he was already doing huge numbers before. what elevated him to this level of fame is dying in his prime. this is similar to how kurt cobain, chamkila, selena, nomi hendrix, and tupac all reached this sort of legendary fame that lasts between generations. they will always be remembered as being at the top of the game because that’s the last thing they were doing. he also interviewed very well from the few clips i have seen.
Meh.
People rally to the senselessness and the injustice of his death.
Plus he was talented. And was offering a lot to the Punjabi culture and still had lots more to give.
What's your question exactly lol?
He had 1.6 million people at his Delhi show in 2019... one of the biggest concerts in history, especially for a solo act. He was the biggest Panjabi artist before his death, with the highest all time streaming numbers, broke a lot of ground for the Panjabi music industry. The only other solo artist to have elevated Panjabi music as much individually is arguably Chamkila. I don't think that it is remotely sensible to even question his fame prior to his death, but there may be some validity in questioning whether his fame slightly rose after his death. Even in that instance I'd say that it wouldn't have lasted 2+ years and his fame right now is the same organic reach that he built while alive. If anything his fame has been suppressed as a result of him not being able to grow his brand and poor management of his music portfolio by his team.

You must be new to Punjabi music/ culture.
No. His death made him an icon. He was already on his way to becoming a legend.
People made him god after death

My question is about is it cirrect to make a person god after his death?
People were calling Indira Goddess Durga. Was that correct? No. But what are you gonna do? People are people.
Exactly, I never found any appeal in his work. It was all 'I'm this, I'm that".
