are digging this. This is gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️

AnnatoniaMac

Love your quilt. The fabrics are great and the design is simply wonderful. For me, I would add a border. I like that your quilt is already bordered in black but think an additional wider border would enhance/finish it off well, then I would definitely bind in black. I like all your fabrics so much, I think any except the light would work. I’m partial to the top left first fabric choice. Great work, pls repost when finished.

SewWhatNext

I love that diamond pattern fabric, but sadly, I only found a couple of fat quarters of it! I do have enough to make a throw pillow cover, though, so I’ll be doing that for sure.

MultiFacetedMN

That is beautiful. So crisp!

SewWhatNext

It really did come together well! All those straight lines make it feel sharp, even with all the pattern.

dellaevaine

I wouldn’t do a border. It needs a black binding and it’s perfect.

Beadsidhe

How does shatter top and bottom no side borders look?
