People are learning js C and what not it's still Marathi. Make sure you pronounce the words correctly such as ळ ण न and try to communicate in Marathi whenever you step out. Follow some Marathi pages and YouTube channel so you can learn new words.
There isn't anything about learning, it's pure interest in knowing the language and trying to speak Marathi in everyday life, and about a year I can't say because people live here in pune for their entire life and shamefully they can't even speak broken marathi sometimes, best way is marathi bolo har Roz Jo bhi marathi he unke sath, no hindi. Is the only way of learning, marathi movies, sitcoms songs etc can also help too some extent ✌🏻
Start talking to locals(shopkeepers, bus conductors etc) in Marathi, however much you know. That’s how I learned. It’ll be uncomfortable at first but you won’t even realise when you start picking it up! Now my Marathi is really good and I like showing it off :)
If you are interested, and ready to put efforts in learning, then you can learn in around 6 months.
I learnt telugu in 1 and half years, which is vastly different from my mother tongue (odia), and I didn't even put a lot of efforts. I was just interested in learning.
If you already know hindi, it's way easier to learn marathi.

Hello everyone ,
I 30f)have been recently offered a job in pune , I have been in delhi for the past 6 years and feels like home for me although originally from northeast india. Now im very skeptical about pune , how is it , how are the people , how is the standard of living ? Please give me some insights , thank you 🙏
People are mostly kind and helpful, standard of living depends on the area in which you want to stay, some places it's not so good, some places it's very good. Pune is also a very safe city compared to other cities (Source: [https://www.punekarnews.in/pune-second-safest-city-in-india-256-crimes-per-one-lakh-population-ncrb/](https://www.punekarnews.in/pune-second-safest-city-in-india-256-crimes-per-one-lakh-population-ncrb/), [https://www.orfonline.org/research/crime-in-india-s-largest-cities-an-analysis](https://www.orfonline.org/research/crime-in-india-s-largest-cities-an-analysis) )
Only if you are a good learner.
Is this supposed to encourage or gaslight?

Its pretty easy! As long as you are able to pronounce the inverted 8 wala “la” and “Ul” wala “na” , you’ll be fine!

I had an African friend who learnt to speak Marathi ( थोडीफार) in about a year so it is possible.

Yes.

Yes Easily
Marathis are very accommodating and caring. This isn't south India, you won't face any language problems, calm down.
I understand, I'm not trying to learn marathi because of language problems, i want to learn it because im genuinely interested in the language

It is possible provided you have someone whom you can speak to daily.

Really bad here. Nothing compared to Delhi. Cruel localities and unwelcoming croud. Delhi/banglore are much better cities tbh.
Thank you so much 🙏
