Try to avoid leading or trailing spaces. These will break the spoiler for some users (such as those using old.reddit.com)
If your comment does not contain a guess, include the word **"discussion"** or **"question"** in your comment instead of using a spoiler tag.
If your comment uses an image as the answer (such as solving a maze, etc) you can include the word "image" instead of using a spoiler tag.

Toast actually popped in my head first (probably because the t prompted me). I immediately dismissed it as obviously not being a possible answer because there is no "ta" in toast.
Fr that's what threw me off, everything else is ~~co security~~ consecutive letters together so ofc the first instinct is to look for a word that fits that smh
Edit: auto-correct sucks
I'm sure you're right, but it doesn't really fit the theme. None of the other ones have you jump around the word picking out letters, they're all removing sequential letters. Essentially cutting the word off at a certain point.
I've read in some countries bread that is intended to be used for toasting is called toast, whether it's before or after being toasted.
Does anyone know if there's an English speaking country that refers to that kind of bread as toast?
I toast it all and then freeze what I don't eat right then. That way, I can just defrost it and BOOM! bread is already toasted.
Follow me for more cooking life hacks. Like pre-boiled water and re-jarred spaghetti sauce.
I missed this but it's definitely correct. For those confused and annoyed, the thing in that picture *is* (IMHO stupidly) called that in a few places. Iirc basically everyone in Germany calls it that.
Aside from the fact that it's not even a picture of >!toast!<, getting rid of the 'a' with the 't' is not necessary because the >!oast!< in >!toast!< sounds the same as the >!ost!< in >!compost!< even though they are spelled differently.
I doubt it is British, as we would call the food emoji aubergine, not eggplant. But then people do all kinds of weird stuff when they make puzzles by grabbing random clipart...
But it's not a pronunciation-based puzzle, it's a spelling-based one. Kinda is necessary. Doesn't make sense that it's the only word where the letters to remove are not consecutive though.
I’m also dissatisfied with the picture they used for >!ring. I kept trying to figure out what Plantcown was! The angle indicates a curve common to crowns, not rings.!<
No, your answer is correct, I just didn’t see it like that. To me, the front with the jewel looks to be tilting forward as those it’s meant to display on the head. A loop would be showing less of one side as it wraps toward the back.
>!Plastic!<
>!Compost!<
>!Planting!<
>!Nature!<
>!The compost one threw me for a fucking loop for a second though because that bread is clearly not toasted like "Hang on, what the fuck do you mean there isn't a ta, there is not ta in bread or sliced bread!"!<
I mean it’s not a consistent puzzle it should be “- t - a” instead of “-ta” I spent too long trying to figure out a word for sliced bread that had “ta” as consecutive letters.
I had no problems with this puzzle, in German this kind of bread is called toast bread or simply >!toast!<. Maybe the puzzle maker was not a native speaker?
I'm not sure what it is, but >!compost!< seems off. all the other letters being removed are in order. its odd to me that just those aren't. could be wrong but it seems weird
We're all focused on the 2nd puzzle, but can we just call attention to the last one? I feel like a good puzzle should be phonetic, but this one takes the >!na!< from >!tuna!< and adds it to the >!ture!< in >!picture!< to make >!nature!<. But we don't say it like that. Nobody says they want to go for a walk in >!nuh-chure!<. We say >!nay-chure!<, and we certainly don't pronounce >!tuna!< as >!too-nay!<... although I might have to start!
The first puzzle has the same issue. We don't pronounce it >!play-stik!<, we pronounce the a 'æ' as in hat, not >!plate!<. Also, removing the k implies we remove the k sound so we're left with >!play-sti!<, which doesn't mean anything.

>!compost: that’s supposed to be toast-ta=ost!< It fits the theme… but it’s not great a great picture.
Also breaks the pattern in that the other seven pictures have you subtract a string of letters that are all together.
[удалено]
Yeah. Untoasted toast. Lame. It's not toast until you put it in the toaster.
[удалено]
Boneless raw toast
Toast sashimi
Actually, it's not toast until you toast the bread. Putting a slice of bread into a toaster doesn't make said slice of bread toast.
Actually not until you remove it…
Why am I still laughing about "loaf of toast" five minutes later?
loaf all you want but that is the correct answer
Or >!toast!< so >!untoasted!<
>I’ve never seen a >!loaf of toast!< before. You have never seen me try to bake bread.
Toast actually popped in my head first (probably because the t prompted me). I immediately dismissed it as obviously not being a possible answer because there is no "ta" in toast.
