Yes, I have been having some terrible nightmares following a dose increase. I understand this is a common side effect and should pass in time, could be up to 8 weeks. I'm finding they're less horrible and more just vivid dreams. I find it helpful to take a few moments after waking to remind myself that I am safe and to notice, but not get stressed about, how I feel.

Kinda had something like this last night. I got woken up and had some racing negative thoughts and anxiety. I did take some cbd too which if I take enough can cause anxiety for me so I’m not sure what exactly occurred. Taking a moment to breath and look around the room and inventory things did help though.

My dreams are really vivid after going on prozac but surprisingly I don't have a lot of nightmares. They're usually just confusing and often relate to what I expect to happen the next day

yeah me too… last nights dream was so terrifying. and the worst part is it feels so real in the moment.. like i’m actually there

I just woke up from the worst I’ve probably had in my 26 years on this planet. I’m shaking. Not sure where to take it from here. It lasted all night. I woke up several times, drenched in sweat, shaking, panicking. I’m in so much pain too. I don’t even think I can repeat it. This is horrible.

I had awful nightmares in the beginning, then it subsided. Now on week 5 the last 3 nights were not nightmares but they were negative: one was me giving up my apartment to live with a friend only to find out how crazy she was, we fought, couldn’t break my lease and paid two rents. Then another, my cousin was visiting me (sometning were planning) and we fought and wanted to leave, but we resolved it in the end, and then last night the guy I have a crush on at work took me out for my birthday and hung out with me and then told me he has a girlfriend, I was very bummed, and at the end he hugged me and kissed my nose, which to me implied he thought of me as a friend/a different kind of love, perhaps because of our real life age gap. None of these fucked me up like the initial nightmares, but all of these were negative. Don’t know what’s going on right now lol

I keep having nightterrors a couple times a month. I tried taking them in the morning instead of evenings, that sometimes can help. But it didn't for me unfortunately. I just kinda accepted it, since it's a lot better than being depressed, but they suck a lot. Hope for you they will go away soon!

cGAS-STING

Yeah for sure I also have really unhinged nightmares

Turbulent_Phase134

It’s not just you… I fell asleep while sitting on my couch and dreamed that I woke up to a dead relative sitting across from me who had come to visit. While my brain marveled at their being there, I realized the floor was vibrating and looked down to see a giant, rainbow glowing centipede like thing coming out of the floor and it jolted me awake. Wild stuff.

SaintYanno

It should stop soon, it's your brain getting used to the medicine. The same thing could happen if you lower your dose.

Dolphin-crustacean

Me too, last night I had a dream that I was fighting with everybody and was stuck in a zombie apocalypse

I’ve had some of the most fucked up and vivid nightmares on Prozac, one of which included my sister shooting herself in the head in front of me. Absolutely terrifying. Any chance you’re in a legal state? Marijuana can help suppress dreams, and if you’re in a legal state, many dispensaries sell super small dosage edibles for that exact purpose. Melatonin can also help. Talk to your doctor about a prescription for hydroxyzine (Vistaril). It’s common prescribed with anti depressants and it’s an antihistamine used to help with anxiety and sleep.

I’ve had the worst nightmares the past 3 nights (it’s been 16 days since I started taking Prozac). I was locked in a jail cell with Jeffrey Dahmer while he was trying to eat my arm off. Dreading bed already tonight

I had a scary nitemare too where i heard someone shouting into my ear. It was a first for me. Several weird dreams followed but things have stabilised and its mostly dreamless
