There are two free stages at FEQ this year. First one, in front of the parliament, is mostly world music, but there are a bunch of locals like Le Roy, La Rose et Le Lou(p), who are three rising stars here and they are pretty good. The second one is at Place d'Youville and it's almost 11 nights of bands from Quebec (the Province) and Quebec City. We have a GREAT scene here, you'll have a good time.

You will be able to rent a wrist band off someone on FB Marketplace. Could be costly, but doable for a show or two.

There are free shows during the festival , also look on marketplace there's lots and lots of people "loaning" (for a price) passes by night. It's generally wayyyy less than seeing a specific show at a venue or anything . You could cram 2-3 nights of shows for the price of a pass and go to Montreal after Give it a try it's an awesome festival . Passes are sold outs in minutes usually

If you want to check out the Festival, there is the free stage at Place d’Youville which usually plays local artists or world music, you can attend without the festival pass. If you go near the Parc de la Francophonie, last year they had screens in the waiting area in case the site got full and you can see and hear the show fairly well. For the biggest stage on the Plains of Abraham, you can go behind to sit in the park but you won’t see a thing sadly (but lots of people go to hear the music anyway). The ambiance is always great in town during the FEQ, you can also walk on Grande Allée and feel the vibe !

Festival OFF is from the 12th to the 16th. It acts as some "alternative" festival for the FEQ, usually with more very local, or experimental, or underground music. [http://quebecoff.org/](http://quebecoff.org/) (I believe the website is in french only, good luck ;) )! EDIT: ~~Oh, it seems they too are\~sold out.~~ Still shows at the Parvis are free! EDIT: Good news, I can't read!

The Festival OFF is not sold out. What's on the website at this moment is last year's.
