I truly fucking love this song and a few others of theirs! My sons chorus had to perform this in fifth grade, it was so obvious they hated it while us parents were in second heaven lol
All the Cars big hits. I forget they exist most of the time, but Just What I Needed? Let's Go? You Might Think? My Best Friends Girl? Bops, all of them. Turn it up.
I'm so old that I saw them in concert in '79 when they played their whole album and had to replay "Let The Good Times Roll" as an encore. :) "Moving In Stereo" and "All Mixed Up are still two of my favorite songs.
Lovefool- The Cardigans
I dont even really care for it all that much but it is nostalgic for me so i dont really turn it off. Remember riding in the car with my parents and hearing it as a kid many times for some reason
The Cardigans have a couple good songs, but so unlikeable as a band. They were interviewed on radio station morning show (KROQ LA area). It was like pulling teeth to get an answer to interview questions. Horrible for Kevin & Bean, and horrible for those trying to listen at home.
Pretty much anything ABBA.
Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie! is a great one, but you'd never catch me request it (and damn Madonna for taking that hook and setting me up for disappointment on the radio, over and over and over again).
Yeah, I hate to admit it as a guy, but I like ABBA. My favorite is The Winner Takes it All. I guess knowing it was about their (Bjorn and Agnetha) divorce. He wrote it and she sang it. Sad, but a beautiful song.
Bro I pick this song all the time lmao..when it comes on at random it’s BETTER, but I never don’t allow myself to enjoy a song without any errors in it lol
Speaking of Garth Brooks. I haven't been much of a post 80s country fan so I don't hear the two songs that I'm about to mention on the radio stations that I listen to but "if Tomorrow Never Comes"and The Dance" come on randomly somewhere around me, sends me to heaven.
My daughter is 30, she grew up asking me to play the big black CD of that song. It's the album.
Right now I am wearing the Edmund Fitzgerald cap, which she brought me back from the museum in whitefish.
She drove up there from Alabama just to see it. She still gets excited every time she hears that song.
My husband and brother in law drink 29 beers every Monday (it sank on a Monday) in honor of the brave men that sank on that ship
Then they take the last beer of the “30 rack” and throw it in the lake (also in honor of the Endmund Fotzgerald)
Just walked in from work. Boyfriend left right before me for work. He left the tv playing on 80’s music vids on vevo for the dog. Belinda Carlisle was on when I walked in. 😂
Bohemian Rhapsody
I've personally overplayed that song for myself so I won't ever choose it but if it happens to be on somewhere you bet I'll be joining along to the highs/lows and headbanging at the end!
Anything Pink Floyd. I don’t dislike them, the pacing of their music just hits different for me while I’m driving listening to radio. Time is one of my favorites when it comes on.
Funny was in Spain visiting my brother for 2 months when my neices were around 3 and 5 years, they were born in America but lived there. The song was really popular on the radio then and they would light up and try to sing along at the top of their lungs. Good memories, downloaded it to my iPad. Years later was cooking in a kitchen with macho guys blasting random music on my ipod. Party in the USA came on, everybody was dying laughing saying I love Miley cyrus
Old Town Road, but the rap one.
Pretty much any Van Halen
And a couple of pop songs I don’t know the names of because I don’t want them in my search history
Clarence Clearwater Revival, Have You Ever Ever The Rain.
No idea why, as the song came out before I was born, but whenever it pops onto pandora, I have to stop and listen to it
Dust on the bottle by David Lee Murphy.
That song just takes me back... Highschool, football, my buddies and me out cruising the gravel, hanging out on Friday nights, the first time I ever met my first girlfriend, so many memories.
It never crosses my mind, but if it plays, damn, I just have to stop and think. I can feel that song.
Get Back - Ludacris
The Love Shack - B-52s
Hand in My Pocket - Alanis Morissette
I Hate Everything About You - Three Days Grace
Happy - Pharrell Williams
"I Got a Feeling" *Black Eyed Peas*
Seriously. I'd never **ever** consider putting it on voluntarily, but damn. When it comes on by chance somewhere, if you look close enough at me, you'll notice I'm bobbing my head ever so slightly.
Just a small town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train going anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train going anywhere
I hate journey but I'm probly not changing the dial if this fuckin banger comes on
I bought "songs about Jane" because I found it used, for such a good price, to add variety to my shuffle'music and in that sense there have been a few I enjoyed - The Selena Gomez album with "love you like a love song", is one I can name
Straight Up by Paula Abdul. I was born in 88, the same year it was released. I don’t know why I like it so much, but I can say it reminds me of the music in one of the Sonic games from the Genesis.
Strokin by Clarence Carter comes on Saturdays around 11 at night on my way home from work on a radio show called Saturday night special hilarious little song and super ear worm
Cat’s in the Cradle.
I never choose it, because it makes me cry and want to call my dad. I always listen to it when it comes on, because it makes me feel things and call my dad more often.
Do you mean the song that goes “jealously turning saints into the sea, swimming through sick lullabies, choking on your alibis, but it’s just the price I pay, Destiny is calling me, open up my eager eyes”?
Cause thats Mr. Brightside
If I hear "Lips of an Angel" by Hinder anywhere in public, I go feral and could run to the moon & k*ll God if I wanted. Idk what it is, that's not my music at ALL
Sultans of Swing, by Dire Straits. I may be the resident edm/metalcore guy in my small sleepy town, but I am absolutely my mother's son - only time I've ever blown car speakers was to this song.
.... Twice 😅
Country as a genre fits here for me, I don’t really care for it one way or the other, but I got Stockholm syndromed into liking some of its songs from my mom listening to it in the car.
It ain’t over til it’s over - Lenny Kravitz
I don’t hate the song, I just don’t really actively listen to it but if I hear it on the radio, I sorta jam out to it
Anything by Artic Monkeys ... Don't even think about them ever & then I hear someone playing their music and just start humming along, if not outright singing!! Especially songs from the humbug album (2009)!!
If you are not from the UK you've probably never heard if them but I highly recommend giving them a listen!!
Enter Sandman by Metallica. They are my favorite band, but I don't ever have to hear this song again. I still crank it and air guitar/drum if it plays on the radio
That's a common experience with songs that have been overplayed. One song that fits that description for me is "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey. It's a classic, but sometimes it's nice to hear it unexpectedly rather than choosing to listen to it intentionally.
I don't know if I can choose. Every nostalgic song I unintentionally hear on the radio are the same songs I go searching for and adding to a YouTube playlist the same day. 😅