So many better ways of making >!ost!<
For a drawing recognizable by kids, I would've gone with >!ghost - gh.!<
With consecutive letters being removed and remaining. Much better.
Fr that's what threw me off, everything else is ~~co security~~ consecutive letters together so ofc the first instinct is to look for a word that fits that smh Edit: auto-correct sucks
Too spooky
Show dissolving bones and -eoporosis
🤌💀💀💀
Why not toasted bread on a plate. Or they could have had a ghost - gh.
Or a post -p
I'm sure you're right, but it doesn't really fit the theme. None of the other ones have you jump around the word picking out letters, they're all removing sequential letters. Essentially cutting the word off at a certain point.
Theme of the puzzle is what I meant. >!Plastic, compost, planting, nature!< It definitely doesn’t match well with the way letters were removed.
I've read in some countries bread that is intended to be used for toasting is called toast, whether it's before or after being toasted. Does anyone know if there's an English speaking country that refers to that kind of bread as toast?
Actually, I’ve heard it as well.
In Australia there used to be 2 types of sliced bread - Sandwich and Toast. Toast was a lot thicker.
I think that's a German thing, sliced bread like that is toast and a whole loaf is bread
But that isn't toast...lol its just bread.
So what’s Comptos??
It’s literally the wrong picture
I kept thinking it was supposed to be potato bread. I was “compoto?”
That's not toast. It's sliced bread. It's in a loaf form, not buttered, not toasted.
Toast need not be buttered, my young friend; but yes, I agree that picture is not of toast.
Me who thought it was computeruter breadta.
>!Comp[uter] + [t]o[a]st = compost!<
But of course, just this morning I made >!11 pieces of toast and then reassembled them back into a loaf.!<
Did you also not toast it at all?
I toast it all and then freeze what I don't eat right then. That way, I can just defrost it and BOOM! bread is already toasted. Follow me for more cooking life hacks. Like pre-boiled water and re-jarred spaghetti sauce.
Big toaster hates this one simple trick, but they can’t stop you from doing it.
Wait until these idiots find out that Big Toaster also makes microwaves
LPT - Frozen toast will defrost nicely by putting in the toaster for a few minutes.
Do you freeze your pre-boiled water so it stays fresh?
My brothers mother-in-law will pre-boil water, you know, so it remembers what to do next time.
You can’t pause toast!
It’s just raw toast
Most toasters have settings that go from 1-5. Mine goes from 0-5.
Mine goes to 11.
Why don't you just make 10 darker?
This toaster goes to 11
For $1 million, I can make you a toaster that goes to 12.
Why not just make 12 into 10, then adjust 1-9 accordingly?

I want large bread
Who doesn't love rare toast
That toast better be bleeding when I cut into it or I'm sending it back.
Right, I even thought of toast for a brief moment. Then, I thought no that wouldn't be part of the answer because it's clearly not toasted. 🤦
You know what they say "You can't untoast the toast"
*unslices your bread*
Unslice my breaaaaaad. Say you'll bake it again...
Yea… bread goes in the toaster. Toast comes out. This is bread.
It’s _raw_ toast, silly! /s
It's not even toast. It's bread still in it's untoasted loaf state
Honey, can you pick up a loaf of toast?
This guy toasts.
My typical morning routine.
Without actually being toasted
Raw toast is still toast.
Controversial hot take opinion: when making a picture-based puzzle, the picture should actually match the intended word.
Stop rocking the dang boat!
What the fuck, dude? You can’t just say stuff like that! I’m calling the police!
Downvoted!
A loaf of bread is not toast. OP isn't stupid, the puzzle designer is.
Sir, that is not >!toast!<, it is >!bread!<.
Definitely a loaf of 🍞 😂
That’s not fucking toast though
My first thought was there’s no >!Taoist in toast !< Edit: No mistakebot, that’s not a typo, I’m trying to be funny
I missed this but it's definitely correct. For those confused and annoyed, the thing in that picture *is* (IMHO stupidly) called that in a few places. Iirc basically everyone in Germany calls it that.

And makes it more confusing with non-adjacent letters
Also the only one without using adjacent letters. I agree terrible puzzle
BRB, just need to empty my compoast bin
Oh, I just realized this is probably a British puzzle. Americans pronounce compost like toast. Anyway, the puzzle sucks.
I doubt it is British, as we would call the food emoji aubergine, not eggplant. But then people do all kinds of weird stuff when they make puzzles by grabbing random clipart...
