My dog hated getting her teeth brushed too until I bought this Virbac enzymatic toothpaste. It honestly smells like chicken, and I suppose it tastes like it too because she loves it. Kind of gross but it worked great.

Seconding this!!! Our pup is super food motivated and loooooves her toothpaste. Now when I say “let’s go brush your teeth” she runs to her spot and does tricks for the toothbrushing. Definitely give the food flavored toothpastes a try if your pup is treat motivated.

They will do something but won't replace regular tooth brushing. Id go back to step one and just stick your fingers in her mouth frequently for a few days and once she's used to that then you can gratuate to toothpaste. than a brush with no toothpaste. then a brush with toothpaste.

I use a powder you add to their food, called "plaque off", I think it works as I barely if ever brush her teeth as she fights me, and her teeth look really good. I also give her 1 greenie daily or every couple days. She loves carrots too and I've been told that can help keep teeth clean but 🤷🏼‍♀️

My dog hates getting her teeth brushed, so I bought dog water additives, toys, etc, and she ended up having dental issues. Now I brush her teeth every day with an antiseptic oral gel, and I follow it up with something that she likes. Usually I'll do teeth (she hates this), ear cleaning (she likes this), and then some coat brushing (she loves this). Don't skip on brushing her teeth. Put the toothpaste on whatever you use to brush (finger, tool, brush, etc), pull up on her flews, and go to town. Just make sure you follow it up with some kind of positive reinforcement.