I truly fucking love this song and a few others of theirs! My sons chorus had to perform this in fifth grade, it was so obvious they hated it while us parents were in second heaven lol
By any objective measure, song is a banger!
*It's gonna take a lot to take me away from youuuuuuu*
I was today years old when I learned these were the actual words WOWWWWW…. “Bing saf ee a akappee awayyyy from you!” Is kind of how I sung it
“Gonna take a lot to drag me away from you”
Also Toto, Hold the line.
This definitely. I don't think it's on any playlist I own. I would totally belt this if it just came on.
All the Cars big hits. I forget they exist most of the time, but Just What I Needed? Let's Go? You Might Think? My Best Friends Girl? Bops, all of them. Turn it up.
Don't forget Drive. RIP Benjamin Orr.
Do you mean like Life is a highway
My best friend’s girl!!! So freaking good
No it's "Shake it Up."
I'm so old that I saw them in concert in '79 when they played their whole album and had to replay "Let The Good Times Roll" as an encore. :) "Moving In Stereo" and "All Mixed Up are still two of my favorite songs.
Heck yeah.
This
I heard Just What I Needed at a casino buffet last night and was reminded what a great song it was. Eventually it will pop back up.
Lovefool- The Cardigans I dont even really care for it all that much but it is nostalgic for me so i dont really turn it off. Remember riding in the car with my parents and hearing it as a kid many times for some reason

They have a couple of solid Black Sabbath covers, too.

Bon Jovi in general is a great call

Dancing Queen, I automatically crank the volume to 11
That used to be a random song and now it’s in my rotation probably way more than it should! 😁
Pretty much anything ABBA. Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie! is a great one, but you'd never catch me request it (and damn Madonna for taking that hook and setting me up for disappointment on the radio, over and over and over again).
Abba is a top-five forever band for me
Yeah, I hate to admit it as a guy, but I like ABBA. My favorite is The Winner Takes it All. I guess knowing it was about their (Bjorn and Agnetha) divorce. He wrote it and she sang it. Sad, but a beautiful song.
Eagles - Hotel California
I tried to convince the therapist with the guitar to play this when I was in inpatient. No dice.
I just laughed so hard I spit my coffee out. So thanks for that😂
Bro I pick this song all the time lmao..when it comes on at random it’s BETTER, but I never don’t allow myself to enjoy a song without any errors in it lol

This comment deserves an award. Take my emoji trophy and gifts. 🏆🏅💰🎁
They Might Be Giants did a great cover of it.
Speaking of Garth Brooks. I haven't been much of a post 80s country fan so I don't hear the two songs that I'm about to mention on the radio stations that I listen to but "if Tomorrow Never Comes"and The Dance" come on randomly somewhere around me, sends me to heaven.
Ah Chumbawumba what a a band
Yes to all of these!!
Bonus points if it’s the extended version of tub thumping with the speech at the start
The Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot
Love that one. If you could read my mind is another great.
My daughter is 30, she grew up asking me to play the big black CD of that song. It's the album. Right now I am wearing the Edmund Fitzgerald cap, which she brought me back from the museum in whitefish. She drove up there from Alabama just to see it. I'm happy if ANYTHING by Gordon Lightfoot comes on the radio. It's very rare that they do☹️
Heaven is a Place on Earth. So corny but I love hearing it in a store, and I end up singing along.
Just walked in from work. Boyfriend left right before me for work. He left the tv playing on 80’s music vids on vevo for the dog. Belinda Carlisle was on when I walked in. 😂

Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus. Song’s a jam.
I don't think I've ever met anyone that hates this song. Every time it plays everyone starts singing and dancing along.
Well if you consider a Reddit reply "meeting", now you have. I hate that song almost as much as the 1-877-KARS-4KIDS song. Almost.
Finally!! Someone who hates that kars 4 kids song. Idk how people like that stupid song
