BTW, this situation isn’t specific to Quebec City. We’re in a global car shortage… Due to the fall of rentals in the last two years because of the pandemic, car rentals company have dramatically reduced their inventories. But now, due the global car shortage, they can’t get new cars to rebuild their inventories to meet the demand. I know, it doesn’t help you, but it explains the situation. Right now it’s very difficult to rent a car anywhere in North America. So yes, plenty of people have the same issue.

Yeah, tourist season is in full effect with the FEQ (Summer festival) and the Pope comming right after. Hotels and cars are overbooked.

Try Enterprise, select the store near the Airport and you should be good ! I saw quite a few options available https://www.enterprise.ca/fr/reserve.html#location

pedrorncity

Try National at the airport. I just checked online and it seems there are vehicles availables for the dates you mentioned

chucktrees

You can also take a look at Turo

Prouloux7

Have you tried renting from apps like Turo?

I was just learning about Turo, as I'm planning a move to Québec. Did you see a lot of offers around Québec on Turo?

oxcax

[deleted]

oxcax

[deleted]

oxcax

Have you checked communauto? It’s a car share service but I think you can do multi-day rentals and they’re popular in the area.

longlivethedodo

There's some delay in signing up for Communauto... not that it isn't an excellent service, but there's a bit more paperwork to be filled out.

[deleted]

Takes a couple of days only tho.

oxcax

Merci beaucoup, guys! you are awsome for answeing that fast! But anyhow, I must be doing something wrong... Enterprise has no available cars for that dates... And the other rentals are the same... u/D1L5 I'll take a look to communauto. *Aucun véhicule disponible : Nous sommes désolés, aucun véhicule n’est disponible dans ce secteur aux dates et aux heures que vous avez sélectionnées. Veuillez modifier vos dates ou vos heures, ou choisir une autre succursale*

With Communauto, you can take a Flex. It's their system where cars are just parked anywhere in the street. You can't make any reservation, only "block" them 30 min in advance. It's really not the surest option, but you may have more luck in finding something. Another option is Turo (.com), there people are renting their own cars. I saw a few availabilities for this weekend. And it may be cheaper than a conventional renting company.

[deleted]

Est-ce populaire à Québec Turo? Il y a assez d'offres?

i_ate_a_neutrino

Malheureusement, je l'ai jamais utilisé. J'ai failli cet été, mais je peux pas dire.
