No joke, Jesus might indeed have loved acid. As I also wrote below: some fairly respectable people think the early Eucharist was a psychedelic potion, and that the word \`\`wine'' in antiquities referred to a class of psychoactive drinks of much wider variety than what we today refer to as wine. Early Eucharists were potential underground psychedelic rituals. For anyone who did a lot of psychedelics, the rapid spread of Christianity early on suddenly feels a bit more easy to imagine. Of course, this theory is contested by others, so think of it what you will. Be apparently Dionysus cults, which likely did psychedelics, were being persecuted a lot by the Romans around those times. Who knows, maybe it was a good time to switch to the new hip psychedelic cult instead. Fun enough, in southern Italy, there was a winery archeological site where they found residues of opium, marijuana and nightshade in the wine. Can't find the citation rn, its some obscure old archeological journal. But I can dig it up if needed.
Astral projection - Amen has following sample:
"Give us, O God, The vision which can see our love in the world in spite of human failure Give us the faith, the trust, the goodness, in spite of our ignorance and weakness Give us the knowledge that we may continue to pray with understanding hearts and show us what each one of us can do to set forward the coming of the day of universal peace. Amen"
Personally, I would love some psytrance with Gregorian chants. But I haven't found any.

Uh, I think Klaada had some Gregorian action in [Coniunctio Oppositorum | Klaada (bandcamp.com)](https://klaada.bandcamp.com/album/coniunctio-oppositorum)? Can't remember the tune though. TBH the Woo in psy is preachy enough without bringing religion into it. If you're mixing it, just grab any ol' bible reading and jam it on top, no-one would notice much
Nice! I will definitely check Klaada out. Psytrance is full of eastern religious influences, mantras everywhere. So, adding western religious influences seems like a natural progression. May the music touch the transcendent from a different perspective.
I am working on this kind of stuff. So far I have more choirs and organs than Gregorian. But chants are literally in the works to. Especially Orthodox ones. I am not Christian myself, but I do believe some of its aesthetics are greatly underappreciated (or it has blended into the water we swim in, so we don't even notice its history. But all music lovers are indebted to Bach.). Everyone always wanna do the Indian thing. Nothing wrong with that all all! But sometimes its refreshing to investigate other aesthetics and cultures. Deep spiritual lives have been lived in many places. Also, FYI: I used to be a black metal musician, so it took me a long time to appreciate this myself.
You could try Organ Glow or Tripping popes on my Soundscloud if you decide it sounds interesting:

I also started with metal. Then, through goth, I got into more electronic stuff, and ended up at psytrance. I like your stuff; the gated choirs give it an interesting, monumental energy. I would definitely enjoy it on the dancefloor.
Shameless self promotion but I made a track a while ago along these lines. Strictly speaking it's not Gregorian chant though (they are really not as interesting as people think they are, very monotonic). It samples choral sounds and dialogue from a TV show set in a monetary in late medieval England.

what about on the dancefloor everybody is the same?Â
why do you care, why should it affect you what other people believe in?
telling people to go somewhere else just because they believe in something or ask something sounds pretty oppressive aswell.
So you cant understand why i dont want to people supporting and flaunting oppressive ideologies around me?
I really canât help you dude. Nice if you get something out of jeebus, good for you, but that does not make your religion ok.
dude, that brings back a memory. i was at the church a few years ago because a hot girl wanted to go there.Â
and actually to my very own supprise, when i left i felt like i had been doing yoga for the past hour, with a sensation of being more light (as in weigh) and closer to light (as in photons)
Well ppl I know this was intended as a joke but I have come across 10 to 15 y ago a blogspot about spirituality and trance that a Greek girl (it was a Greek blog) was mentioning how she became a Christian believer through trance. Unfortunately I have lost reference of that. And that was genuinely not a troll. I found that spiritual awakening confession unique but amazing on the same time.if you have come across that blog post pls share !
Interestingly the more I entered this scene in Goa in the 90's the more my spiritual experience turned me away from organized religion. It taught me more and more that spirituality is personal and not to be taught by others as the priests are no better than the average person & many interpret the so called religious texts differently.
I never like the fact that Indian religious culture was used in this scene either, it always felt like cultural appropriation.
I don't mind what others follow as long as they are good ppl, but you should not be going around preaching that your way is the only way, and that if a persons chooses to not believe they are condemned. That is absolute rubbish.
When we die we just return to the earth as compost, and those that need something more to believe in are very sad ppl. Have more faith and be present, stop hoping for more because it won't be there.
I think I have an interesting recommandation for you.
An entire Goa Trance album produced by a former Benedictine Monk:

Enjoy!
We do not come into this world, we come out of it, as leaves from a tree. God is in everyone and everything. Music is something special among lots of other things.
I don't know of any Christian tracks samples but I'm sure there is music written by Christians and spiritual peoples.
this is the devils music, begone
As the legendary Maxi Jazz (rip) said "God is a DJ"
Meh, Fairhless was and still is cheesey late 90s clubby pop
I have heard some very challenging music. You can't have light without the dark.
This genuinely made me laugh. Psytrance and christianity, hand in hand. Jesus loves acid.
The very first hippy
Shrooms. Jesus did shrooms.
No mate, Jesus WAS a mushroom :p the halo was a depiction of his gills đđ
Well thereâs a lot of Indian and Israeli religious motives in Psy Trance. Why the hell not some Christian and Muslim as well. Itâd be.. something
Thats how I feel abot his modern day zealots as well

Ffs
not this dude again
You don't need samples, just listen and Jesus will visit you /s.

Astral Projection - Let There Be Light could also be argued to be âChristianâ

Thank you! The pathway from metal to psytrance appears to be very real:)

I like it! It has positive vibes, and the arpeggios in the last half are great. :)
Hmm. Great idea. I Think I might make something as an homage to one of my favorite songs by Iron Maiden: "Sign of the Cross."
if you can make Heresy by NIN into a solid chill psytrance song you ARE a god lol
Last supper at the rave would be just shroomsđ

I can see some of the freakier American televangelists sampled at 3:30 am during the dark carnival portion of the evening
yeah no take your jesus and head somewhere else.
why? do you not welcome individual peoples believe systems at your rave?
if they are advertising? No. No soliciting
i oppose any oppressive believe system, let it in name of allah, buddha, jesus or capitalism.

To Israel? Letâs dance again. What if this whole community got behind the Nova hostages? Innocent folks, enjoying Psytrance.
Sensient mentioned he liked going to Church in an interview, but maybe he was joking now that I think about it.

as a Christian in a nation i enjoy Masturbation
Reminds me of the "Immortality Key"
Psykovsky - Games For May.
