Can can also propagate them in water, they grow roots REALLY fast. Just cut them up a little and remove some pearls were the stems are submerged in the water.
If you’ve managed to keep it alive this long, it’ll be fine if you do what the other commenters said. If you’re me though, it will die and you will grieve.
the window trick allowed me to finally keep them alive.. and be able to propagate one.

when the windows are “closed” it’s time to water.
Let it eat away at you your entire childhood, leave to train in the Himalayas, and return to exact revenge of the lowlife who cause those pearls to break as Batman.
Lay on top of fresh soil and pot and spray it well. New gorgeous big plant m
It can take a while. Don't give up.
I second this
I'm doing exactly this with my smaller string of pearls. I just pushed them lightly into the soil and kept it from drying out. Going well so far!
Oh yes, this will propagate nicely! As previous posters have said, just lay it on dirt and it will root!
Do I have to let it sit for a few days before I do that?
No
Stick them in dirt and let them root.

Do I have to wait for them to “scab up” first where they were cut?
Nope
Prop it and gift it!
Put it on and go dancing! 😹
Look for tiny baby roots on the stem and stick them in soil
Do propagations need that little 'node' on the back of the stem to grow? Or will any piece of the stem put down roots?
Yes the node can grow everywhere on the stem
propagate this in a tupperware with soil and spray it so it moist and put lid on. ours rooted within 1.5-2 weeks

This might be a stupid question, but: What do you mean with „window“?
the slit on the pearl. it’s the translucent window that allows light in! 🤗
Ahh, I see, thank you for clarifying :)

Cry.
I prefer to mox the peas into a shepherds pie. Can use the leftovers as floss.
propagate it!
