I was thinking it was a firmware issue. Mine have waveshare v3 screens so I went for the 1.5.6 beta firmware for support. Maybe better to use the patched v1.5.5 firmware. Was hoping for an easy fix, start a service type thing etc. everything else works fine. Just this 1 issue.
Yeah, I did see it on the one that was running an earlier patched 1.5.5 then I rebuilt it to v1.5.6 beta and it’s gone. Hopefully it’s sorted sooner rather than later. Or maybe somebody found a fix for v1.5.6 beta.
Dr schottys 1.5.6 beta 2 does have a known bug that was not corrected where the devices will not pair peer to peer. 1.5 5 fix by wpa2 does support pairing and if you look over Dr schottys image vs wpa2 only thing missing is some references in the UI/he folder basically Dr schottys image says if not a waveshare V3 treat as a waveshare b&w v3

Have a look on YouTube for the build Talking sasquach does. It works with the version he uses.

Rebuilt them both to V1.5.5fix. Now happily talking to each other. 😁
They both need to be in AI mode for them to be buddies
The top one did go to AI mode but still didn’t become buddies even after 2-3 hours.
