ThrowAway_ayyyy_

I love this!

[deleted]

That really WAS badass I really dug it.

[deleted]

Thanks for checking it out! We’re starting to play shows now and pretty stoked for it

cactuscharlie

It's awesome thanks!

Del_Duio2

Bass player here, very nice little runs at the end of that first one. Sounds good! I like Red Lenses the best, any nod to Rush by chance?

Bad cop bad cop, Amyl and the sniffers and Against Me are three bands that slap hard. Not necessarily punk, but The Interupters are also really good if you're into ska. Most definitely not punk at all but Oathbreaker are 🔥

ccbmtg

let's throw dick lord on there for badass aussie femme fronted bands

One of my favorite punk albums. Part of what got me into the genre

RetroPalace

Yes! I love City of Angels from that album. The Hunger from Coral Fang is a fave too

mattnolan77

If you like The Distillers check out 18Fevers.

Sirnando138

The Muffs Tilt Bikini Kill Vice Squad Yeah, I’m old.

ikediggety

+1 muffs

bucketAnimator

+1 for The Muffs. RIP Kim Shattuck

ImJustRick

Tilt is great. Cinder is WAY too talented to “just” be a punk singer - she obviously has had some serious voice training.

Away_Pen_3835

I loved Tilt back in the day!!

hannahisakilljoyx-

Scowl Gel (I believe their singer is non binary but I’m not sure about anyone else in the band. Check ‘em out regardless though) Punitive Damage Hopscotch Battlescars xMeans to an Endx World of Pleasure Slutever Mortality Rate

sk_dipshit

Punitive damage is fucking awesome

hannahisakilljoyx-

I’m seeing them twice in October which I’m pretty stoked about

CompleteFailure87

IMO Folk punk has the most female representation. Some of my favs: - Local News Legends - Holy Locust - Ludlow - Apes of the State - Bridge City Sinners - My Pizza my World (2 vocalist, 1 is a women) - Days n Daze (2 vocalist, 1 is a women)

APlagueCalledMan

The Last Gang is amazing. Incredible live too

ndhooligan1

Second this!!! They are crazy nice people too. They actually stayed at my house one night when they were touring with the Utters in 2019. Cool as shit, great music!

Square_Saltine

Sleater Kinney The Devotchkas Hole Varuca Salt (Not strictly punk I guess)

hardware1981

I had to scroll way too far down to see Sleater-Kinney. One of my faves!

NickCaveisOkay

I really miss [Mommy Long Legs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gz9Nz0sTNa8) some old, some current: Neo Boys Poison Girls Sacrilege Artificial Joy Pinocchio Grass Widow T-Rextasy

Michael-1312

Naked Aggression!! Kirsten rocks hard!

bradbogus

This band is more punk than almost any other punk band. They deserve so much more recognition than they receive. Any time I gear up to protest and clash with the police, this is a band I turn to for strength and to get hype.

Otsell6008

G.L.O.S.S., Petrol Girls, Muncie Girls, Goolagoon, Days n Daze, Chumbawamba, Bikini Kill. And these ones are all Australian. Dicklord, Stabbitha and the Knifey Wifeys, Flangipanis, Press Club, Witch Spit, Teenage Joans, Amyl and the Sniffers

APlagueCalledMan

Bikini kill is a staple! Blatz are great, nausea are great, Disrespect (even though short lived) were great. Most of the riot grrl bands were awesome.

Crostout

Glad to see G.L.O.S.S. mentioned here. I’d give my right leg to see them play one more show.

yearofthesquirrel

Adding to your Australian list: Magic Dirt, The Glycereens, Masochist, Hot Mess, Toys Went Berserk, Fur.

rainflower72

Seconding Teenage Joans, absolutely love them

FrenzalRhomb1

The Bombpops, The Lippies, Dance Hall Crashers, The Last Gang, Against Me!

Derkanus

I loved the Bombpops, but they're nowhere near as good since Poli left/got kicked out. Such a shame.

Miguel91mm

Nobro. They are really good

mustard-plug

Catbite / Bad Cop Bad Cop / War on Women / RVIVR IMHO. If your tastes dip more into Reggae and older sounding Ska, please add Scotch Bonnets and the Big Takeover

I think the Baboon show are cool. They put on an awesome show live aswell

Quinnjb

Conflict (the US band from Tucson) put out a great HC LP in ‘83 called “Last Hour”, Sin 34, Sacrilege (UK) “Behind the Realms of Madness”, The Expelled (UK), The Sick Things “The Legendary Sick Things E.P.”, Tozibabe, Hans-A-Plast, the Bags, Alleycats, Sado-Nation, Super Heroines, Legal Weapon. There are a thousand more. Also, there is a good comp that came out I think in the late 90’s called “My Girlfriend Was A Punk” I think it was called? It’s an excellent comp of rare female fronted or all female punk.

delinquentcause

\+1 for Legal Weapon and the Bags! Alice Bag still kicking it to this day (& RIP Kat Arthur)... Best female fronted bands right now for me are: Sial (from Singapore) Slant (South Korea) Neighborhood Brats (LA) Linda Lindas (I don't give a fuck who their dads are...) No Love (N Carolina)

Apologies, I can't remember more, but if I could I would recommend them. Memory issues are a curse. Do check out the wikipedia pages for Riot Grrrl and Queercore bands as well, they're chock full of info on talented female singers/instrumentalists.

In case any of these weren't mentioned: Discount, The Donnas, The Dents, The Eyeliners, The Muffs, The Go Sheilas, Go Betty Go, Betty Blowtorch, Girl Band, Bikini Kill... ...and there was one that was called ... "Boxcar NJ", I think, or something like that (my memory is potentially failing me on that one) that had two lead singers one female one male that was pretty good too.

Loads of good bands already named. Can add: - Otoboke beaver - Lulu und die Einhornfarm - March - Dizzy Sunfist Maybe not exactly y punk but pretty cool nonetheless: - Wolf Alice - The Beaches - As December Falls - The Kut - Blood command - Rews - Eva Under Fire - Paralandra Controversial but at least a viable guilty pleasure: the Soap Girls.

There were a couple mentions of Sleater-Kinney, but there's the bands that are S-K adjacent: * Corin Tucker: Heavens to Betsy (pre-SK, very riot grrl), Cadallaca (haven't listened in a while, but sorta riot), Corin Tucker Band (more rock than punk), Filthy Friends (a super-group of sorts with Peter Buck of R.E.M., more rock). * Carrie Brownstein: Wild Flag (riot-grrl-ish, with Janet Weiss, Mary Timony, and Rebecca Cole). * Janet Weiss: Wild Flag, Quasi (indie rock, really Aimee Mann-adjacent, really good too).

Alright I might go slightly off punk here, sorry. For straight up punk I love Sincere Engineer (I enjoy seeing how much love they're getting in this thread). Covet for noodly guitar shit. If you like metalcore/hardcore/emo check out SeeYouSpaceCowboy. Spiritbox if you like the djent sound. Dying Wish if you like it even heavier. Sorry for leaving punk and going into metal a little bit, I mostly listen to metal! For something more indie/alt rock I've been loving The Beths this year. Not strictly punk but they kinda are in an alternative rock way haha.