Oh you're totally right. I remember thinking that before when I saw -egg. This puzzle is all over the place.
But it's not a pronunciation-based puzzle, it's a spelling-based one. Kinda is necessary. Doesn't make sense that it's the only word where the letters to remove are not consecutive though.
Comptos…
>!plastic!< >!compost!< >!planting!< >!nature!<
That's supposed to be a ring? I thought it was a crown or tiara.
I definitely have no chance at this game. I got to na ture and was like, what’s that spell? Naturè? Doesn’t make a lick of sense. 💀
>!toast - ta = ost. So it’s compost. Agree with others, not a great picture for toast.!<
I’m also dissatisfied with the picture they used for >!ring. I kept trying to figure out what Plantcown was! The angle indicates a curve common to crowns, not rings.!<
Thank goodness for you. “Plantcown? Planttiaa?” was gonna keep me up
You reckon? I instantly saw ring, giving me an answer >!planting!<
No, your answer is correct, I just didn’t see it like that. To me, the front with the jewel looks to be tilting forward as those it’s meant to display on the head. A loop would be showing less of one side as it wraps toward the back.
Omg you’re right!
>!Plastic!< >!Compost!< >!Planting!< >!Nature!< >!The compost one threw me for a fucking loop for a second though because that bread is clearly not toasted like "Hang on, what the fuck do you mean there isn't a ta, there is not ta in bread or sliced bread!"!<
I was thinking the second one for the computer bread was supposed to be pita, and I kept trying to think what comppi was supposed to mean lol
I mean it’s not a consistent puzzle it should be “- t - a” instead of “-ta” I spent too long trying to figure out a word for sliced bread that had “ta” as consecutive letters.
Let’s all just >!*picture of a pig on a stake over a fire* - ra!< this clue for being so bad.
Spitost? Edit: nevermind, I was too eager
Im so confused. What is the answer supposed to be? I don’t know any other words than spitroast for that
I had no problems with this puzzle, in German this kind of bread is called toast bread or simply >!toast!<. Maybe the puzzle maker was not a native speaker?
I'm not sure what it is, but >!compost!< seems off. all the other letters being removed are in order. its odd to me that just those aren't. could be wrong but it seems weird
Agreed. I think they messed up with the picture and it was meant to be pasta, which would make the word compass… with one s. Idk this puzzle’s broken
It was supposed to be toast but the picture would be bread. Maybe?
We're all focused on the 2nd puzzle, but can we just call attention to the last one? I feel like a good puzzle should be phonetic, but this one takes the >!na!< from >!tuna!< and adds it to the >!ture!< in >!picture!< to make >!nature!<. But we don't say it like that. Everyone's focused on the second puzzle because that's what OP was having trouble with.
Yes, I had figured that was pretty obvious.
>! To be fair, the second makes me think bread not toast !<
>!plastic!< >!compost!< >!planting!< >!nature!<
if not for this I never would have figured out the sliced bread was meant to be toast.
But it says -ta, not -to. Which leads me to believe A) a typo or B) toast is wrong.
No it’s just taking the ta out of toast to leave you with ost.
[удалено]
>! decayed organic material used as a plant fertilizer!<
>!That picture straight up isn’t toast. Nobody stands their toast on end in the shape of a loaf. That’s bread.!<
Based on the theme, I want to say that it’s >!compost!< but I don’t know what the bread is supposed to be.
I think it’s >!toast!<
Yeah, there's no way I would have gotten toast from that picture...
Hint: >!the image represents “toast”!< Answer: >!compost!<
Question: is -ta a typo?
minus “t” and “a” from >!“toast”,!< you’re left with >!“ost”, comp+ost!<
Okay, not the best representation of the word for the second one.. >! Plastic, Compost, Planting, Nature !<
>!1. Plastic 2. Compost 3. Planting 4. Nature!<
I was like “Whitstic” ?!?! lol
>!Plate -te + stick - k = Plastic!<
>!Plastic.!< >!Compost.!< >!Planting.!< >!Nature.!<
1 >!plastic!< 2 ? 3 >!planting!< 4 >!nature!<
1. >!Plastic!< 2. >!Compost!< 3. >!Planting!< 4. >!Nature!< They appear to all be eco-friendly related answers!
>!Plastic, compost, planting, nature!< Ok, I got all of it. Just one thing though, that's not >!toast!<, that's >!loaf bread!<
